CORN BREAD MUFFIN
dee l.

I came here on a Monday at 1:37 PM, and ordered a Korean cream cheese bun and a corn bread muffin to go. The cream cheese bun was just okay, but the muffin? Geez, it had no flavor and was extremely dry--as if it had been sitting out for several days! I had high expectations for this café, but unfortunately, the experience wasn't worth the trip.

PISTACHIO LOAF

First time trying this place. I gave 3 stars because the food was not that great and they gave me the wrong pizza slice . 5 stars for my banana pudding matcha 5 stars for the pistachio latte Food: Pistachio loaf- 2 stars it was so DRY I was excited to try it. Pistachio marshmallow cookie:-2 stars DRY the middle part was okay but I didn't even finish it. Margarita pizza: - 2 stars lacked flavor and it was like a dry cheese pizza slice no basil. Korean cream cheese bun- That was SOO SWEET. 1 star I thought it would be more garlicky but it tasted like straight frosting it was definitely not it! Disappointed The place is cute it's where cream use to be. The service is fine. I would probably come back for the matcha and coffee but I don't think I'll be trying any other food. :/ I was so excited to try this place too.

KOREAN CREAM CHEESE BUN, PIZZA BUN (Mozzarella & Beef Pepperoni), MARGARITA PIZZA

I recently stopped by Ananas with a few friends for the first time, and it was definitely worth the visit! They have a great variety of food and drinks to choose from. I ordered the Iced Coconut Cloud Matcha and the Pepperoni Pizza Bun, and we also shared the Cream Cheese Bun and the Margherita Pizza. The standout for me was the Cream Cheese Bun--it was absolutely delicious! I'm coming back just for that Ananas offers both indoor seating and a nice outdoor patio, so it's easy to find a spot whether you're meeting friends or just grabbing a quick bite. Overall, it was a great first experience. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend stopping by. I'll definitely be back to work my way through more of the menu!

LEBNI ZATAR TOAST and iced matcha latte

10/10 matcha 10/10 toast. The matcha was unsweetened which I loved because I got to taste the high quality flavors of the matcha they use. A good matcha is appreciated with no sweetener but you can always add sweetener. I love me a good Lebanese toast and this met my expectations, the bread was perfect taste and warmth. My husband has been telling me about this place for some time. I finally let tik tok convince me to drop in and the staff were so friendly and helpful. It wasn't busy on a weekend morning which was nice because we were there pretty early so we probably avoided the rush. I was excited to try this pastry(?) that I had seen online but I was a lil disappointed. Only because I was hoping it was savory rather than sweet but still good. The coffee was just ok to me but my husband loved his. I can't remember what he got but the person who we assumed is the owner, recommended something he drinks daily and he thought the flavor profile was smooth.

ICED STRAWBERRY MATCHA LATTE (oat milk, extra shot of matcha, light ice)
Stella N.

Trying to figure out my go to matcha spot in the "nut"... the matcha here was not bad, a little powdery, but gets the job done. However, the service is fantastic. Luna is beyond sweet, kind, patient, and understanding. I would come back simply for her. The pastries looked quite delicious so I may indulge. For now, enjoy this strawberry matcha with oat milk, extra shot of matcha, light ice, and no sugar.

This coffee shop was very cute. I've seen this place all over social media, and I've been wanting to try it for so long. I ordered the strawberry matcha, and it was really good. It had a nice, vibrant green color and wasn't overly milky, which I liked. The drink took a little while to come out, but I think the receipt didn't print for the barista. There's a decent amount of seating both inside and outside. They have lots of sweet and savory pastry options. I wanted to try the Korean cream bun because it looked enticing, but $16 seemed a bit pricey.

Decaf latte with almond milk and vanilla syrup

Cute new coffee spot in Walnut Creek! I had a decaf almond milk latte with vanilla syrup and my friend had a flat white. Love the decorations and stuffed animals. Indoor and outdoor seating available - we sat inside at the bar. Prices were a bit high. Service was friendly. Would come back if in the area. First review of 2026!

KOREAN CREAM CHEESE BUN

I dream about this Korean Cream Cheese Bun often. I have to get it every time I stop by every time I'm in Walnut Creek. It's so garlicky, creamy, and slightly sweet I cannot think of a more addicting combination. The service is always quick, they're always happy to explain what ingredients are in what drink, and I've never had trouble finding available seating. I love that they have indoor and outdoor seating, because of the great location. Glad it's in a quaint little spot amid the bustling shopping area!

I really wanted to like this place. I've given them time to correct certain things (the coffee needs desperately to be changed) . The coffee is terrible it's sour and watery. The coffee is not being pulled correctly and the flavors are not give the proper attention for a $9+ latte. The pastries were okay. Nothing mind blown. Nothing to come back for. The service was brutal. The girl at the front doesn't greet anyone. Doesn't care to elaborate on what anything is. Not friendly at all. We will not be back. We were influenced to come try it because of certain posts. However, maybe if they dropped Zolo coffee I'd consider ever visiting again. But it was a disappointing waste of time and money.

