Overjoyed. Third time is a charm. First time we came they were sold out. Second time we came by they were closed but today we ordered 2 laulau mini plates which came with a square of haupia in a muffin liner firm but with an after taste. Came with a free brownie. Perhaps being piled on one another in foil with the haupia made the brownie mushy/gucky, shucks. Chose tossed salad with ranch. Veggies were fresh but dressing was somehow tasteless. No drinks ordered although asked. Chimere shared that 80% of her customers phone in their orders. Amazing when asked what time do they open I was told little after 2 a.m. Just her smile alone rated a 5 stars. Compounded with haupia and a free brownie - instant happiness on a Friday to begin the weekend. Be forewarned: kinda in an industrial area, narrow driveway, hole in the wall with a window to order, not swanky can't enter or eat there but served with aloha.

all this for $13 even (if paid by cash)... if paying by card, then add the additional 4.712% general excise tax.. brownie included 4.17.25

Chimere is a superstar by handling so many things at once! I would freak out as she does the phone order taking the info at the same time she is preparing the plate lunches for the customer in front of her! It is just a one-person operation! Thursdays and Fridays she gets smashed with business. Thursdays due to the roast turkey that runs out FAST! Stuffing available for $1 more... she does not provide any cranberry sauce (since my friend asked me if that was included with the stuffing). Prices do increase $1 on all the plates effective this coming Monday, October 6th while drinks all increase 50 cents to $1.50. Though I was there at 8:37am (she officially opens at 9am), i really took the last parking stall available (how thankful is that and right in front of the window). I just waited until Chimere was available to service the customers waiting for the 9 am opening. She is always showing a cheerful attitude and so very, very GREAT customer service!

Prices are worth it! Huge portions! Turkey and Hawaiian food are my favorites! The owner is friendly and accommodating, don't wait too long ahead will sell out!

Photo take at 10:30am. Only two choices left.

If you're not here by 10:30am you're not going to be able to choose what you want. You best get here by the time they open. With that I cannot fairly give them a five star rating no matter that I support mom and pops local restaurants and hike in the walls. When you stand in line for 10 minutes and the only choices they have is beef curry and bbq beef after an hour and a half of being open it's safe to say that they have a small operation and that the way only make enough food to stick their Lunchwagon and enough to serve at their brick and mortar for an hour and a half. If the demand is that high then they should consider making more food or at least warning prospective customers like myself not to waste my time if I don't get there before 9:30am. I don't care how good the food is or how great the prices are. If you can't provide that info to prospective customers, then you should. I gave 3 stars because of this even though I haven't had a chance to order the food.

The food was plentiful, hot, tasty, & had great value...$14 for a mixed plate of beef stew & baked chicken with a brownie dessert piece and a drink! The customer service is welcoming and so very pleasant Check out their menu as it changes daily. I'm gonna have to arrange it so I can get over to Waipahu before 930am...everything sells out early!

Sorry to the 1st bite already!

I want to give them 6 ! Always delicious. Massive plates feed 2! And it's Friday, so shoyu chicken + beef stew combo mix plate it is! Includes a canned juice or soda. And they have Diamond Head Strawberry & Grape . Always a winnah!

Wait where are you? Luckily, GPS had me in the right spot. You can tell this places caters to the blue collar workers because of their location and hours. First location is an industrial area in Waipahu with limited hours. If you don't have GPS, look for the yellow sign in the curve. Then after, go buy a phone with GPS. Second they are on a dead end street which is good because you may have to double park but it's not a long wait once you order your food. Menu is limited to local grindz. And once they sell out of an item, don't expect them to make more in the back. Pick the left overs. Everything's to go since there is no seating. Unless you plan to double park and they there. Don't be that guy :) Over three stars. Location is tough unless you work in the area. Food is decent. You end up getting free dessert. And service is friendly. M

Opens Monday to Friday from 9am - 1 pm or while food lasts. Suggest you arrive before it opens or as soon as it opens. You could also call your order in. Love that there are 4 options of plate lunch to choose from...Mix Plate (2 choices of entree, 2 scoops rice and 1 side); Regular Plate (1 choice of entree, 2 scoops rice and 1 side); Mini Plate (1 choice of entree, 1 scoop rice and 1 side) and Micro Mini Plate (1 choice of entree, 1 scoops rice). No matter which plate lunch size you order, the portion is huge. We ordered a regular roast turkey, micro mini sweet sour spareribs, micro mini Teri beef and micro mini mushroom chicken. The regular roast turkey included 2 scoops rice, 1 scoop stuffing and 1 side which I choose Mac salad. I wasn't able to finish and the leftovers will probably be 2 or 3 more meals. It delicious and the Mac Salad was tasty despite it being plain. The micro mini sweet sour spareribs were so delicious and was my favorite. It was sweet but not overly sweet and the spareribs were soft. Next time I'm ordering the regular plate :) The micro mini Teri beef was also delicious and was my next favorite. The beef was soft and lean. The micro mini mushroom chicken was delicious but should have asked extra gravy. There was 2 pieces of thigh. It was moist and not dry.

