Visiting from California. Felt like tacos after a disappointing Italian outing. This place is Legit! did not disappoint. Tacos are a regular size. Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus) was delicious & well made! The red spicy salsa was perfectly spicy! Green salsa was tasty too. Recommend! ( All food is To Go.)
I really wanted to LOVE this food because of the reviews, but I was sadly mistaken. The server/cook was very pleasant. Took my order and kindly asked for 10 minutes. I wanted onions and peppers on my quesadilla, but it doesn't come with it. I then asked the young lady what does the fajita and tacos come with, and she explained. After listening to the ingredients, I asked if I could pay extra for the onions and peppers to be added to my quesadilla. The young lady agreed. I left and came back 10 minutes later and my food was fresh and ready. I was so excited. I got to the car, in which I bit into a soggy and rubbery quesadilla because the liquid from the sauce spilled in the container. The actual tortilla was awful. It was rubbery and flavorless and hard to digest and wasn't really grilled like other quesadillas I've had. The meat wasn't seasoned well, and the cheese was rubbery and lacked flavor. The chips were hard with no sauce. The best thing about the experience was her being kind. The food was definitely not something I'd ever try again, but I would recommend other people try it and form their own opinion.
Everyone talks about it here non-stop because everyone (whether rightfully or not) has an opinion of where to find the best tacos are in the city. So I stopped here one afternoon with my SO. He ordered three of the meat tacos (I don't remember which ones) and I ordered the veggie burrito. He clarified that they were indeed authentically good because they used two tortilla soft shells instead of one. Although he did say they were lacking in the sauce. You can purchase sour cream, hot sauce, and what not on the side which could have easily fixed that. The veggie burrito was a hella better than I anticipated it being. It was well seasoned and I'd gladly get it again. It's the size of a stomach so best to eat only a half at a a time. I'd recommend getting the food to go. The ambiance is non-existent and people come here just for the food and the Mexican coca colas. Walk a few blocks south and enjoy the food at Patterson Park. My only complaint is that they use styrofoam to package everything. If they found something more sustainable or even recyclable I would be so much more pleased.
If I could, I'll give 10 So happy I found a place to eat AUTHENTIC mexican food, I will definitely take the drive here to eat. If you really want to try authentic quesadillas, tacos the way it supposed to taste, spicy salsa if you are into to give an extra kick to your meal. I'm beyond excited to to show you why this place took 5 star reviews: Al pastor tacos: comes with 2 tortillas, chopped onion and cilantro Tacos: chopped onion and cilantro, lime, nopal, spring onion, radish and cucumber Quesadillas: completely freshly made, corn long tortilla and the best thing is that in 7 years I've been living in MD is the first time I found huitlacoche which Mexican caviar Home made chips, even though they were colder than most places, the fact this ones are made here took an extra star. The fresh flavored water did not disappoints either, I had horchata and I'm crazy picky about this, I can tell when is from the bottle and when is made at the place. No, they don't serve vegan No, it's not a hipster place No, it's not TexMex No, don't come looking for a fancy spot No, don't ask for wifi No, is not that big.
A hole in the wall for great Mexican food! A fellow yelper recommended this place and my friends and I came after a yelp event. I ordered the chicken enchilada with green sauce that came with a side of rice and black beans and my mouth exploded with flavors. So delicious is all I can say. I tried a bit of my friends Horchata drink and that was the best version I've ever tasted. It was not too sweet. The tres leche cake was amazing. Overall a great place for great food. Can't say more.