Peanut butter pretzel chocolate chip cookie
Kerry R.

A wonderful little coffee shop featuring an assortment of unique pastries. For someone who normally orders iced regardless of the weather, I really enjoyed their cardamom latte with oat milk. It was perfect for the cold weather. The peanut butter pretzel chocolate chip cookie was out of this world.. I do however believe that the barista should be reminded of basic hygiene and food safety standards when working especially after touching your face/beard. For that I docked a star.

Stumbled across the business while scrolling through TikTok, but came here physically while running errands in Walnut Creek. The shop is tucked away among other small businesses and parking options run along the streets of Downtown Walnut Creek. The place is well lit with a minimalist design. There are several spots to sit and relax and in my opinion this would be a nice place to catch up with a loved one or go on a coffee date. Staff here are super chill and work pretty quick -- my drink and food came out within minutes. I ordered the following: - Korean Cream Cheese Bagel (3.5/5): while this was delicious, it was left a quite heavy feeling compared to other places I've had the bagel at. I'd recommend sharing this with 1-2 other people just because it's a little overwhelming and a bit overpriced in my opinion (I've gotten this in other cities for about $5) - Iced Matcha Latte with Macadamia syrup (4/5): quality matcha with non-grainy texture and a rich flavor. The syrup added a flavor that balanced out the strong tea flavor of the matcha.

Rounding up my experience here. Was in the area and wanted to try a new coffee place, and Ananas Coffee popped up on Yelp. Great lighting in the space, and pretty sizable as well. There's indoor and outdoor seating. There were some pastries on display, and they all looked amazing. The coffee menu was a bit hard for me to read so I went with a cappuccino and a mocha. Missed Turkish coffee, otherwise I would have tried that. They have various smoothies and such here, but the menu just didn't pop to me. For pastries, I got a potato bun ($5, meh, ok, I thought it was fine, but my son and husband really didn't like it at all), Korean cream cheese bun (holy moly at $15 lol, it was so weird in a good way- a mix of savory and sweet, slightly sugared cream cheese with garlic and herb, sort of a not so dense bagel with cream cheese mixed with garlic bread or something), and a marshmallow cookie (around $7??? - pretty standard, didn't taste $7 worth to me). Glad I tried, but wow, a bit pricey for what everything was. I feel there's some lost opportunities here as the products are great on paper, and they have amazing real estate here. Maybe I'll go back and try a smoothie and a Turkish coffee. Service itself was fine. They took my order, I paid, and they let me know when my stuff was ready. Did to go, but they also have amazing looking avocado toasts and more for actual food items.

So what better place to dine in to celebrate out 2nd Year Wedding Anniversary at The Hideout Kitchen :) We went for dinner. Our server was KEVIN. Simply...HE IS JUST AWESOME. He knows the menu, he knows the history, and has amazing stories to share with everyone. Great guy. A lot of people there that night seemed to be celebrating something. The noise was a bit loud that I felt I had to almost yell to have a conversation with my husband. But the vibe was great. I enjoyed looking around at the decor. We ordered: - TRUFFLE FRIES for appetizers - I loved everything about it. haha. Tastey! - linguine & clams - I ordered this. It was good. However, I felt it was way oily. And after every bite I took, I had to wipe my mouth. And I accidentally spilled oil on my shirt. - PASTA ALLA CARBONE with steak - My husband enjoyed it and started to get full towards clearing out his bowl haha. - SCALLOPED POTATOES - I ordered a side of this. Definitely was not expecting to look the way it did, but I thought the presentation was beautiful. It was good; however, I was not a fan at how crunchy and hard the top first layer was. In a few areas, it was almost burnt. But I thought it was pretty good without the need for a type of sauce on the side. - For drinks, I had to Summer sangria and my husband had the Rumble in the Jungle. We enjoyed it. Definitely hit the spot. No complaints at all about these drinks. - And Kevin surprised us with a dessert to celebrate : Cranberry Bread Pudding. This was delicious. Very flavorful. I am not really into Cranberry, but this is definitely an exception. Loved the fruits on the side as well. The Hideout Kitchen will always have a place in our hearts. We will definitely come back. We still need to try this place out for Brunch. We need to try their UBE pancakes! hehehe. And thanks Kevin for being amazing that night!

Perhaps it was just me, but the menu didn't offer anything particularly exciting. We ordered the pork belly panini ($22) and a full wedge salad ($19). The pork belly had a crust that was nearly impossible to bite through, so I had to cut it off with a knife, leaving a thin layer of fat. The flavor was underwhelming as well. The blue cheese wedge salad had an unusual flavor that neither my wife nor I enjoyed, and we left most of it. Honestly, even Outback does a better job with their wedge salad. The Parmesan fries were the one standout. The beer selection was quite limited, although they did have a Dustbowl Taco Truck, which is a nice option. A few more beer choices would have been appreciated. On a positive note, Kary provided good service, and we appreciated her attentiveness. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience, and with so many great restaurants in town, I'm not sure we'd return. I do miss the old Cooperage that used to be here; we always enjoyed it much more.

