The pierogi at this place are fantastic and exactly how they should be made! Served with caramelized onions and brown butter, generously filled, and flavorful. The service is definitely gruff but they take care of you! They have Polish grocery staples as well as frozen soup and pierogi you can purchase. I'm dying to go back and try their dessert case, which hooked like a dream! This was the cozy comfort food I've been dreaming of, and it was such an unexpected find near the plant shop at the back of this food hall. I'll be back soon for sure! There isn't much seating, so don't count on being able to eat here, and it's a bit chaotic in the building, so taking it to go may be the move. We left very happy!

The food is amazing! Just like my Baba used to do. Usually come for Easter kielbasa, stay for the food! Do yourself a favor and experience world class European comfort food!!!!

Delicious pierogis! Have heard great things about this place and it did not disappoint. The pierogi flavor is really delicious, you can taste the sweetness of the onion on the sauce and it balances well with the meat filling. You can also grab pantry items imported from Poland such as pickled beets, sauerkraut and spices The store is located inside Broadway Market in Fells Point, Baltimore. There is seating indoors inside the market The owner Thomas is also super kind! You definitely have to stop by if you're in town.

Overall, I think Sophia's is a cute Polish spot. My bf is Polish so we have been here twice. The first time was very good when we tried a few items like bagels and pierogies and Polish soda! We were excited to come back but were disappointed when we took bagels to go and didn't realize they had put meat in the bagel sandwiches when we didn't ask for meat. It was a very expensive bagel to throw away ($11!) bc we couldn't eat it with the ham was melting into the cheese and egg. It was really disappointing service :(

    Stuffed Cabbage!

We stopped in while visiting Baltimore. We had stuffed cabbage and Pirogies and they were amazing. The sauce for the stuffed cabbage was super favorable and a great compliment. Pirogies were cooked perfectly ( we had the cabbage/mushroom). We anded up getting some frozen to go.

Lunch at Sophia's in Baltimore. Yummy. Cabbage roll, pierogi and sausage and sauerkraut. Highly recommend.

Chruścikis that melt in your mouth.

Run, don't walk, to Sophia's Place to enjoy the best Polish food in town. Pierogies, kielbasa, and chruścikis are all insanely delicious. One taste and I'm transported back to my childhood visiting my Polish grandparents in Locust Point in South Baltimore. So, so good. Get in the car now and head to Fells Point. Thank me later.

I accidentally stumbled into Heaven. We were on our way to find lunch and some ice cream at Takahara Brothers. We wandered into the Broadway Market and straight into the flavors of my childhood. You know how people with Italian heritage always say nothing measures up to their Nonna's or mother's gravy? I grew up with a Bushie. She kindly assaulted people with food. When I was younger, I couldn't imagine that this would ever stop. But, as she grew older, it did. Sometimes I think she did it out of spite. No one could make stuffed cabbage rolls like hers. They weren't traditional, much like everything she did and said. To this day, I don't really know what was authentically Polish, passed down from her family, and what she just made up to appeal to her American granddaughters. I'm pretty sure that the filling in her cabbage rolls was all meat. And she served them with potatoes boiled in some sort of thin red, vaguely tomato sauce. ALWAYS in her white Corningware dish, with the blue flowers. I'll never find a cabbage roll like hers, but I will kindly accept all contenders. Which lead me to attending the Polish festival at Holy Rosary - which is where my Bushie was married, btw. She and my grandfather supposedly lived on Chester street, and walked to the church with their wedding party, kind of like a parade. Time machine take me there. It must have been an amazing wedding. Someone spilled punch on her wedding dress at the reception, and she STILL mailed it off to some niece, back in Poland, for her to use. Anyway, it was at the Polish Festival that I discovered my love of pierogi stuffed with farmers cheese. There's a sweetness to the cheese that is so addictive. So I was delighted to find them for sale at Sophia's!! I haven't had the chance to eat them yet, but I am already planning to return to Sophia's when I have more money, because I need to SERIOUSLY shop. I was so thrilled by the selection of pierogi that I completely forgot to get a cabbage roll, or even to fully peruse the other shelves of Polish delights. Would recommend. Would also totally recommend the Polish Festival, which usually happens the second week in September.

