Don't eat here often but we enjoy it when we do. Today was exceptional. 20 minute wait (it was Saturday at 11am so expected). I asked how long a wait and was told 20 minutes. (There were a LOT of people waiting!) Lady calling out names as tables were ready really seemed to enjoy her job. Her intonation was pleasant to listen to, and she was easy to understand, nice and loud. Names were being called out at a good pace so tables were clearing quickly. Guess the breakfast/brunch folks were all leaving around that time. Just under 20 minutes my name was called and as soon as we entered the door from waiting on a bench outside there was a hostess ready to seat us. After seating us she asked about drinks and very quickly brought hubby's Dr. Pepper and my Coke Zero (no ice). Mine had a lemon in it, which turns out to be the signal it's a Coke Zero. Added nice flavor, too. She said our server would be right with us, and we had just enough time to scan the menu then our server Alicia came to our table. We ordered immediately and our food came in record time. Hubby's pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon, no butter had tall fluffy pancakes, and no butter. (Some places forget, but not here.) My Salmon Benedict came with eggs poached perfectly, yolks runny, as it should be. I ordered my hash browns "crispy" and they were perfectly crisp on both sides. (Not every place crisps hash browns on both sides...) Alicia came at just the right time to check on us and ask if I wanted my soda refilled. She looked at it and asked if it was a Coke Zero, so the lemon must be the signal. She was very busy (it was bustling inside) but managed to stop by at all the right times. Friendly but no chit chat since it was super busy, very efficient, which was perfect for us. She came by just when we were done and asked if I needed a box for my food, and we asked if we could order a slice of pie to go. Hubby wanted the fresh strawberry pie which is in season. She suggested the strawberry tart, which suited him just fine. I asked if they still had fresh peach pie and she again suggested the tart. Alicia brought our 2 tarts in a paper bag and said she included forks and napkins. She had given me a paper bag for my Benedict but I wanted to help the environment and we were trying to fit it with the tarts. She was eagle eyed and called out to us that she would bring another bag. We explained we just wanted to not waste a bag and showed her the unopened one she had brought with my box. She was amazing. Looking forward to the next time we visit. Hope we get her as our server again. Got home and while the tarts are for dessert tonight, I wanted to enjoy the freshness of the tart crust so I snuck a piece. The crust was so good! And the fresh peaches were great, too. Always better than canned. The yards are really almost like a slice and a half of pie and and neater than taking home a slice, so it's a good deal. Pies are expensive because making pie crusts takes time, so getting extra crust in a tart is great. Hope our next visit goes as well as today's. 6/11/26 Stopped by to pick up some pie. Had not been here in years but it was always the go-to place whenever you wanted pie because they had such a huge selection to choose from. Not so much anymore, especially since covid. And, they only carry certain pies daily and add more selection on the weekends. Customer service was still spot on. When I approached the pie area, I was greeted by a warm and friendly gal. I was only buying 2 slices of pie - banana cream and macadamia nut cream. I was told that the macadamia nut cream pie was only made on the weekends. Ok, I asked if I can still be it by the slice on the weekend and she told me that it is only sold whole. That was a big disappointment because that was my favorite pie there but did not want to get a whole pie. They did have the banana cream and I was able to get by the slice. I ended up getting a slice of custard pie for my 2nd choice. The gal did show me the sign by the register of what pies are available for slice for that day, which wasn't a lot. Both pies tasted ok, nothing special. The banana cream had a few slices of real banana, which was nice. The pie crust was on the thick side and tasted pretty dry. It wasn't the best banana cream pie I've had .The custard pie was meh, didn't have a real good custardy taste and the crust was the same as the banana cream. Overall, the customer service was good and I probably will go elsewhere for pies. read more

Love Anna Millers! Though I miss the days when it used to be to be 24 hrs. They are currently open from 7am-3pm on the weekends, opens at 8 am on the weekdays. Sometimes you need a treat of a strawberry pie after you eat a steak eggs and hash browns. Hey I'm writing this on a Saturday, so it's my "cheat day" well technically second cause I also cheated on Friday lol. Anyways besides the excellent food, the staff are all excellent! Great service even on a busy day. The restaurant is clean with that great diner ambiance to it. So please make sure to come by the last Anna Millers location on earth in Aiea. Lunch at AMs on a Sunday afternoon. Busy but not super crowded. Wife and I seated in less than five minutes. Menu post-pandemic is still limited but it's got whatever you crave for breakfast or lunch. We usually visit here at least once a month. Wife got a BLT and I got a Clubhouse #5, with turkey, bacon, and avocado. Mine was 4 start. Wife's was 3 star. Service was fast and friendly. Place hasn't changed (thankfully) in all these years. I am a big fan