I tried one thing here, so this review is based on that! Pekara was a charming and unassuming bakery. It felt very Eastern European and when we arrived around 10am, a lot of things were sold out. This is definitely more of a takeout spot, but you are able to sit there if you'd like. The person behind the cashier was really kind and patient. We tried the blueberry puff. And for what it's worth, this was the group's top pastry of the day. I love that they toasted it up for us. The pastry itself was buttery perfection and the custard inside was really nice. One of us bought sourdough bread to-go that seemed really delicious. I'd come back to this bakery to try more.

Jaydein's lovely personality infuses the whole place with his positive energy. He loves their cookies and gelato as much as I do and is still excited to suggest new flavours. Of course their Pignoli nut cookies are still my childhood favourite, but tonight we were wowed by the slim round Raisin Walnut Cookies located on the top shelf to the far right. I had to park in a more residential section and walk over. The outside is very unassuming, but the the inside is very clean and aesthetic. The espresso was mild and the spices were similar to a chai. The matcha was high quality and creamy, and they had the option for non-dairy milks!
