Brought my mom back here while she was visiting from the mainland. This place holds a nostalgic place in her heart since it's where her and [my late] Dad would come for 1am coffee and pie during their dating years. Really pleasant experience. Unfortunately they are no longer open 24hrs but hopefully one day they will shift back towards that schedule so I can stop by more often. Quick and great service. Good came out fast and waitress Imelda was awesome. She really took care of our table today and getting out needs (coffee/water refills, cutting my honey packet, etc) despite the place being busy. No wonder a lot of people would still come here to dine. This place is truly known for having great pies (sucks that fresh strawberry pie not in season and would have bought a whole pie home if that was available). At least they had a promotion where you subscribe to Anna Miller emails and you can get a free fresh strawberry pie. I came here starved and didn't eat breakfast so that was what I ordered. Food was decent but a bit pricey (thanks inflation and high living costs in Hawai'i). I think my go to food here I would have got would be their burgers/sandwiches and chicken pot pie (in my opinion). Definitely would come here than some other local diners were quality went downhill. Fully loaded with onions and mushrooms, steak 3.5/5 for tenderness and flavor lol I'm picky when it comes to steak and prefer it to be salt and pepper and tender to cut. Anna Miller's is a landmark in Pearl Ridge/Aiea. Post pandemic, they're no longer 24 hours... in fact, they're just doing brunch and lunch now, closing at 3 daily for dine in. My favorite is their Portuguese bean soup with cornbread. Also tried their pumpkin crunch pie (delicious!) and pumpkin haupia pie (can taste the haupia, but not so much pumpkin). First time here. I had heard their pies are awesome but I wasn't in the mood for sweets (which is kind of insane from a serious sweetaholic). But I still wanted to try their pie crust! I'll preface by noting I am not typically a pie person. The crust is usually the disappointing factor. I've been known to teach my kids to eat the insides of a pie and leave the crust; yup, bad mommy lol. There's only been one pie shop that's changed my approach but they are not here on the island. But I do crave it and chase the flavor with alternatives sometimes. I'm happy to say I will not have to do that anymore! The pie crust here is legit; buttery, flaky, mild saltiness. I can't wait to come back and try the actual dessert pies! Lol But getting back to what I actually did order... the chili is delicious; bold and flavorful with creaminess from the melted cheese and buttery goodness in the crust. I'm usually a sucker for cornbread. Theirs was pretty good. I like mine a bit stickier but that's an uncommon preference for cornbread so this did just fine! The salad was fresh and their Italian dressing is creamy and yummers. I heard they do thanksgiving meals as well so may try that this year! After 8:00 Mass on Sunday there a just a few places open for breakfast Anna Miller's is by far the most popular. I'm not much of a breakfast eater but since it was a family affair I was up for the event. At 9:15 there was a parking lot full of cars and a waiting area full of people of all ages huddled in groups who had already given their names to the hostess behind the podium. This place is much bigger than it looks and names were being called and patrons being seated quickly. Yep, there's our name and party of four....we were walked to our awaiting booth, handed our menus and our orders for water and coffee were taken. I tried not to laugh when our cups of coffee were delivered. Not only were those cups the smallest "cups" I've ever been served but the weakest coffee ever. Guess nothing beats the dark roast Jamaican from home in my 18 oz. I ordered the chicken fried steak with two over very easy eggs. It came with your choice of carbs so I requested the hash browns which I gave to Wes but I will admit they were nicely brown and crisp. My chicken fried steak was a pre formed, pre seasoned slab of meat which was deep fried golden brown and partially covered with whitish gravy. I wasn't expecting a lot and those expectations were met. Eggs were perfectly over easy and great for dragging that steak through. Everyone got what they ordered from pancakes and French toast to steak and toast. The menu had something that appealed to all. I will admit the service was excellent. Hearing and seeing, also reading, about the poor service or lack of service everywhere these days it was refreshing to see this place popping with happy faces. I usually come here to buy their cherry pie which is a family favorite but would actually return for their haole style food again...btw they do serve Loco Moco but can't tell you if it was good or not. Arrived at about 1pm on August 13. When you walk in through those doors you get a good whiff of their bakery. Was greeted by the two hostess sitting down at the hostess' counter. Got escorted to my table and was greeted by my waitress, Espie. There was a little yellow menu of "Todays specials". The options were very appealing and I chose the French Toast Combo at $16.99 with an orange juice. My order came out in less than 15 minutes. Finished my meal in ten minutes and well, when at Anna Millers you need to try their pies. They're known for their freshly baked pies and I needed to