This was real Corned beef ! Unlike the thinly shaved sandwich as usual this cut was fat and meaty. Service was good and fast . Easy pull up and park.

A Baltimore Corn Beef Row Staple! This review is very straight forth. Mad deliciously savory meat served on rye or your choice of available bread. Typically I'll have provolone, onions and mustard on mine (heated BTW!) Top your order off with some fresh Utz and Ginger Ale. I'll say this during the colder month, the lines are a little light. But as soon as it is warm, be prepared to stand in line! If you're looking for a sterile cafeteria experience, this is not your spot!

Great food as always. The staff is friendly and professional. Lunch time is always crowded some come early or after lunch rush.

I have had Weiss on my to-go list for MONTHS ever since I craved a Reuben one day at work and went scouring the internet for a good local deli. I live right around the corner, and once, somebody yelled at me from his truck as I walked by Weiss that "Weiss has the best corned beef in Baltimore, way better than Attman's." Unfortunately, Weiss is only open 9am-5pm Mon-Sat, which is tough with my schedule, so I have been tortured every time I pass by the closed sign on the way home. I had to wait until when my partner picked up a Reuben for me a few weeks ago. The Reuben used just regular sandwich bread but comes with enough meat for three sandwiches. I wish that they used a thicker cut of bread to balance the entire cow that they slap between the bread, but as the random stranger claimed, the corned beef really is the best in Baltimore. I want to go back to see what the inside is like myself, but my partner reports that it's "like a warehouse," and they had quick service. Next time, I might bring the sandwich home and split the meat into two sandwiches to self-adjust the proportions.

Man when I say I've rode past this place 100 times & never went to it always electing to go to Attman's. A buddy of mines was like you have to try their Rueben it's different. When I say it wasn't a disappointment at all. It's a small old school truck stop setup. The only issue is it's located on a busy downtown street literally like a half a block away from Attman's so the parking at times can be an adventure but it's worth the circling of the block. The service was amazing all of your sandwiches are prepared right in front of you by a very friendly staff with tons of gloves so it's no cross contamination to worry about. Plus it was a great old school feel to the place with the oldies playing in the background. Plus they aren't stingy with the meat. When I say my Rueben was loaded it's one of those sandwiches you're definitely going to have to use 2 hands for. But the truly best part of it all is the Rueben, bag of chips, & soda came in for an unbelievable price of $19 & some change. Something that's a blessing all it's self given the inflation times we are currently living in.

Very tasty corned beef sandwich. Visited on a Saturday afternoon in February 2024. Line was moving quickly. Sitting area was cleared out, perhaps for renovations, so I took my sandwich and small bag of chips to go. The sandwich was very large and filling, but a little costly at almost $15.

Service was friendly and welcoming upon walk-in, but that was the best part of our experience. The food sadly did not match the reputation. EVERYTHING came out lukewarm, the brisket was overcooked and dry, cornbread was burnt and hard, greens had no seasoning, and the baked beans were overwhelmingly vinegary. The bratwurst was underwhelming with no real snap, and even the B-side drink was way too sour. The mac & cheese and coffee BBQ sauce were the only good items of our entire meal. I really hope the kitchen staff was having an uncommon off-day, because this visit didn't reflect the recognition at all. Our meal was a compete letdown, so I hope they improve for future diners soon. PS - There is an upstairs and a downstairs, but if you sit upstairs, you have to order your food downstairs - they do bring the food up to you though.

Walked in and your in the bar area with about only 3 tables. Never being here before and not from the area we didn't know there was seating upstairs. You'd think since I had a kid with me we would have been told this. We split a two meat plate of ribs and brisket, with extra Mac & cheese. The meat comes with no sauce and they have sauce at the tables for you to add which is the best way to go. The ribs were fall off the bone and very good. The brisket on the other hand was a little on the dryer side and I needed a lot of the sauce to eat it. Speaking of the sauce the smoke sauce was delicious. The Mac & cheese is way over peppered, very cheesy and tasted good but too much pepper. The meal also came with pickles which were ok and the driest cornbread I've ever eaten. Definitely needed butter to spread on it. All and all it was just ok for us. We traveled from PA to try this place and it's just not for us.

Closest thing to a New Orleans po'boy in Baltimore…read more The Catfish Po'Boy here is no joke. Kimchi-brined fried catfish, remoulade, capers, lettuce, tomato and red onion on a sub roll -- it immediately reminded me of Mandina's on Canal Street in NOLA. That's about as high a compliment as I can give a po'boy outside of Louisiana. My partner had the Heirloom BLT and loved every bite. Fresh heirloom tomatoes, arugula, sprouts, herbed avocado mayo on wheat -- simple and done right. Chuck's has that perfect Hampden energy: unpretentious, a little quirky, genuinely good food. The counter seating where you watch everything made to order is a nice touch. Grab something from the bodega side on your way out. Show up Tuesday for the po'boy lunch special. You won't regret it.

I can confidently say that everyone that recommended this place was right. I had the Seoul skillet with pork belly, kimchi and mushrooms and wow, was it good! The flavors melted perfectly and it was the epitome of a well balanced breakfast. Service was fine - a bit slow, but they were incredibly busy, so I don't fault them at all for that. One thing I do hate is having to continuously ask for my water to be refilled, and I was left with an empty glass quite often but again, they were swamped so I do understand. Ambience is very interesting here, I don't know that I have ever been to a more eclectic restaurant. The decor is all over the place but it really does fit the vibe so I say this with zero negativity. It's quite tight in the space but that's totally fine. Overall I will 100% be coming back and would recommend anyone else do so.

But they do have a wide menu which includes cheesesteak so I decided to give them a try. Then came the 100% disappointing sad cheesesteak I was served. From the soggy bread, to the wrapper that stuck to my cheese and turned my cheesesteak into just the "steak" part. The flavor was that of a piece of bread soaked in water and tasteless. Overall did not come close to fulfilling my craving. Service was the same to follow. I approached the counter where I was greeted. The only customer service part of my experience. I told her my name and she said it would be a few more minutes. The woman then stated talking to her coworkers.. nonstop chatter. All the while the back cooks were bringing up food. And they were bagging it. After about 10 minutes of waiting. I interrupted the chatter and asked if my sandwich would be coming soon (at this point it had been 20 minutes since I ordered). She then asked me my name again and then grabbed a bag that had been sitting in the counter for some time and handed it to me. No apology.. nothing to show my bag had been sitting there for the last 8 minutes while I waited and she as the "greeter" forgot to check on it.
