Great find! Masa's cafeteria is also owned by IGE's but this location is in the Mapunapuna/Industrial area of salt lake. We all know that this area is notorious for NO PARKING! but they actually have a good amount of parking stalls available. They're located in a corner/up a little hill when you enter the parking lot. i kind of wonder if it's a little elevated since this area can be flooded sometimes. I've only come for the thursday specials - I really enjoyed the pot roast and the pastrami sandwiches. The portions are really big and can be shared between 2 people and the pricing is pretty decent. There is a take out window where you can order - so you can totally bring your dog! However, no where to really sit and eat so it's mostly takeout. Service depends who helps you! the first time the lady i got was really nice! the second time the older lady/grandma meant well but she had to make my order a total of 3 times for it to be right. i actually drove off and noticed it an hour later and made it back in time before they closed. They fixed it partially but it was still wrong. Luckily i was still in the parking lot this time so i had her fix it again. i guess third times a charm sometimes! There was also a price difference (i paid more) but it's fine i just wanted it fixed.

I decided to try this place for lunch, it's street parking it can park next door and shop at Fisher Hawaii first. They still don't have dine in since covid and no plans to add it back. They have a takeout counter to order food. I ordered a mini turkey with mashed potatoes and there was stuffing under the turkey. It was good, reminds me of comfort home cooking. I couldn't tell if there was sour cream in the mashed potato or if it went sour, but i ended up eating it, They open for breakfast and lunch only with their daily menu on their website. It was crowded w construction workers in the area but service was quick! i think i'll come back and try breakfast.

Love this old school mom & pop feel.

The best comfort food. Haven't been back here in like 20+ years but the place still looks the same minus the closed dining area. I got a combo Baked Spaghetti and the Baked Beans with Hotdog specials plus fried rice. Was ono (delicious)! Comfort food reminds me of hanabata days (small kid time). Got one kanak attack (fell asleep) after attempting to grind all of this massive plate lunch. Employees are nice. I think most of customers work in the area and walk there.

My friend and I had been talking about our andagi craving all last week, so I went to stop here to pick up lunch today. Now these are some plate lunches! No wonder people just line up - it's the food is delicious and plates are plentiful - all at great prices. Curryburger Stew could have a bit more curry flavor but I really like the Teriburger Loaf so I got a mixed plate with the two. Roast Pork plate with mashed is always a winner *the pork is always so soft and tender!

Only open on weekdays. Made time to go there and get there lunch options. They have set menu options each day during the weekday. Everything looks good! The food reminds me of school meals I used to have. Parking available. I got the Mini Pork cutlet $10.50~- Gravy with pork cutlet over rice. I'm so glad the gravy wasn't too salty. The pork was thin. I liked it! Great spot for cheap eats. I would come back to try other options!

Small fragments of bones found in Masa's Cafeteria Wednesday Special Turkey Plate.

My family and I have been frequenting Masa's Cafeteria in Mapunapuna for over 20+ years. A couple days ago, I ordered their Wednesday special turkey plate and found so many BONES! The bones were small fragments that probably fell off the meat, but with the gravy, it wasn't until I bit into one that I realized it was a bone. I unfortunately found many more bones in my plate and was not able eat my food. I called the next day to report it, and the female server transferred the call to her manager. I explained the situation for awareness especially to prevent someone from choking on a bone! The manager asked who the server was (I don't know her name but can identify her if I saw her), said sorry and hung up. It was disappointing that they didn't seem to take much interest with my concern.

This place is legit! I miss their dine in section because now it's only takeout and catering. Food here is yummy and great portions! Got their yummy double cheeseburger and fries, mini beef stew with rice, and mini Korean fried chicken. Me and my co-workers loved it. They also sell maki sushi, fried noodles, and baked goods here. Will be back again!

Rated them 5 STARZ because they ticked off all 3 boxes for me: quantity, price and taste. Nowadays take out is so expensive, and this place is so much better than Zippy's or L & L. The roast beef was tender and tasty. I asked for extra gravy on the side, and I aways ask for the Mac salad on the side. All this for $19.60 tx incl. (xtra gravy missing from photo) this was 5/15/2025.

