This place gets very busy. Recommend calling your order in for pick up. Ordered maki sushi, luncheon meat with pineapple sauce, and luncheon meat without pineapple sauce. When I picked up my order, I added a turkey ala king at the last minute. Hahaha I love their maki sushi...I think everything is well balanced...not too sweet, not to vinegary, just right. This place is close to my job so I'm able to get there and return to work with relative ease. I must admit the outside service window arrangement is a little awkward, but it's ok. They also have an indoor area but I was unsure if I could go inside. There are print outs on the door saying many different things. It's quite confusing. Another thing that could be more straightforward and simple is the menu. Either way, I had the fried fish to-go.... It was incredible! I'm usually not a fan of Mac salad but it was tolerable (definitely my favorite on the island). The portion size per price is something that just isn't offered at other drive in spots anymore! Masa's or Ige's is the real deal. If you want local great tasting food, you gotta give this place a shot. It is located in Mapunapuna and parking can be a challenge. Recommend call in your order to limit your wait time. Due to COVID safety precautions, no seating inside yet so you gotta take your order to go. Check out the daily specials and place your order at the window. The food is amazing, I love the Loco Moco, the beef patties are perfect and the gravey is not too rich but so full of flavor. It comes with two perfectly toated pieces of toast. The service is great, the ladies are so nice and very helpful. They will help you pick something if you are not sure what you want. Well do to this Corona virus and cant really go out and sit down and dine in at restaurants my brother husband and I went to try this place in mapunapuna known as Masa's cafeteria. We got there just before closing and thought they properly didnt have choice of food but we were surprised they had food left. I had the mini hamburger steak my husband had the bake spaghetti and my brother had their hamburger curry. All was mini portions and it was alot of course minus the salad but I think you could of ask for the salad. The food was good and will be back again to try the other daily specials.( FYI) even though they still go by Masa's cafeteria on the sign on the bldg but I think it turned out to be IGE'S catering.you guys be the judge of that. We stopped into Masa's completely at random while waiting on our vehicle inspection at the Toyota shop down the road. To be honest, from the looks of it, it wasn't expecting much, I just didn't want to walk any further in the heat with my toddler. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the food, with great speed to boot! I ordered a grilled cheese for my kiddo and decided to try the hamburger curry for myself (odd, but ok!)... the flavors were great, the prices were exceptional, and the customer service was awesome! Don't let the presentation of the cafeteria-style dining area fool you... they care about the food that they prepare and about their customers. Da local cafeteria style restaurant. There used to be tons of them dotting Honolulu. Many of them were located in the industrial/airport areas of Honolulu and were once known as "Lunch rooms". Recently I had a chance to visit them and the food was great! Masa's is located right next to Fisher Hawaii and parking is pretty non existent. Guessing most of their eat- in customers are people who work in the area. They have regular offerings as well as daily specials. I chose the chicken curry with da classic two scoops rice and Mac salad. The curry was just right, not too watery, not too thick, just the right amount of kick. They were generous with the chicken pieces and the potato, carrot and onions balanced out the curry nicely. Also picked up an oven baked chicken musubi- it comes in two parts and actually could be eaten as a micro plate snack. They said the rice and chicken are packed separately because it's easier for students who come by after school. The gals that serve the dishes are friendly and patient and you can get your food on a plate with silverware on a tray, you know, like school. (At least no grumpy hairnet school marm to yell at you- "eh, hurry up! Get plenty people in line!" Aah- school days) You go through the line, make your choices and pay the cashier at the end. Talk about large servings! One of my favs is the baked spaghetti! The homemade hamburgers are delicious too! The flavor of the food is old school style. Teri meatloaf is good! Ate here for the first time with my teammates and it was awesome. Living here my whole life, I had no idea this place existed and they've been here forever. It isn't a place that's seen on the main road unless you drive within the side streets of Mapunapuna. They have a bunch of entree choices to choose from on top of the specials that you can order from too. I had the shoyu pork and roast beef plate which came with rice, mac salad, and A LOT of meats. It wasn't like a 5-star plate, but mannnnn, you definitely get your moneys worth here. The food that I've tasted so far reminds of school lunches when I was a kid. There's a small parking lot next to the building and it can get really tight if it's packed. There's also street parking, but good-luck with that lol. The staff are very friendly and super fast. The setup is like a large cafeteria with trays, long tables, and chairs. You can reserve this place in advance and throw parties and cater from here too. Wish when they are opening in the early morning that there would be items out ready to purchase. Like