of Anna Miller's, it's a very comfortable place to eat and socialize right here in Aiea! My all time favorite waitress is no longer there! However, today we were waited on by Shannen, wow, she's really on top of her game! So personable and very willing to have the steak recooked for my friend, it came back just the way she wanted it! My 4 star review is based on my pancakes! They have been so great in the past, however, today they were pale and doughy, though the scrambled eggs and bacon were great! My dad wanted custard pie for his birthday. My mom used to baked the most delicious custard pies, but she can't bake any more. It's been probably close to 10 years since I last came to Anna Miller's, but the food and the experience was the same as I remember. Like any great diner, there were groups of people waiting outside to get called for their table, so my friend and I went inside to check in, and asked for 2 seats at the counter. Fortunately, we were seated right away. Our server, Hilda, greeted us promptly, and served us out coffee right away, along with our menus and the breakfast specials. After looking over the options, we both ordered the fried rice special, mine with bacon, and my buddy's with link sausage. The kitchen and servers were bustling, and the orders kept coming, and I'm amazed at how they kept track of everything. Our orders came out fairly quickly, and tasted great. I love that you can spend as much time as you need without feeling rushed. The coffee and water kept getting refilled, and we were there for almost an hour. Several patrons at the counter were there before us, and still they're when we left. I was tempted to get one of their amazing pies, but I opted against temptation. I remember coming here back in the 70's and 80's, when the pies were around $10 (really dating myself here). It has been a long time since I have been here, mainly because they don't have many vegetarian options. I learned they added a veggie option so I tried the patty melt with a veggie patty. It was actually very good! It was a little small but still very tasty (with lots of onions and melted Swiss cheese). It was very busy but our service was still good. Anna Miller's first opened in Hawaii around 1973 and was the first in a chain of restaurants that opened in Japan that eventually numbered over 20. Some people say that the origin of the "Maid Cafes" in Japan can be traced to Anna Miller's distinctive uniforms. As of today, Jan. 2026, the sole remaining Anna Miller's in the world is the Hawaii location in the Pearlridge area. Research indicates the last Japan location closed in 2022, but word has it that a new restaurant will be opening in 2026. Many a Kamaaina or visitor have visited this coffee shop over the decades, after a trip to Aloha Stadium or a visit to Pearlridge shopping center. Their breakfasts are great but our favorite is the chicken pot pie that comes with a crisp toss salad and a corn bread. Is's a delicious combination with just the right amount of balance in the pie as well as the meal itself. Saturday May 9, 2026 this is my first time coming here and to buy one of their many famous pies. They are known for their famous fresh strawberry pie which they ran out of. So, I decided to get the Haupia Strawberry Pie which was really good!! A layer of Haupia then a layer of Strawberry Cream underneath then the pie crust with slices of fresh strawberries on top. They have a Haupia Chocolate Pie too. It sounds good and I can bet it is good too. Service is friendly and fast even though it was crazy busy this Saturday morning. Ambiance is casual and comfortable looking even though we didn't get to eat here today. The original plan was to eat breakfast there and to buy a pie after to take home. It was crazy busy and decided just to get a famous pie for this time. We will try to come and eat here the next time. Plenty parking. But, I had to drive around and wait for a parking. Actually, not enough parking. Lol. We will be back another time. Support local businesses. So, they stay around for as long as possible for the future generations to enjoy too. It's quite apparent when you drive up and see lots of folks waiting outside on the 'deck', as well as inside as you walk in! The staff is friendly...yes, we have our favorites, and they are accommodating for kupuna (walkers), as well as kids (highchairs). Still my favorite go-to for Thanksgiving and Pi Day (March 14) pies! I've picked up Thanksgiving pies from Anna Miller's two years in a row. They definitely improved logistics from last year. No dine in on Thanksgiving Day, and lines flow one way, from a group of staff members taking your order and handing you a carbon copy slip at the entrance door off the side, to handing that slip at one of two registers that ring up your order and hand you your pie order, to exiting through the main door. I was in and out in probably five minutes! You can also preview their Thanksgiving pie menu online. Last year, I ordered a Dutch Apple pie and a custard pie. The Dutch Apple pie was good with the traditional streusel topping, but the custard pie was a little runny and not like Kaneohe Bakery. This year, I only ordered the Dutch Apple pie, which was topped with pie crust crumbs instead of streusel. :( I think for next year, I will just go for a regular apple pie, peach pie, or if Ted's is not an option, a chocolate haupia pie. My sister in law and niece shared a Chicken Fried Steak with hash browns and their dish was also delicious. We shared a slice of pumpkin crunch pie which was perfect.
