    After a Gel-X removal
    Ashley C.

I stumbled across this place since it was the closest. I came for where a Gel-X removal although, during the duration of the removal the husband of this place made sure to ask if I was in pain consistently to make sure he wasn't injuring me. Even still he wouldn't force the nail to come off with just brute force. He slowly worked his way at it. I basically had a full set on still but he managed protect the integrity of my nail and even polished it up and cut my cuticles! It did take a long time to remove however I'd take that over any day than flimsy ripped nails. For $12 you can't beat that.

DVD was so friend and was great conversation. Really made my time there relaxing and comfortable. He did such a great job on pedicure. I'd recommend going. Even on a rain day they were open with service and a smile.

I went to this place to try it out since it's so close to my home and they were open late. I called around 5:10 asking what time they close, instead of a time I got asked when can I come in. Said I could be there in 20 and was told no problem. I get there a little late and was honestly expecting to be told they were closing and didn't have time. I walk in and the place is incredibly outdated even by cheap nail salon standards. There's a gentleman working on who I assume is his wife as she immediately asked me to pick a color. Okay cool, pick my colors and I sit down. He finishes up with her and I go to show her my colors, she just tells me to give her the numbers. I sit down to start my nails (a brand new set) and I tell him what I looking for. As he's gluing the tips down, he flips my hand over and glues the underneath thus gluing my skin to my nails, should have been my first red flag but I didn't say anything. He begins to trim the tips and he says "coffin?" I say "no, short almond" he says okay and begins the process. As he's putting the acrylic on my nails, I notice that he's not taking any of the excess wet acrylic off. I'm no expert so I just brush it off no big deal. At this point my nails are looking BAD. I know that usually the acrylic application the nails can look a little rough, but I mean they were looking like lopsided lumpy COFFINS. I brush it off, like okay he'll fix it, we talked. During this process, he tells me my skin is on my hands is bad. I have pretty dry hands and the weather doesn't help, but it was incredibly rude to bluntly tell me I have bad skin on my hands. Now, I've been getting my nails done for a few years now and not once have I ever been told what he told me. He told me that I have two "weird fingers" with "wide beds." Again, I'm no expert but I know what wide nail beds look like and by no means do I have wide beds. As he begins shaping these nails, I show him a picture of what my inspo was. This inspo was of an acrylic overlay with gel that was shorter so I told him, this shape but a little longer. The shape was an almond shape. He told me you can't do that shape, it won't like good on your hands. Now, again, I've been getting my nails done for a long time and have done almond and stiletto and not once has any nail tech, even ones I've become good friends, have told me that that shape would not look nice on my hands. After everything was said and done, I paid, left a tip, and immediately went home and went to town with my own nail file to fix the countless mistakes. I should have taken pictures. My middle finger on my right hand is significantly shorter than my left and it looked like a Rocky Mountain! I showed my boyfriend and he said they look like they're about to "lift off" as in they were not shaped on the top properly. It's unfortunate that this place didn't live up to the expectations that yelp had led me to believe since it is a family owned business seeing as the gentleman who did my nails told me that they stay late waiting for their kids to get out of school. I'm sure this place is great for basic pedicures and gel, but acrylics...absolutely not. Also, I don't appreciate the unnecessary comments about my nails, skin, and hands. Save yourself the uncomfortable small talk and judgemental attitude and go across the street to Lily's Nail.

They're so ghetto and the nails suck. My friends nail split in half a day after getting them done.

We had the best time here this morning. We found Doki Doki on Yelp when looking for a nail salon…read morefor my daughter for prom. She looked at some photos and decided she wanted to come here. I called to make an appointment and was able to make one without any issues. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated. We had a bit of a wait because, it was prom. We met our friend from church here as well. My daughter went first since her nails were going to be way more involved. Chloe did her nails and did a fabulous job! They turned out absolutely amazing! They gave me a quote and I approved it, but it ended up being a little bit less. Our friend and I just got the deluxe gel manicures with the sugar scrub, lotion massage and paraffin wax with hot towel treatment. I was in heaven! Mia did my manicure and she was excellent! The place is super cute with pink and floral decor and playing great country music. They accept cards, cash and Zelle. $2 transaction fee for cards. Super easy to tip with Zelle as well. If you pay cash, they have a stamp program to get $20 off after you spend a certain amount and fill the stamp card. We will definitely be back! I think one of those pedicure chairs is calling my name!

**Don't waste your time or your time or money!…read more I booked a pedicure and Gel-X full set nearly a month in advance for a 9:30 a.m. appointment. I specifically requested that my pedicure and nails be done at the same time due to time constraints. When I arrived, they did not have a nail technician available for me or another client who also had an appointment. I had to ask for someone to at least start my pedicure. I was assigned to a new technician who struggled to understand my requests. My feet were not properly scrubbed, both big toes had to be repainted because the polish was uneven, and I had to remind her that my service included a massage. The pedicure alone took about an hour and a half. Once another technician became available, she began my Gel-X set. I showed her a photo of the exact design I wanted and specifically asked for silver gems only. She confirmed she could do the design. After completing the ombré base, which was only average at best, she informed me that the gem pricing would be: * Pointer fingers: $20 ($10 per nail) * Ring fingers: $30 ($15 per nail) * Pinkies: $10 ($5 per nail) Although I was shocked by the pricing, I had already been there for over two hours and felt committed to finishing the set, so I agreed. Only then did she tell me she didn't actually have the gems needed for the design she had already agreed to do. I was told to choose a different gem shape, a different color, or a completely different design. When I explained that I had shown the design beforehand and received confirmation that it could be done, the manager came over and told me the photo wasn't from their salon and that they had supposedly run out of the required gems that morning. At that point, I had been there for over three hours and was left with a mediocre pedicure and incomplete nails. I finally decided to leave. As I was leaving, another customer who had been waiting over 30 minutes for her appointment was told they could only do part of her service and that she would need to come back later. She left as well. My biggest issue isn't that they ran out of supplies. Things happen. The problem is the lack of organization, poor communication, questionable skill level, and refusal to take accountability. Clients should not have to spend hours in a salon only to find out halfway through a service that the technician cannot complete the design they agreed to perform. I won't be returning.
