Love Anna Millers! Though I miss the days when it used to be to be 24 hrs. They are currently open from 7am-3pm on the weekends, opens at 8 am on the weekdays. Sometimes you need a treat of a strawberry pie after you eat a steak eggs and hash browns. Hey I'm writing this on a Saturday, so it's my "cheat day" well technically second cause I also cheated on Friday lol. Anyways besides the excellent food, the staff are all excellent! Great service even on a busy day. The restaurant is clean with that great diner ambiance to it. So please make sure to come by the last Anna Millers location on earth in Aiea. 6/11/26 Stopped by to pick up some pie. Had not been here in years but it was always the go-to place whenever you wanted pie because they had such a huge selection to choose from. Not so much anymore, especially since covid. And, they only carry certain pies daily and add more selection on the weekends. Customer service was still spot on. When I approached the pie area, I was greeted by a warm and friendly gal. I was only buying 2 slices of pie - banana cream and macadamia nut cream. I was told that the macadamia nut cream pie was only made on the weekends. Ok, I asked if I can still be it by the slice on the weekend and she told me that it is only sold whole. That was a big disappointment because that was my favorite pie there but did not want to get a whole pie. They did have the banana cream and I was able to get by the slice. I ended up getting a slice of custard pie for my 2nd choice. The gal did show me the sign by the register of what pies are available for slice for that day, which wasn't a lot. Both pies tasted ok, nothing special. The banana cream had a few slices of real banana, which was nice. The pie crust was on the thick side and tasted pretty dry. It wasn't the best banana cream pie I've had .The custard pie was meh, didn't have a real good custardy taste and the crust was the same as the banana cream. I am a big fan of Anna Miller's, it's a very comfortable place to eat and socialize right here in Aiea! My all time favorite waitress is no longer there! However, today we were waited on by Shannen, wow, she's really on top of her game! So personable and very willing to have the steak recooked for my friend, it came back just the way she wanted it! My 4 star review is based on my pancakes! They have been so great in the past, however, today they were pale and doughy, though the scrambled eggs and bacon were great! My dad wanted custard pie for his birthday. My mom used to baked the most delicious custard pies, but she can't bake any more. I was at Pearlridge and when I was looking for a place to pick one up, Anna's came up. I had been here before for a club sandwich tasteoff, and for their strawberry pie. It's been probably close to 10 years since I last came to Anna Miller's, but the food and the experience was the same as I remember. Like any great diner, there were groups of people waiting outside to get called for their table, so my friend and I went inside to check in, and asked for 2 seats at the counter. Fortunately, we were seated right away. Our server, Hilda, greeted us promptly, and served us out coffee right away, along with our menus and the breakfast specials. After looking over the options, we both ordered the fried rice special, mine with bacon, and my buddy's with link sausage. The kitchen and servers were bustling, and the orders kept coming, and I'm amazed at how they kept track of everything. Our orders came out fairly quickly, and tasted great. I love that you can spend as much time as you need without feeling rushed. The coffee and water kept getting refilled, and we were there for almost an hour. Several patrons at the counter were there before us, and still they're when we left. I was tempted to get one of their amazing pies, but I opted against temptation. I remember coming here back in the 70's and 80's, when the pies were around $10 (really dating myself here). Anna Millers is a staple when it comes to the classic Hawaii restaurant experience. Although they are no longer open for late night dinners, the breakfast menu still hits and the staff continues to always serve with a smile. Saturday May 9, 2026 this is my first time coming here and to buy one of their many famous pies. They are known for their famous fresh strawberry pie which they ran out of. So, I decided to get the Haupia Strawberry Pie which was really good!! A layer of Haupia then a layer of Strawberry Cream underneath then the pie crust with slices of fresh strawberries on top. They have a Haupia Chocolate Pie too. It sounds good and I can bet it is good too. Service is friendly and fast even though it was crazy busy this Saturday morning. Ambiance is casual and comfortable looking even though we didn't get to eat here today. The original plan was to eat breakfast there and to buy a pie after to take home. It was crazy busy and decided just to get a famous pie for this time. We will try to come and eat here the next time. Plenty parking. But, I had to drive around and wait for a parking. Actually, not enough parking. Lol. We will be back another time. Support local businesses. So, they stay around for as long as possible for the future generations to enjoy too. Anna Miller's first opened in Hawaii around 1973 and was the first in a chain of restaurants that opened in Japan that eventually numbered over 20. Some people say that the origin of the "Maid Cafes" in Japan can be traced to Anna Miller's distinctive uniforms. As of today, Jan. 2026, the sole remaining