Blue Moon Cafe - Capt Crunch French Toast with Turkey Sausage, scrambled Eggs, and Fresh Fruit!

The restaurant itself is small and cozy, so we had about a 30 minute wait, but it was worth it. We ordered the G&G Country Scramble, Sweet Baby Jesus, Cap'n Crunch French Toast, and the spicy crab, tomato, and pepper jack dish. The menu definitely has a Southern-style Maryland feel with things like crab, biscuits and gravy, and grits throughout. Portions are huge, and the food was rich, comforting, and very filling. We absolutely needed a nap afterward. The Cap'n Crunch French Toast was perfect to share for the table. I recommend eating it first while it is still crispy on the outside. Our table favorite was the G&G Country Scramble, followed closely by the Sweet Baby Jesus. I also tried the homemade lemonade and it was delicious. Service was great and the whole place had a warm, family-style atmosphere. One helpful thing to note, a 20% gratuity is automatically included on bills over $50, and they do not split checks. There were signs posted, but mentioning it here in case it helps others planning to visit.

The silver dollar pancakes were especially amazing--definitely a highlight of the meal. The portion sizes are very generous. They give you more than enough food--I didn't even get a chance to touch the Texas toast because I was already full. Honestly, one meal could easily be shared between two people. Overall, a delicious experience and I'll definitely be back!

It's aged and nothing fancy. I ordered shrimp and blueberry waffle. The food is made to order, be prepared to wait. I ordered a lemonade as well The food was very underwhelming for the price point. The waffle was soggy and the shrimp was poorly seasoned. The highlight of my visit was the service and lemonade. I would not visit this location again.

We aren't from Baltimore, and it was a little confusing finding it, as it's located inside a food court. We got here around 9 AM and it was empty, not really knowing what to expect, and most of the other restaurants were closed. The ambiance wasn't there, but again, we were there at 9 AM on a Sunday (so I'm intrigued to see what it's like when all restaurants in the food court are opened). What gave us full confidence to try it out was the fact that they have a Food Network logo on their menu, so we had to try! We both ordered the two piece tender chicken with buttermilk waffles. It came out HOT and wow, it was insanely good. Everything was fresh (we saw the guy breaded our pieces of chicken and fry them!), chicken was seasoned well, crispy, and succulent inside. The buttermilk waffle was fluffy, light, and not overly sweet (which I prefer!). Served with syrup and hot sauce. I had contemplated getting 3 tenders and I'm glad I didn't, as the 2 with the waffle was more than enough food. Great start to our little mini vacation in Baltimore :)

I had the Southern Slammer Sandwich (with the grits) and my sister had the Fried Chicken, Biscuit and Gravy Omelet (with the hash browns). We couldn't stop saying how good they were! The service was on point, everyone was very nice, and the noise level was fine. Here is something I literally have never experienced anywhere else: My sister has a couple of food allergies and she gave the waitress a piece of paper where she listed out what she can and cannot have. A few minutes later, a lovely young woman (I think she said she was a manager) came out and discussed the list with my sister in detail, just to make sure the restaurant got it exactly right. My sister almost cried! As far as timing goes: They don't take reservations, but they have an efficient system -- when you arrive, they take down your name and phone number, tell you how long the wait will be, and then text you when it's your turn. They told us 40 minutes but it turned out to be only 20, so it's good we hadn't wandered too far away. Next time we're in Baltimore, we'll definitely be back.

I've really tried to give this place grace, but I can't give it any more of my business. Of my…read moreseveral visits, the only consistently positive experience I've had is Jasmine's service. Even during busy times I've been where she was the only server working, she's always really pleasant and never made me feel rushed. This review is about tonight's experience. After picking up my order (by foot), I get home and see that someone named Maurice called to let me know only half my order was given to me (I believe he's the manager). I asked if he could just credit that portion of my order, and he said I'd have to do it through the app (there's not an option to do so). There was no offer to have the order delivered to me so I just walked back to pick it up. He did apologize for the inconvenience when he handed me the bag, and said he put a $10 card in the bag. When I got home and open up the food (dinner-sized scallops entree), they gave me the smallest scallops I'd ever seen, they were not pan-seared (or under-seared), were rubbery and had NO flavor. This was not worth the price, the inconvenience of walking a half-mile back to the restaurant for, and def not worth the $10 card that I'd have to spend $30 to unlock on an order that automatically includes gratuity. I hope if this happens to a patron in the future, they will consider having the order delivered, and at least throw in a complimentary appetizer or dessert if it's too much of a hassle to credit them. As for the food quality...i just want them to do better. The place is beautiful and I want them to succeed.

That made the environment interesting to say to the least. Plenty of seating for it to be a bar which was refreshing for Baltimore. Service was so so. It took quite a bit to get the bartender's attention but they were doing a lot so I get it. Food was good. The wings had great flavor but a few of my wings were not wings. They were just chicken balls with bones. Seeing those kind of turned me off and I didn't want eat anymore. So essentially, I left 4 wings on the plate because of how they looked. We also ordered crab dip. That was fantastic! The pita bread they used was so good! Warm with a slight crisp to it. Overall it was a bar, so I wasn't expecting much. I will definitely be going back for the other events the have during the week for something to do this winter.

I really appreciated her vibe, and I noticed that when food is ready, she actually comes out from behind the counter to hand-deliver it to customers. That kind of small gesture goes a long way. The place is mostly carry-out, but there are a few bar-style seats if you want to eat there. The menu isn't your typical fast food lineup either, they've got some creative, non-traditional options that definitely stand out. We tried the Jerk Chicken Cheesesteak, Fried Chicken Sandwich, 1908 Chicken Cheesesteak, and Fish Tacos, and they were all delicious. Seriously, everything was seasoned well and packed with flavor, with the exception of our fries, which isn't the end of the world. The jerk cheesesteak had a nice kick without being too spicy, and the fried chicken sandwich had the perfect crunch. For drinks, we had the Strawberry Lemonade and the Peach Half & Half, both were refreshing and hit that perfect sweet spot without being too sugary. Overall, Café 1908 has a cool vibe, great food, and friendly service. It's one of those hidden gems you're glad you stumbled across.