try one. My husband felt like eating a Club House sandwich and fries so I searched Yelp and Anna Millers popped up among other places. Since we were passing Pearlridge, it was convenient to come here. We had the dogs with us so I ordered a takeout...French Dip for me and the Club House for him. The French Dip was served on a French Roll and comes with a choice of fries, rice, cole slaw or mac salad...I chose the fries. The roast beef was cold cuts and the Au Jus was bland so the sandwich didn't have much taste but the bread was fresh and soft so it was easy to eat. Come to think of it, I ordered French dip recently from another restaurant...they also used cold cuts and was more expensive than here. For the price the restaurants are charging for this sandwich, the roast beef served should be the real thing like it used to be in the good old days. I don't think I would order this again from here. As for the fries, it was soggy so I'm guessing it's better to order it if you're planning to eat in the restaurant. For the Club House, there's 5 different choices...my husband chose #5 which includes avocado, turkey, bacon, lettuce and tomato with the same choices I had for the side...he also chose fries. He gave me a piece of his sandwich and I thought it was really good. When I asked him if he liked it, he said the bread was burnt. He doesn't like the taste of burnt bread so he didn't enjoy it. I know bread is getting expensive but if they burn it, they should take the loss and toast another one instead of serving it to the customer. What ever happened to taking pride of the food's presentation?! As I was waiting for my food, I was looking over their pies...they looked yummy! They have a list of pies that you can buy by the piece for $5.99 and if you buy a whole pie, they'll give you $.60 when you bring the pie pan back. Just out! Fresh strawberry pies available since 1pm today 3/22! (AC is also working again.) Went for lunch and timed it so we'd finish eating about 1pm so we could get a fresh strawberry pie! Also tried for the first time, their hot pastrami sandwich with fries and was happy with the choice. Fries were really good, pastrami nice and meaty, minimal fat, served on a grilled French roll with Swiss cheese. Yummy. Fries were good, came with a dill pickle. Brought half home because... ...Then we got a strawberry pie to go. Came home and ate a slice immediately. Mmmmm! Came on a Thursday afternoon around 1pm. Wait to be seated was not too long. Anna Millers is a staple in Hawaii. I think the breakfasts are better than the lunches. They used to open 24 hours. Now they open until 3pm. We had a burger and a Reuben sandwich. I was so excited to finally eat a long craved Reuben. Well it wasn't as I expected, which I shouldn't have expected much from this place. It was made of pressed meat. I like my Reuben's sloppy and messy with real corned beef. It was on toasted rye bread, with sauerkraut and thousand island dressing The fries were good. Will have to go to a real sandwich shop for the real Reuben. The burger was ok, as was the coleslaw. We had a brownie and a banana pie for dessert. Didn't know there was an option for brownies without nuts until we heard someone ask for it at the counter. We weren't offered that. I wanted a lemon meringue pie but it was not on the list of pie offerings for the day. Banana pie was just ok. This place is good if you want somewhere familiar and just want to chill and fill your tummy. Go for the breakfasts instead, but expect a long line. I'm glad they're still around. read more

Brought my babies here for brunch during Winter Break. I was bummed to find out that they are no longer 24/7 & closes early. But I'm glad we were able to come here still for brunch. Everything was so delicious. The service was also great. My kids enjoyed the chowder with me. We love how the potatoes were minimal & small chunks. Each bite had corn, and the consistency of the chowder was thick, and not too watery. My son really loved the gravy of the loco moco, and it was packed with fried rice & the patties were big. I've tried some other pie spots for double the price but Anna Millers is consistent and perfect for a decent pie. We usually get pumpkin, custard and apple for Thanksgiving (who can choose just one?!) and it's the perfect pie to crust ratio. Sure you could get a bigger pumpkin pie from Costco but the pie to crust ratio is so off haha. I was so excited to see my classmates after awhile. It was so good to see them. It was spoiled somewhat by the rude and inefficient server named Jane. She came to our table to take our order some two=three minutes after we were seated. Of course due to the expansive menu we were undecided at that time. Jane took our orders after a couple of minutes passed, a girlfriend asked for separate checks. She kind of made an irritated face at us, I mean, we were all paying separately. After ordering she brought our food after some time had elapsed, fine. My order was wrong as I had ordered the Philly cheesecake sandwich with no onions and it came out looking like roast beef, and I had specifically ordered macaroni salad and got fries. Never mind, her attitude stank and so I went ahead and ate it. Conversation and happiness at seeing everybody flowed easily. We all had a great time. It could have been better if she had just been friendly and most of all SMILED. Jane never smiled once during our entire interaction.