especially the breakfast basics. Also having a warm greeting in the morning would be nice. Can't say enough good things about Masas. This is what local comfort food is all about. First time having them, their lasagna, turkey and real mash potatoes are my favorites. While most plate lunch spots have since cut down on portion sizes they still give u that fat plate. Highly reccomend if you're in the salt lake/ mapunapuna area. Masa's Cafeteria is located in Mapunapuna next to Fisher Hawaii. Catered here for our annual Christmas party. They are very flexible and let us pick up our order as late as 530pm on Christmas Eve which was great. Their catering menu can be found online but we picked our own stuff. We ordered chow mein noodles, sushi, shoyu chicken, Shoyu pork, and andagi. Their Shoyu pork is the BEST! I've had Shoyu pork from other places but Masa's/Ige's is my favorite. The andagi from this place is also bomb! You can also have large parties in their catering hall too! They have their own parking lot which can probably accommodate 25-30 cars. There is also lots of street parking in the surrounding industrial Mapunapuna area so rest assured your guests will have parking. I would definitely recommend Masa's/Ige's for your next big event, including funerals too. read more

Das what I'm talkin' about!!!! After seeing my Yelp buddy - Val S. "check in" at Masa's Cafeteria (as I saw her talkin' about Shoyu Chicken) .............. BING, BING, BING!!!! Masa's Cafeteria kinda reminds me of the old "Masu's Massive Plate Lunch!" Not a fancy place at all........just a local style cafeteria setting. You got to the lunch line, order your food, pay at the end of the line, then grab your eating utensils, napkins, & any other condiments you need. Howzit gang, what? Masa's give massive grindages? YES GANG, at Masa's they no fool around with da grindages!!! They'll pack your plate wid' da massive grindz so after you eat 'em, you going get massive Hawaiian Paralysis afterwards!!! (Kanak Attack!) Where is Masa's located? Masa's is located in an industrial area in Mapunapuna, as they are right across the street from the Coca Cola soda plant. There is free available parking just next door to Masa's, in a private parking lot, but I'm not sure how many stalls were dedicated for Masa's. When I went here for lunch today, I did not have any problems finding parking, as when I pulled into the private lot, there were a few stalls available (the parking stalls are marked "Masa's"). Upon walking into the cafeteria, I could see that they had pre-made food, but If that's not your bag, then you can order some stuff from the wall menu........ As for me............you know what I was here for today.............Yuuuuuuuuuuup!!! I was just here for da Shoyu Chicken!!! For just under $10 smackaz, I got this massive plate of Shoyu Chicken that came with (2) scoops white rice, & (1) scoop mac salad. My friend got a two item combo of - Beef Curry & Korean Chicken, and of course his meal also came with (2) scoops white rice & (1) scoop mac salad. Both plates came out to just $20.89! Not bad, considering how massive the plates were!!!! What can I say about the grub? I gotta tell you I really loved the Shoyu Chicken! The chicken had a slight sweetness to it, and I know the chicken was stewed for a long time, as the chicken meat came off da bone real easy! I was also impressed wid' da MASSIVE quantity of grindages I received!!!! If I could say just one thing that kept me from giving Masa's a "5", instead of a "4"..........when I got my shoyu chicken, it was just room temperature, and not hot at all, aside from that, everything else about this plate was good! My friend also enjoyed this grindages...........I had a taste of the Korean Chicken, and I must say the marinade was awesome! So inquiring minds wanna know............Did I down my plate? Hell yeah! I ordered the hamburger curry plate and SOS mixed plate. I asked the girl what SOS meant thinking it meant something other than sh*t on a shingle. First attempt to eat at Masa's was a fail because I couldn't find parking at lunch time. Tried again this morning around 9am after picking up my car at Servco. There were many available stalls in their lot so yay! The corned beef was ready so I was very happy. Regular lunch plate came with two scoops rice & one scoop potato mac salad. Super tender & yummy! This is no frills great food made with loving hands by friendly aunties and uncles. This place is like the name implies, a cafeteria style restaurant. Most of the food is premade and there are some stuff you can order from the menu and they will make it to order. I got the Lau lau mixed plate with beef stew. It was really delicious and the portion was large enough to satisfy my large appetite. Prices are very reasonable. My wife and daughter enjoyed their food as well. Not reviewed as a restaurant, but as a catered event. Squid Luau, very good. You could taste the coconut and the taro. Could have used more squid. Sweet Sour Spare ribs, was cut rather large to my liking, which made it difficult to put the whole piece in my mouth to suck the bone or Cher the tendon. Chicken Long Rice, excellent flavor. Ginger pieces were cut medium. Not slivers or chunks. Kalua pig, fair. I would have like more smoke flavor. My wife said it was delish, but more smoke would have made it salty. Lomi lomi, could have used larger pieces of salmon. Tomato was too overpowering, thought it was salsa. Some chili Peppa water would have been good. Didn't get to try the fish. Was too full from eating too much pupus. A/C could be better. Even if there were fans in use, people were fanning themselves.
