2006 Cameo - White Rhone Blend 2006 Cerise French Camp Vineyard - Red Rhone Blend 2006 Grenache 2004 Syrah 2005 Cabernet Franc Paso del Sol 2006 Petite Syrah French Camp Vineyard Anglim Winery is a small, family-owned label producing vineyard-designate Rhone varietals and blends plus limited-release Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is owned and operated by Steve and Steffanie Anglim based out of Paso Robles. This was a structured tasting of 6 wines. The first wine, 2006 Cameo is a white rhone blend of Marsanne, Viognier, and Roussanne. All three of those grapes make for a beautiful blend and structure. In the french style the wines show pear and citrus with a strong acidity and mineral content. The price of the wine is $22.00 per. This would be a perfect roast chicken wine. The second wine 2006 Cerise is a red rhone blend. Rhone blends always score really high on my Paso Robles radar and this one is no different. $24.00 per bottle is a great great price of this wine. The wine is a blend of Mourvedre, Syrah and Grenache. Cherry, boysenberry, and star anise. With a tart finish on the palate. Rhone Blends can go with just about anything from Stews or Barbecue to a comfy chair and a glass in your hand. The third wine 2006 Grenache is just one of my all time favorite varietals. There is red cherry and raspberry, hints of tobacco and a good amount of spice on the finish. $24.00 per bottle is a good deal. The next 2 wines 2004 Syrah and 2005 Cabernet Franc. Were both really beefy and strong. The syrah is high in alcohol content with 15.4% and the Cab. Franc was 14.8%. Not exactly my cup of tea for either of those varietals. Possibly with a food pairing might calm either wines down a bit. Syrah was priced at $24.00 per while the Cab. Franc was at $32.00. The last wine which is slowly becoming a sneaky favorite of mine, 2006 Petite Sirah. Was a beautiful inky wine showing jammy dark berry fruit and petroleum overtones. A tad on the beefy side and alcohol side as well at 15.2%. I have been pairing certain Petite Syrahs with raw Toro Tuna. When the wine has a good amount of acidity it seems to blend well with the fattiness of the fish. The Anglim though would not pair that well. The wine does not carry enough of that acidity on the palate. Overall a nice wine, just not the one I am looking for. Price was $24.00 per. I did not get to meet the owner because I got to the tasting a little late. Overall all the wines were very interesting and well priced. Certain wine merchants in Los Angeles should carry the wines. I purchased them at California Wine and Cheese. Give Them A Try Cheers!

Once I heard what happened I was more sad but happy to hear the new owner wants to continue Vina Robles. I wish as a member I would have gotten notified. Went to their new location which was really convenient since we were going to other wineries near there. It's still a big location. Plenty of seating and they still offer food which we were happy about. Our server was super sweet and knowledgeable which I always appreciate when it comes to wine. We started a tasting and then just tried whatever she gave us which we weren't complaining. Haha. All the wine she was giving us was really good. I was really impressed by their food. I wanted more of everything. We got their bruschetta al Fresco, hummus, monte Bianca pizza, and one other pizza. I fell in love with their bruschetta. We got there right as there kitchen closed which was a bummer because I wanted more. Overall, I still enjoy their wine. Their location is really nice. Food is delicious. I will conintue being a member and will stop by anytime I am in the area.

I booked it online and then reserved online in their website. No phone call was needed. We reserved noon on Saturday and after all of our party arrived we went upstairs to our lovely comfy leather sofas to settle in for the duration. We were given 4 pizzas of our choice and 4 salads and served buffet style so everyone could load their plate. We also added 3 orders of yummy meatballs. I cut them in half for serving. Artichoke hearts appetizer, charcuterie board and more. They provided juice boxes for the little boys in our party. The food was more than enough for Lunch. We could have fed more people and we took home a lot of pizza. The Italian sausage pizza was very good but we had the hot honey on the side as none of the group was interested in it. The wine was good, as usual. I had only whites. The rest of the group had the standard white then red tasting. The sparkling rose is also very good and upstairs you have dedicated bottle server. Service was excellent. They had live music downstairs and a market event going with vendors selling goods for the holiday season. I love this venue and will return soon. Improvement needed. Buy some large paper plates for the buffet lunch. It's a shared food event. All we had was tiny appetizer plates. We asked for larger but they had none. ** edit. Update. The manager replied and has ordered larger plates so I'm happy to hear this. We are already talking about coming back again. Dec 18, 2025 The Cesar salad had nice shaved cheese but no salad dressing.