I definitely appreciate the options for flights/tasting plates. My party had trio of pancakes and I was very tempted to do a coffee flight as well. So solid 4 stars for ambience and service. But the food was largely unimpressive, despite looking amazing. Definitely 5 stars for presentation tho. I had the green chilaquiles....the green sauce was very bland and the eggs were also unflavorful. I also tried the following pancakes: s'mores, lemon blueberry, cookie butter, and chocolate chip. The s'mores looked the best but the chocolate chip tasted the best. I also tried the steak frites which were also just sort of okay. Overall food was 3-4 stars. I ordered the melon mimosa and the breakfast nachos. I was really looking forward to the breakfast nachos because they sounded like they would be spicy with the chorizo and salsa. Unfortunately, I had to add a whole bunch of hot sauce to make it taste better but I still couldn't believe that the chorizo didn't taste like anything so much so that my five-year-old was able to eat it without saying that it had any iota of spice in it. My most recent visit fell far short of satisfactory and, indeed, posed a significant health risk…read moreby. My husband and I made a point of clearly communicating my severe nut allergy to our server. This critical information was reiterated on two subsequent occasions: first, when I opted for the salad after the tomato soup was unavailable, specifically noting the limited nut-free choices, and again, when my husband ordered the tiramisu cocktail. Given that we frequently share dishes, I inquired if the garnish on his drink contained nuts, prompting our server to verify with the bar and confirm its absence. We ordered the beef and lamb dumpling appetizer. The menu description for this item did not list any nut ingredients. Shortly after we began consuming the dish, my husband noted an unexpected crunchy texture. A query to another staff member, who then consulted our server, led to our server returning to our table and asking about my well-being. At this point, I was already experiencing a tingling sensation in my tongue, a clear indicator of an allergic reaction. When I directly asked if the dish contained nuts, our server confirmed the presence of pine nuts, responding with "I know, I'm sorry," when reminded of my previously stated allergy. This incident is profoundly disturbing. It highlights a critical lapse in the establishment's adherence to food safety protocols, specifically concerning allergen communication and staff training. The failure to accurately disclose all ingredients on your menu, coupled with the apparent disregard for my repeatedly communicated life-threatening allergy, is unacceptable and put my health, and potentially my life, at severe risk. My evening, which was intended to be a celebratory occasion, was instead marked by fear and distress. I expected a thorough investigation into this matter, a detailed explanation of the immediate and long-term steps the establishment planned to implement to rectify these deficiencies including improvements to the menu labeling practices, comprehensive and mandatory allergen awareness training for all staff, and a review of overall safety procedures to ensure such a dangerous oversight does not affect other patrons. Instead I got an email saying they would look into it and get back to me in a week. It's been almost 9 months.

Breakfast won. I met up with a friend here and I'll admit I was a little hesitant at first. I'm not a huge fan of overly sugary breakfasts, and for some reason I had it in my head that this was more of an Asian-fusion breakfast spot, which isn't really my thing. I was wrong. I ordered the Mexican scramble and it was pretty good. I will say it could have used some more seasonings and sabor especially for being a Mexican scramble. Mmm and how bout some cotija?? Huge portion, however and the hash browns were exactly how I like them; crispyyyy. Obviously I also ordered an espresso martini because... you know me. And my friend and I decided to share the Biscoff pancake. OMG. Listen. I woke up Sunday morning legitimately wondering if they would remember me if I came back two days in a row because I wanted that damn pancake again. It was THAT good. And this is coming from someone who doesn't even really like super sweet breakfast foods or Biscoff for that matter. Fluffy pancake, Biscoff drizzle, cookie crumbles, fruit, butter, syrup on the side... whewww. I'ma need another one this week. My only minor annoyance was the waitlist situation. I put our name down and was told about 10 minutes (they dont take reservations), so we walked around the shops next door. I gave them my phone number AND corrected/confirmed it twice, plus I received the initial text verifying I was on the waitlist. After about 15 minutes with no call or text, I finally walked back over to check. The hostess said, "Oh, we called you." Girl... where?! No missed call, no text, nothing. Thankfully I checked back in instead of continuing to browse. Once we were seated though, everything was great. Our server was hella funny and had us cracking up; especially when my friend ordered a scramble and then started asking how the eggs would be cooked and whether it even came with eggs. Sir was basically like... ma'am, you ordered a SCRAMBLE. LMAOOOO The whole vibe was on point. Music was perfect, decor was fun, everything was clean, and it actually felt like you were hanging out at a Breakfast Club. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised to find this vibe in Lafayette. The area needed a little unstuffing and The Breakfast Club understood the assignment. I'll definitely be back, mainly because that Biscoff pancake and I have unfinished business!