Typical Hispanic small restaurant. There is zero atmosphere. It's messy and somewhat unclean appearing. I ordered the tacos de cabeza. The meat was super fatty without much acidity. This made for an unbalanced flavor profile. While the meat was tender, I quickly grew tired of the heaviness of the beef fat in the tacos. The tortillas are mediocre. I found the corn tortillas to be gritty. There aren't many great places in this area. Tijuana had decent execution with poor flavor and texture balancing.
Tijuana Tacos 3 specializes in more than just delightful tacos. They also offer variety of Mexican delicacies, my favorite of which are their Chilaquiles. Chilaquiles are essentially layers upon layers of corn tortillas and queso with a sauce of your choice (I always go green) and finally, topped with two eggs - it's a wonderfully comforting and warm brunch/lunch. I always pair my order of Chilaquiles with one of Tijuana Tacos' freshly made ricas aguas. They have an extensive list to choose from and I've sampled most of them, you really can't go wrong. I am particularly fond of the cantaloupe or melon. Not overly sweet and perfect to wash a meal down. Another menu favorite is the Torta (essentially a massive sandwich stuffed with a protein of your choice plus beans, cheese, avocados, peppers, etc). Regardless of what you order, the portions are large (I can always can make two meals from one entree). With respect to pickup/take out - the staff is consistently friendly as well as masked and gloved. You can tell safety is a priority as there is signage indicating masks are required and social distancing of 6 ft is requested. Our takeout order is always made on time/quickly. This place has been a go-to for us during quarantine (it's dangerously convenient to my home).
This is the greatest Mexican food in Bmore. It's a order to-go kind of place. I've had the chicken tacos, chicken burrito, horchata, and the tres leches cake. OMG, this place is authentic and the food is delicious. The horchata is made the right way, and the tres leches cake isn't dry- it's always moist. The chicken tacos and burrito are great as well. The red sauce is the hottest and the best sauce. They speak minimal English, but can understand an order over the phone. You gotta try the food. Attached is the menu.

Authentic food, and I love the tacos. This particular spot is in a good area near Patterson Pk. Don't hesitate to come in. The staff is very pleasant and will explain the menu

Found this gem when i was out walking and I got the tacos, sope and flan. The flan was a decent size, very moist and so good. The tacos were super filling and the sopes tased so good with the sauces. i will definitely be back. this is a nice go to taco spot! staff was great and had no problem explaining the menu and what they had out on display read more

Of course as soon as I got in I ordered ice cold Horchata...ahhh! After a grueling morning working on rehabbing our house, it was a welcome treat! Staff as usual are friendly and accommodating. The tacos were freshly made and so tasty. Can't get a more authentic Mexican food anywhere -price and food is perfect! read more

Yes, it's another adventure of the Yelper and LoML, heh. No reason for going out this time - we do it on a whim, on occasion. We were looking through Yelp for cheap eats, and LoML found this place - he absolutely adores Mexican food. He also adores saving money. So when you put two and two together, you're a math whiz. :p Anyhow, we got there and we weren't even sure the place was open at first - it's a tiny little storefront with the entrance on Potomac Street. The "Open" sign in the window was off and it looked... well, pretty deserted. We looked at one another uneasily, but decided to try anyhow. Now, ladies and gentlemen, I can only say one thing - this place is an absolute dive. And when I say dive, I MEAN "hole in the wall", only I think this might qualify as a crack in the bricks. It's small, tiny, incredibly cramped - and yet, they have plenty of room for tables and chairs, a counter, and a HUGE display case full of Mexican desserts and ingredients. Oh, yeah. This is going to be good, I know it already. The experience got off to a great start with homemade chips and spicy salsa verde. And I do mean SPICY. Steam was coming out of my ears. LoML ordered the sopes de pollo loco (marinated chicken), and I ordered 2 chorizo tacos with Mexican rice (arroz). What came out exceeded our expectations and then some. The tacos were easily the most flavorful, melt-in-my-mouth deliciousness that I've ever had in my obviously sheltered lifetime. And the rice was so...freaking....delicious. Not salty, but not flavorless, either. LoML's sopes, from what little I tried, was also really good. The beans were the right consistency (not mushy at all!) and the chicken was incredible. I'm not at all a fan of Mexican food in general, but these dishes have gone a long way to change my mind. A LONG way. Best part about it? Two full meals (and I do mean full, we were stuffed) with drinks and dessert was all of 22 dollars. From what I hear about the prices at Tortilleria Sinaloa, we couldn't even get close as far as value is concerned. There's no "ambiance" here. There's no polished wood floors and fancy cocktail glasses, no perky little blonde waitresses, no fancy china or hipster music blaring out of carefully placed speakers. What you WILL find here is cheap tables and chairs, three sweaty Mexican guys working behind the counter and on the grill (and they were extremely sweet, by the way - very friendly and personable!), and a laptop tuned to Pandora, with a silent TV in the corner showing Telemundo or futbol games. This place reminds of me old Baltimore - and if you've read my reviews, you know that's exactly what we like and want. I didn't know that there were other locations. But this is the one we're going to come to when we want authentic, real Mexican food. read more