We are the type of members who always take great care of the staff and rarely leave without purchasing extra bottles, yet today we were treated like an inconvenience. Despite being told in the past that spontaneous visits were no problem for members, we were turned away on a gloomy Monday with plenty of open tables. The host at the entrance was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even let us finish our sentence before cutting us off. We were told our only options were to come back in an hour, a "limited" tasting, drive all the way downtown, or just pick up our shipment and leave. We asked for the Wine Club Manager to resolve the situation, but she wasn't on-site. To be offered a "partial" tasting as a favor after nearly ten years of support was the final straw. It feels as though they now prioritize "closing" new members over honoring the people who have supported them for years. They've gone mainstream and lost the personal touch that made them special.

When I see 5 star businesses, especially if they are small local businesses, I do my best to visit,…read moresupport, and learn what makes them so successful. Quality/Quantity - After tasting a few wines, I settled on a glass of Pinot Noir. Atmosphere - Small tasting room, bar, indoor, and outdoor seating. Plus tasting. Got lucky, as today they were bottling so we got to experience that a little. And due to the small size, they bottle via a trailer; see pictures. Plenty of Tin City parking, as we got here late and right before closing. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 5pm. Service - Emma was perfect. As usual, we were the only customers. We got all the attention. It felt like we were all just hanging out. (Or she was just so bored, lol). She shared so much information about the winery and Paso Robles. We compared stories and wineries, etc. Lastly, she gave us a tour of the facility as the production just ended. This was unexpected and really appreciated. Price - $18 + generous tip. I just got a glass of their Pinot Noir. Tastings are $20 a person and waived with two bottle purchases. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success at this location since 2019. I can see why you are 5 stars; great service culture.

They were happy to accept us as walk-ins, and offered us our choice of seating. They have outdoor seating and indoor standing tastings at the bar, since we didn't have too much time we opted for a bar tasting with Kirsten (the wife of one of the owners). It was great learning about the wines, and the area of France that they are inspired by. The wines here are a little different than most you see in Paso, they have a lot of white wine and do a decent amount of skin contact on some of them. Some of the wines reminded me of natural wine, which I'm not the biggest fan of, but I know a lot of people who love them. I ended up leaving with a bottle of their 100% Pinot Blanc, a little sweeter than something I would usually go for, but I'm excited to drink it on a nice summer day!

Being able to enjoy some of their older vintages this way makes the experience even more special for wine enthusiasts. What I appreciate most about DAOU is how they've managed to maintain a small, family-style atmosphere despite being acquired by a larger company a few years ago. The hospitality still feels personal and genuine. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, not only about the wines themselves but also about the history of the vineyard and the vision behind it. I'm a big fan of this winery and how it has evolved over the years. Between the stunning views, exceptional wines, and welcoming staff, DAOU is always a must-stop whenever visiting Paso Robles.

I believe sometimes companies have off days, and employees may have a bad day, which can affect one's experience, thus I dont let one bad experience ruin a company's review. But when it comes to my CHILD, you best believe i will never forgive and forget or let our experience be forgotten. We visited this winery expecting a relaxing, family-friendly experience and instead left with our daughter crying after being scratched in the face near her eye by the owner's off-leash dog. What makes this especially frustrating is that the winery's own rules state dogs must be leashed, yet the owners' dogs were roaming the property freely. Our daughter was calmly petting one of the dogs with me standing directly beside her when the dog suddenly growled and scratched her across the face. This was completely unprovoked and witnessed by the owner himself, who said absolutely nothing afterward. No apology, no concern, no accountability. An employee later approached us and said, "Sorry, he's old and maybe didn't like that she was the same height as him, which made him react".....which felt less like accountability and more like an absurd attempt to excuse why a reactive dog was allowed to roam off leash around guests and children. We also observed the dogs behaving territorially toward other leashed dogs on the property, making it even more inappropriate that they were allowed off leash in a public setting. My father-in-law is a VERY well known, well respected, and prominent winemaker in Virginia and across the United States, if you know anything about wine, you know him. So lets say, we understand winery culture and hospitality, fairly well. Had something like this happened on his property, it would have been handled immediately and professionally with genuine concern for the injured guest.....especially a child. Watching the owner casually continue on in his conversation with whomever, and pet the dog like nothing happened while our daughter screamed and cried was honestly unbelievable. In my opinion, not worth the visit for the subpar wine, if you want to take your children/dog somewhere. The poodles were friendly to me, and other adults, until we saw their behavior to other dogs & then my child....The complete lack of concern from ownership after a child was injured was shocking. Frankly, they are fortunate we chose not to escalate the situation further. Parents should absolutely be cautious visiting here with children or pets. An off-leash dog with territorial behavior has no place interacting freely with guests. Absolutely shocked and the owner should be ashamed of his actions & response (or lack there of) to the situation.