Anna Miller's in the world is the Hawaii location in the Pearlridge area. Research indicates the last Japan location closed in 2022, but word has it that a new restaurant will be opening in 2026. Many a Kamaaina or visitor have visited this coffee shop over the decades, after a trip to Aloha Stadium or a visit to Pearlridge shopping center. Their breakfasts are great but our favorite is the chicken pot pie that comes with a crisp toss salad and a corn bread. Is's a delicious combination with just the right amount of balance in the pie as well as the meal itself. Diners and take out orders also are drawn to the variety pies that they offer by the slice and whole. The strawberry pies, in their different variations are a favorite. It's quite apparent when you drive up and see lots of folks waiting outside on the 'deck', as well as inside as you walk in! The dine-in counters (totally fun to sit there), booths, and walk-up pie counter are bustling with people meeting others, taking photos, or picking up their pies! The staff is friendly...yes, we have our favorites, and they are accommodating for kupuna (walkers), as well as kids (highchairs). Breakfast is a delight with huge pancakes (the macadamia ones are sumptuous), and I would think most people would have to share a plate...although you can order just one! We're usually there for the lunch menu (both are served all day), and the hot sandwiches with fries 'hit the spot'. Still my favorite go-to for Thanksgiving and Pi Day (March 14) pies! I've picked up Thanksgiving pies from Anna Miller's two years in a row. They definitely improved logistics from last year. No dine in on Thanksgiving Day, and lines flow one way, from a group of staff members taking your order and handing you a carbon copy slip at the entrance door off the side, to handing that slip at one of two registers that ring up your order and hand you your pie order, to exiting through the main door. I was in and out in probably five minutes! You can also preview their Thanksgiving pie menu online. Last year, I ordered a Dutch Apple pie and a custard pie. The Dutch Apple pie was good with the traditional streusel topping, but the custard pie was a little runny and not like Kaneohe Bakery. This year, I only ordered the Dutch Apple pie, which was topped with pie crust crumbs instead of streusel. :( I think for next year, I will just go for a regular apple pie, peach pie, or if Ted's is not an option, a chocolate haupia pie. My folks and I went here after not going for 7 years and figured it would be a good excuse to get out of the weather after a day of errands. I think all of Oahu loves Anna Miller's. There's always a wait, which is a good sign of that love and willingness to wait for their food. I don't know how long they've had the same menu and specials but the husband gets the fried rice omelet every time we go and promptly splits it in half to save for his next day's breakfast. The rest of the family will order different items from the menu. This last time, I got a French Toast Combo. It filled me up well into the late afternoon. We also went on Pi Day and they were selling slices of select pie for 3.14 each. I got the lemon meringue because the table in my line of sight got one. It looked good. It was good. In its heyday, Anna Miller's was open 24 hours a day. Trudy, my housemate and UH law student, and I would drive out from Kaimuki to PearlRidge at night and eat breakfast. On the way, we would play Name That Tune on the radio. The radio would be on a specific station but the volume would be turned off and then the volume would be turned up and then down in half a second. It was amazing how many songs we could recognize from that snippet of audio. I tried it the other day and I no longer have the ability of audio recognition. Maybe it's old age but I believe it's because now music all sounds the same to me ... rap, pap, sap. Well, Trudy graduated from law school, became a lawyer for a local firm, moved back to Kauai to practice, became a judge, and retired. I haven't seen her for a long time. I am still working and apparently slowly losing my hearing or rather my listening skills. Anyway, my property manager and I went out to Aiea the other morning so naturally we ate lunch at Anna Miller's. It's a busy as ever, with a very loud speaker announcing when your table is ready. The bathrooms are clean, and there is a mix of local and military patrons enjoying the food. I didn't order my typical omelet, patty melt, or tuna melt, but instead ordered the #5 club sandwich. I should have ordered the patty melt but I wasn't ready to eat a heavy cheesy greasy burger. And when I say greasy, I mean it in a good way. The #5 club was a BLT with turkey and avocado. The turkey was jelled fowl deli-style (not a favorite) with ample bacon and avocado. Cole slaw was adequate but not bright in your mouth like at Popeye's. The real star of a late spring meal at Anna Miller's is the fresh strawberry pie. You can also buy whole pies at the front counter where their pies entice hungry patrons before their meals. I was trying to will my property manager to order dessert so I could too, but I guess my Jedi powers have faded away into the past. They say dementia is directly related to hearing loss, so that is what the future holds. So no fresh strawberry pie was in my present that day. But you need to try it. I command you. read more

Something as simple as breakfast I still love to come here for. They are no longer open 24/7 but still nice to come here in the morning.