I come from the land of Mexican Food Paradise (San Diego) and for Mexican food this place is as good as Baltimore will get unfortunately... The food was good, but still a far cry from the amazing Mexican food I ate almost daily in SD. The prices are really steep for a hole in the wall Mexican Food place. Maybe the further away you are from Mexico the more expensive food gets??? If I am in the area and really need a Mexican Food fix, then I will get something from here. But I really wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. read more
I have to admit that although I am not surprised by the 41/2 star rating of this place... I am particularly surprised by how many people have reviewed it. My new roommate and I are Mexican food lovers, so we thought let's Yelp the area and see what we can find. Tijuana Tacos had rave reviews so we decided to take a stroll and get some tacos. Upon arrival, I was surprised to see that it's exterior was a bit rundown and could totally turn people away. But let me tell you.. the food is so totally worth it! The chips and salsa (FRESH SALSA) was delectable. Just the right hint of salty/fresh combination. I ordered a taco salad which was amazingly delicious. It was a huge portion, with a heaping pile of Avocado. If anyone here is an avocado lover, you know that most places are pretty sparse with their avocado servings because it can get expensive to buy. My roommate had the pork burrito, which was soaked and marinated in some sort of juice. The service was super friendly and I rather enjoyed eating that entire taco salad! Don't let the cover of the book fool you, because this place will blow your mind! WAIT... and I just found out.. THEY DELIVER?! read more
Wow! I was shocked at how good the Al Pastor meat is... It is marinated pork and is super tasty. I got it in a burrito and it was huge and delicious. Surprisingly not messy at all, in fact it was one of the nicest put together burrito I have ever had. Burrito came with rice (little under cooked, but edible) and two small salsas, one red, one green. They weren't amazing, kinda wish I got sour cream too/instead. Also got a side of guacamole and chips (because I had to get over the $10 delivery minimum) and holy cow! I'm never going to be able to finish this tub of guac! It's very fresh tasting and has a kick to it. Really good! And you get your money's worth for sure. My only complaint is the chips... They are really, really thick... Too thick. I realize they are homemade but they just are too much. I think it takes away from the taste and texture of the guac. I actually wish I had a bag of tortillas at home because it would be so much better. Overall, I agree with everyone else that it is pricey and can add up quick, but check out the pictures I posted... You get soooooooooooooooooo much food. It's kinda ridiculous and totally worth the money. read more

Mexican food can be sparse/disappointing inn Baltimore, however, this place is the exception! This place has a healthy online order and carry out business. You can see Spanish speakers ordering from this place too so it must be legit, right?! You can eat I'm the location but the dinning area is nothing special- plan on carryout! My friends and I have had a little of everything tacos, tortas, and nachos. My personal favorite are the nachos especiales. They do have the standard desserts to select too. I would classify this place as a hole-in-the-wall. However I can say with confidence that their cleanliness/food prep is up to snuff. I wanted to give a 5 stars but major ding for saying my order would be ready in 20 min...not 45 min... read more
If only they had margaritas! I came on the recommendation of helper yelpers. My order: guacamole with chips, chile rellenos. I was hoping so, SO hard that - for once - somebody could cook me some rellenos. The answer? Unequivocally, yes. The batter was excellent, cheese tasty, sauce was interesting - and even the peppers themselves tasted great. I am so thrilled! The black beans had an excellent flavor and were cooked well. The texture was exactly right. The rice was seasoned well - mix it with some relleno sauce and eat it all up. Guacamole was limey, which was...good. I prefer a bit of a stronger cilantro flavor in guacamole, but I did like it a lot. The chips are thick and crunchy. They're great for dipping since they're sturdy enough to load up. Service was fast. I got my order to go, it's kind of a squeeze in the divey restaurant. I know I'm coming back. I'm very satisfied for a first visit. read more

Veggie options available, though I wasn't sure if I could make some things just bean filling. I had the bean chalupas and they came in a trio and were super filling. Fresh flavors and I loved the chips and salsa. They bring out a huge glass of water, perfect for a hot summer day. Enjoyed the authenticity and Spanish menu. read more

Oh man, nothing but good things to say here. My favorite tacos in the city hands down. We've tried them all; they were all amazing. You can get Al Pastor tacos at many locations in the city, but none as tasty as these. It's a dive and I wouldn't eat there, but grab your tacos to go and enjoy! read more
