I finally got to try Pastore's, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu items! On this visit, I ordered the chicken salad sub, which was one of the daily specials. When I say the sub was massive, I mean it--it easily made two meals. The chicken salad was chunky, meaty, and fresh. I personally would have liked just a little more seasoning, but it was still very good. The restaurant was clean, and they have tables if you want to dine in. The staff was professional, friendly, and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Really fantastic old school Italian sandwich shop. One of my favorites I've tried anywhere, up there with the greats like Defonte's or Lioni in Brooklyn. I ordered a simple sandwich with fresh mozzarella, tomato olive oil and black pepper. With the name Pastore's you would think you can't go wrong. Cake slice's were slivers, not even pieces of cake, for the price, give the customer something good, so they come back. Not pictured are tables for dining in if you want to enjoy your food while it's hot. All I wanted was a well made turkey hoagie with good ingredients and some deli sides and that's exactly what I got. My turkey sandwich was delicious, made with all the fixings. I order an Amish potato salad and a macaroni salad as well. The potato salad was great but the macaroni salad lacked flavor. My son got a meatball sub and he said it was "on point" and my daughter had a prosciutto sub that she loved. Overall, the food and experience were great. Everyone inside was incredibly friendly and attentive. I live nowhere near this place but I will give myself a reason to come back at some point. You can stock up on panty items or frozen food as well, but get yourself a sandwich when you come. I don't think you will regret it. read more

I've been seeing this restaurant for years whenever I drive in the area, so I decided to give them a try for a work event. The overall consensus was Good, not excellent, and not fair. The pros, delivery driver was exceptional, he called twice to verify the location and was 15 minutes early which I loved! A few of my colleagues ordered the junior subs and 3, including myself ordered salads and chicken ceasar salad and the Italian salad. The cons, wish they had more vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options, especially seeing that a lot of ppl these dats having stricter dietary needs. The consensus is, they wish the sandwiches had more meat and the salads were a little bit bigger, but I understand it was lunch boxes lol. We got 50 sandwiches from here for a work luncheon. They have so many different kinds of sandwiches from, ham, turkey, shrimp salad, cypress, etc... All the sandwiches looked great, and were packaged neatly in party trays. I had a sandwich with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and prosciutto. It was so delicious and on a really fresh Italian bread. But man....they have LITTLE regard for people with food allergies, and it is for this reason I refuse to try anything other than the sandwiches. A few of their baked good have nuts in them but they're not labeled. The brownies in particular have walnuts but you don't know until you bite into them. This should be a huge concern for people with a nut allergy. Other than that, I can't really complain. Staff are friendly and keep you coming back for more. read more

They really cane through for me this weekend. I was having a party for my daughter. I needed a party platter in short notice. I like places such as Pastore's because its not cookie cutter chain style from the land of suburbia. This place claims to be an Italian grocer, deli, and bakery. When I stepped in, I was a bit disappointed there wasn't more shelves stocked with inventory. With that said, they have a nice sandwich counter that makes all kinds of sandwiches and salads with a catering division. The store is clean and modern. I don't know hat has happened to this place over the last 6 months .... I used to love it .... But I don't think I will be coming back. I live about an hour away but I go to several doctors who are in that neighborhood and I have been stopping by this deli for over 10 years. I was there this past Thursday and everything was a disappointment. The Italian subs had less meat and were covered in globs of powdered cheese. The cheesesteak sub was just so-so. The potato salad was mostly the 'sauce'. We actually had to ADD potatoes to it! The whole pickle was so soft and mushy that it went in the trash. The Napoleon dessert was partially frozen, with ice crystals in it . I put it in the frig to thaw and when I pulled it out a few hours later, it was thawed but was way too soft ... it did not have the appropriate texture - and for $5.99 it should be ( and used to be) better. The salad was goood but much smaller than it used to be. The rolls are still good too. read more

This place is an interesting little anomaly. Without a doubt, they make the best cold cuts in the area. Their food is always consistently delicious. Unfortunately, they unabashedly hate their customers. I've visited quite often and I can say that each time I felt like I was not welcome. No matter what I ask for, I was made to feel like It was the greatest burden of the day. No one is openly rude, it's just in the way they talk to you and the way they carry themselves. Add to that the fact that they are rarely open. They have very bizarre hours which seem to change all the time. I'm not really sure how they stay in business. There is not an italian cold cut around that can top the Pastore!