This is a walk-up window located in the industrial area of Waipahu. The food is delicious! Many love their roast pork, pork adobo, and shoyu chicken. My favorite is their shoyu chicken! Very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Not dry at all. Their prices are also very reasonable for the portions that you get. Each day, they have about 5-6 different specials. It is recommended to go when they open or to call in your order before 9am because they tend to get very busy and also run out of food quickly. They can run out of food as early as 11am. Their hours are from 9am-1pm Monday-Friday, but they tend to close once they run out of food. The service is phenomenal! The Auntie who owns the restaurant is super friendly and has great customer service. If you are Waipahu and looking for a good plate lunch, you should check this spot out.

Last year my friend raved about this place. He was going to bring me a plate but it was closed that day. Sadly, my friend passed away, so I made it a priority to honor his memory by eating at one of his favorite places! Scoopers makes a good plate lunch at a good price. You have a choice of a mix plate (2 choices, $13), regular ($11), mini ($9), or micro ($7). The plates come with a yummy brownie, and the mix plate also comes with a can drink. There's an extra charge for paying with a credit card, but no tax if you pay with cash. This is a good value. We are townies, so going out to Waipahu to get there early (open from 9am until they run out, usually before 1pm) was an event. Today, we tried the homemade hamburger steak, beef stew, shoyu chicken, and baked chicken. Everything was very good. I'm happy we made the drive. I can't say we'd go again (because of the distance from home), but we definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a solid local-style plate lunch.

Generous portion sizes - even the Mini and Micro sized servings are beyond adequate! The owner allowed me to sample a few options before I settled on the mildly seasoned Beef Curry, served with Rice + Mac Salad. Service was exceptional and ambiance was decidedly and unexpectedly industrial. So many regular customers coming in for their favorite specials!! As everything is already prepared, customers are in and out very quickly. INCREDIBLE VALUE AND QUALITY.

Beef Stew with Once Scoop of Rice & Macaroni & Green Salad
    S M.

I arrived at 11 am and they were already sold out on all their food except for the beef stew, so I bought the beef stew with once scoop of rice and macaroni salad and green salad, which came to $11. The server was very nice in explaining about what she got left and she gave so much that I was barely able to finish and the food was very good. This is a definitely a hidden cheap eats gem in Waipahu.

Mixed plate - Kalua pig and laulau
    Brennan H.

This place is sooo worth it! Such a good price for massive and delicious plate lunches! The mixed plate is worth it. Comes with a brownie and a drink. Such a deal for $13! They give so much food! Their laulau was sooo delicious and their kalua pig is homemade and had a great smoke flavor. Their mac salad is also homemade and tasted good. Their brownie and haupia were good to end the meal with. I couldn't finish the entire thing, so I had 2 meals from this plate lunch! Definitely give it a try because it's so worth it for the price!

They're located inside the Donquijote Food Court and have ample seating inside as well as outside. I went with the Wagyu burger, fries, and tossed salad, and all three were very tasty. The burger was juicy and flavorful, the fries were salty and crispy on the outside, and the tossed salad was light and the dressing paired perfectly with it. One thing to keep in mind: they make everything fresh to order, so the wait can be a little longer than your typical quick-service spot. I actually think the freshness is worth the extra time, but it's something to be aware of if you're in a hurry. Also tried the Apple Mint Mojito, which was delicious--light, refreshing, and a great complement to the burger. One tip: If you prefer your burger more well-done, definitely let them know when you order. The burger can come out on the rarer/juicier side, so communicate your preferred doneness upfront. Overall, a tasty meal with quality ingredients and a nice made-to-order feel. 5/5 stars and I'd definitely come back.

Just right beside the Don Quijote food court is a cute place called Naks Cafe as this cozy spot offers quite the extensive menu from pasta, sandwiches and various plates though it all sounds amazing the prices were quite up there as well knowing that times are tough I couldn't see myself having French toast bites for $16.85 but badly need to refuel after a long day of errands. Seeing that they had soup of the day sounded very comforting and it was Japanese Corn Soup sounded perfect it was that along with a cup of Apple Mint Mojito sounded like the perfect combo strange as it may sound but I did enjoy it. The staff was very friendly as they brought out my items to me as I waited outside at the food court not just as it's a tiny place but no air-condition at all as it was very hot and humid in there was quite concerning and hope they have a fan or something to keep them cool which the drink certainly did that for me and I really enjoyed this refreshing sip. As for the soup it was very nice and hot and had a nice light flavor it just tasted like the instant soup I get from the store it wasn't like the corn was fresh especially since it claims to be house-made I was slightly disappointed but did come with two little pieces of garlic bread which did elevate it more still couldn't save my disappointment considering it was $9.85 over $17 with my drink, it gave me the much needed comfort as I just wanted some hot soup which I was so happy to find in the convenience right beside Don Quijote food court. Thank you!

The broth was good, but the noodles were lukewarm and a bit mushy. And they give you a really small portion for what you're paying for. The meats (pork and chicken) were especially tough and chewy.