Absolutely mouthwatering! If you're going to try anything in the broadway market make it Sophia's deli. We got the Sobieski's platter, which is a little bit of everything. Golabki, pierogis and fresh sausage with sauerkraut. There wasn't a single bite left. We even got piergois and soup to take home!

After wandering around Broadway Market, I was thrilled to happen upon Sophia's place. It's a fairly big stall, with racks of Polish dry goods and candies, along with freezers full of pierogi and items to take home. There is a deli and you can order read-to-eat Polish goodies. They also sell bakery items, like homemade cheesecake and paczki. I haven't seen kruschicki in years, and it's my favorite, so I picked up some of those and enjoyed them. I also got the potato and cheese pierogi, which were freshly pan-fried and delicious. I feel bad that I never liked my mother's golabki, but I'd try it here on a return visit. I chatted with Thomas, the owner, for a bit. He's friendly and has a prestigious culinary background. He really wants to carry forward the culture, which is amazing. I'll happily stop by anytime I'm in Fells.

Located in Broadway Market is this fantastic gem! We ordered the Sobieski's Feast and a cup of borchst and they did not disappoint. The Golabki was delicious! Tom (the owner) was very welcoming and hospitable. They have a fridge of soups you can bring back home. Highly recommend!

I just had the chicken curry noodle soup omg Definitely 10/10 if you are a soup lover

I'm a pescatarian so I haven't tried their BBQ meats (the friends I've brought have raved about their brisket) but they do have a vegan jackfruit sandwich that's solid and I love their Mac and cheese. I normally go to sit at the bar and enjoy their cocktails and whiskey selection which is one of the best near me. They have a great selection of some of those hard to acquire bourbons and quite a few exclusive barrel picks. The last time I was in, my buddy and I finally tried their Buffalo Trace and Rittenhouse picks on their own (as opposed to my standard Manhattan) and I ended up taking a bottle of their Rittenhouse home.

Service was friendly and welcoming upon walk-in, but that was the best part of our experience. The food sadly did not match the reputation. EVERYTHING came out lukewarm, the brisket was overcooked and dry, cornbread was burnt and hard, greens had no seasoning, and the baked beans were overwhelmingly vinegary. The bratwurst was underwhelming with no real snap, and even the B-side drink was way too sour. The mac & cheese and coffee BBQ sauce were the only good items of our entire meal. I really hope the kitchen staff was having an uncommon off-day, because this visit didn't reflect the recognition at all. Our meal was a compete letdown, so I hope they improve for future diners soon. PS - There is an upstairs and a downstairs, but if you sit upstairs, you have to order your food downstairs - they do bring the food up to you though.

I can confidently say that everyone that recommended this place was right. I had the Seoul skillet with pork belly, kimchi and mushrooms and wow, was it good! The flavors melted perfectly and it was the epitome of a well balanced breakfast. Service was fine - a bit slow, but they were incredibly busy, so I don't fault them at all for that. One thing I do hate is having to continuously ask for my water to be refilled, and I was left with an empty glass quite often but again, they were swamped so I do understand. Ambience is very interesting here, I don't know that I have ever been to a more eclectic restaurant. The decor is all over the place but it really does fit the vibe so I say this with zero negativity. It's quite tight in the space but that's totally fine. Overall I will 100% be coming back and would recommend anyone else do so.

But they do have a wide menu which includes cheesesteak so I decided to give them a try. Then came the 100% disappointing sad cheesesteak I was served. From the soggy bread, to the wrapper that stuck to my cheese and turned my cheesesteak into just the "steak" part. The flavor was that of a piece of bread soaked in water and tasteless. Overall did not come close to fulfilling my craving. Service was the same to follow. I approached the counter where I was greeted. The only customer service part of my experience. I told her my name and she said it would be a few more minutes. The woman then stated talking to her coworkers.. nonstop chatter. All the while the back cooks were bringing up food. And they were bagging it. After about 10 minutes of waiting. I interrupted the chatter and asked if my sandwich would be coming soon (at this point it had been 20 minutes since I ordered). She then asked me my name again and then grabbed a bag that had been sitting in the counter for some time and handed it to me. No apology.. nothing to show my bag had been sitting there for the last 8 minutes while I waited and she as the "greeter" forgot to check on it. So overall I would say the one star given is generous for the service, and food I received from this store.
