    Chorizo torta. It's big!
    Michelle W.

I had walked past this place many times and always assumed that it was a regular hole-in-the-wall coffee shop. Boy was I wrong! It's legit for Mexican food. They have a hand-written menu on the wall: tortas, tostadas, tacos, tamales. It's pretty solid! The torta was huge and despite ordering it to go and walking home, the bread stayed crisp (always a plus!). I ordered the chorizo torta. The bread is nice a crusty and the whole sandwich held up well and didn't get soggy at the end (but then again, I ate it pretty quickly) Only a couple of issues that has kept it a 3 star experience: the chorizo had lumps in it, like I'd occasionally bit into something that was a bit harder (??)...Also, I would have liked the chorizo to be a tad bit more flavorful. I'd be interested in going back to try try tamales which are supposed to be fab, and perhaps another torta of a different variety.

My husband just wanted a coffee. We decided to grab a little to eat after we came in and saw that they served food. My spouse got a wrap of some sort, which he devoured. I wasn't in the mood for Mexican food but my breakfast bagel sandwich (bacon, egg, and cheese) was good. Cheap meal, nice and friendly service.

I have to stop there everytime I'm in Aberdeen. Love the muffins, granola and soup! I also had their sandwiches they are delicious too! I just ordered a cake can't wait to try it! I also want to try their prepared meals I'm sure those a good too!

These tamales are my favorite lunchtime treat, and the tortas are huge and cheesy and delicious. Get there early before tamales sell out!

The interior is very spacious and can host both large family/parties and smaller intimate diners. We shared a ceviche for an appetizer and it was fresh and the right amount of spicy. I ended up getting the chicken mole for my main and it was so deeply flavored and delicious. My boyfriend also enjoyed his vegetarian tamale which was served with a spicy roja sauce. Sterling our server was very sweet and attentive. They were so nice and brought out birthday dessert flan for me, candle and all. Would absolutely recommend La Calle in Fells Point to anyone looking for a nice intimate dinner or booking out a big party.

The house margaritas and El Diablo cocktails were fantastic. We split a few dishes: the queso fundido, which was fantastic, and the salmon ceviche was so soft and delicious. Our friends had the soup and the quesadillas and had nothing but good things to say about them. Can't wait to come back!

Parking is difficult as it is only street parking with no parking lot and limited street parking as it is. We were there early and even then it was hard to get a table at 5:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday. We got a table in one of the rooms off to the side and though it was loud you could hear yourself talk with the people in your party. Since it was during happy hour we were able to get drinks at a slightly reduced price and I had the cilantro honey Margarita which was outstanding. Our friend got a Paloma and another friend had just a regular margarita. They were different in color and taste but were really good. We started out with guacamole and chips and the guac was delicious. We were charged for chips and addition and I would have thought that if we were ordering guacamole that the chips would have come with it but it did not, it was an extra charge. For our main entrees, I ordered a ceviche with shrimp, octopus, and sea bass and it didn't come as I'm used to as there was a container of white sauce in the middle which was good I just didn't pour it all over the ceviche and dipped in instead. The ceviche was really good and very filling and meal in itself. The others in the party got tacos and a burrito and both looked amazing. I was still hungry enough to have dessert and I had a Choco Taco which was good though on the small side and it looked like it just came out of the freezer and didn't have to be made. My friend ordered the flan and she's gluten free and it looked delicious and tasted delicious but it took a while to prepare. Just so you are aware, they add 20% on to your check regardless of the party size. That's fine as that's what I would have given anyway. All in all for the food that we had it was reasonably priced. I didn't see anything outrageously priced in their menu and I highly recommend Clavel and I will be back in the future.

Their salsa is warm (temperature, not spice) because of the way it is prepared. We've had the fundito before but I prefer not to get that because it is too filling! The tacos are great- really good ingredients, you can add on things like pickled vegetables and beans. Definitely makes a very filling meal! We went for HH to get their delicious margaritas on discount. The service is always great, bartenders are super nice. The bar area is not huge so get there early for a spot. Even getting a table can be hard sometimes as they get busy!

Each taco is extremely fresh and I can tell that it was crafted meticulously in the kitchen. Be mindful that each taco is priced separately and you get a single taco ranging from $10.00 - 15.00. The guacamole is fresh and garnished with strawberries. Personally, I typically go for a spicier and more flavorful guac, but if you opt for a fresh and simple dish, then it certainly checks the box. The queso is thick, cheesy, and topped with peppers. I personally could appreciate a creamier queso, but I will say the dish looks and smells amazing. The oysters are rather small in size but they're extremely fresh and come topped with a jalapeño. My expectations for the drinks were a bit higher than what they delivered. Drinks tasted a bit watery and the flavor wasn't as potent (this says a lot for someone like myself who is pretty light weight). Service was fairly accommodating, however, keep in mind that they enforce a rule of having half of your party there prior to seating you. Also be mindful that their menu changes to dinner at 5:00PM, and seating at the outside bar may be closed depending on when you arrive. My favorite of all the dishes was the was the Al Pastor taco! I'd like to give this place another try because just based off of the aesthetic alone it has sooo much potential to be absolutely amazing!

Don't let the outside deceive you. Once you walk in you'll smell the fresh cilantro and chile. It took a bit to translate the menu, but you'll figure it out. There are plenty of options. The server helped us figure it out and we were set. I ordered the El pastor tacos, beans & rice, and tortilla chips. The tacos were theeee best! What I loved the most is that the corn tortillas didn't fall apart!!! I hate it when I go to eat a taco and it falls apart. They cooked the tortillas enough so they held up, but were still soft. Did I already say how good the tacos were?! Along with the meat is cilantro, some onions, and you can top it with some green chili sauce. Sooooo good! The pico de Gallo was some of the best I've ever had. I know what you're thinking. How could you go wrong with pico de Gallo? Yeah, I wonder the same thing, but this pico was FRESH with just the right ratio of tomato, onion, cilantro, etc. Next time I'll order two of them. The chips are restaurant-made. That was our first indicator that the food was going to be ALL that we hoped it would be. AND it was. The beans were pinto beans. Memories from home and the ultimate comfort food. The were cooked perfectly with just enough seasoning. The rice was perfectly cooked too. This is the taco spot you need to try.

I definitely got my money's worth. Experience: Wonderful server. Even in a busy dinner cycle, she came over and literally started to hand me a menu almost right as I sat down. Even gave me a great recommendation for the Enchilada platter and brought the holster of extras over to the table as well. The food was delivered quickly, and the small details (utensils, cleanliness, chair organization etc.) were great. Taste: Honestly this place is a standout for seasoning. It's flavorful, unique, and skewed towards spices over oil. Tasteful impact, without the baggage. A gem. Even among so many other restaurants serving this cuisine in the area I've tried, this is a standout. I'll come eat here again. You should too. My happy hour app was rung up as regular price. The hard shell bean tacos I ordered had very little beans in them and only beans, no other toppings. There was lettuce, tomato, and cheese on the plate on the side, so I had to dress my own tacos. They tasted okay, not great, not bad. The $6 Monday margaritas are for the 12 oz and are made strong. It's a $1 more for a flavor and $1 more for a larger size (16 oz). The men's bathroom is small and had two urinals that are right next to the bathroom door. I will probably stick with my usual spot in Laurel, called Chido's.