Had a retirement party to attend and it was held a Masa's Cafeteria located in Mapunapuna . Lots of parking either on the street or they have a lot behind there cafeteria. The food was delicious from Potato Macaroni salad, rice, Chinese chicken salad, yakisoba noodles, spare ribs, shoyu pork, fried chicken, beef broccoli, mahi mahi and of course dessert Andagi donut. Congratulations to my friend Geno Oshiro retiring after 40years in the DOE . I can't believe anyone who can work that long and still have the energy that he has. Also I cannot see myself working that long if I could I would retire now LOL !!! But I got into the State late in my career so I got at least 10 more years to go . Masa's also serves plate lunches during the week day Mon-Fri so if your in the area support local their food is good

This is the pork cutlet plate... disgusting!

My husband and I have been coming here for years, and remember coming here when we first started dating. The price went up a little bit to a few bucks a person, but it's still worth the entrance fee. We came back here with our kids, who had never been, and they had so much fun playing in and around the huge trees, running around the big open spaces, and feeding the ducks in the duck pond. A picnic was a delight at a table, and we brought a blanket to sit on and eat snacks again a little later while we were walking around. The bathrooms are nice and renovated. Really appreciate that touch. Overall, a great place to come for a little communue with nature.

For years, I was confused by the closed freeway gates, but we finally found our way in this past weekend. After grabbing some sweets in town and failing to find parking, we decided to head toward Moanalua. A last-minute turn (and some dramatic screams from my sister) landed us safely through the gates. Pro tip: Keep an eye out for the entrance--it comes up fast! Entry for Kama'aina is a very reasonable $4 per person. While it's not the most expansive botanical garden I've ever seen, it is a peaceful "secret" oasis right in the city. The massive monkeypod trees provide incredible shade for the many picnic tables available. We loved the duck pond and watching the turtles. You can even buy food to feed them, which is great for families. It's quiet, uncrowded, and perfect for a slow stroll across the bridge and along the stream. Just be sure to follow the signs and take your valuables with you when you park! And the bathroom , although indicates women, the signs hanging in the doors indicate men and the other two women. Restroom is nice and clean and I liked the classic farm sink and faucet.

This place would be great for family parties, birthday parties, baby showers, recreational activities, and even private functions. Today's visit was because of the MAKAHIKI festival which my sons Cornwall and Hula Halal had performed for today. Aside of the activities for the MAKAHIKI festival, the performance was awesome. Being that they did a lot on their own by themselves for the first time they did well. HOWEVER, to hold an event & to utilize these facilities, you must have MILITARY CONNECTIONS. OF COURSE, Public access is available to civilians, but with LIMITED ACCESS to the beachfront & shores ONLY. Civilians are NOT ALLOWED to use or rent the facilities. I asked the CITY & COUNTY and they said this place IS NOT on their list & as far as for the STATE, they said they have no rental information on these facilities. So... that means... it's through MILITARY OFFICIALS ONLY! To be honest, I'm SURE military will say it's because this is "PEARL HARBOR", where their military is located, they have to take precautions to whom has access to the area. WHICH FOR ME, KINDA SUCKS because this place WAS once where my kupunas (older aunts & uncles) used swim & look for oyesters for food & pearls for jewelry/decorations, WAAY before the HARBOR was built for the military and now... a grandniece of theirs, a KANAKA, has LIMITED access to the area. As a civilian... we're FORBIDDEN from using "THEIR FACILITY". Doesn't really seem fair, doesn't it?! But that's the so called RULES. let's hope in due time there is a way to allow civilians the use of this area WITHOUT military connections. Anywho, if you have a chance to rent this spot, GO FOR IT!!!! And be sure to TAKE CARE OF THE PLACE TOO! Just because military has the say over this area, doesn't mean we should destroy or ruin the property itself. It is still OUR AINA! And Regardless if your ARE KANAKA OR NOT, just treat this place as if it was YOUR OWN HOME. And if you MISTREAT it and say that's how you'd treat your own home, then I can only imagine how embarrassed your parents must feel to have raised such a sloppy individual. POOR THING, YOU... SAD...
