I like shopping at Amazon Fresh even though I don't frequent it. They do have good deals but some items are quite expensive too. Most of the time the ice cream is cheaper than that of Whole Foods, etc for the same product. I find random deals. Last time I was there, some hummus was only a dollar and change. It is the same size as other grocery stores that charge $2-4. The small portion salmon really comes out well when you cook it. But you do have to be careful if you do self checkout. One time, I scanned the 30% off sticker. Not only did it charge me for 30% off the sticker but it also charged me for the full price. If I was not one to look at my receipt, I would've been been charged 170%. It is sad that this location is closing next week. The last time I went, I heard the last day is 03/13. No word on what's next but one possible scenario is Whole Foods moving in. We shall see... If you want to check it out, you only have a few more days. read more

Tucked far away in Pasadena on Colorado boulevard, this store is a downgraded Whole food market ( A little bit like Vons and Pavillons) The good part: There is never a crowd or wait at the registers. The prices are one level under its more famous sibling, with some major differences for the same items ( eggs, Chobani, De Cecco pasta as an exemple). The staff is very friendly and the whole experience is a good one. The bad: The organic produce and fruit are not tasty and don't seem to last as long ? In this day and age of affordability, it is a good store but I will not purchase everything there, and reserve my fruit and vegetables to my usual Whole food, Bristol Farms and Pavillons. read more

So the news has gotten out. Come March 13 and all Amazon Fresh stores in California will be closed. We decided to shop here for the first and last time just to see how everything is. Prices were decent. I loved how we were able to get an additional 5% back by using the Amazon Prime Card. They had a huge selection of different foods to choose from that fit our healthy habits and dietary restrictions. The employees were also very helpful and attentive when we needed help. read more

This Amazon fresh location is great. Friendly and helpful staff and great selections! I also like they have their return center here. Sometimes when I return my packages, they have QR codes for certain deals ($2 off $10 purchase). They have a wide selection of items and most of the time they're pretty affordable. As a new mom, I love that they have family spots in the front by the entrance so it's easier to get in the store carrying your babies. They do have plenty of parking spots! Around the holidays, they have Santa come in and have deals and games around the store. However, I don't think that's fair, and I'm updating my rating to five stars based on my actual experiences in the store. I'm so sad that all Amazon Fresh stores will be closing next month. I had never been to the Pasadena location and wanted to pop in since I was in the area. It's a good size store with lots of parking out front and spacious inside. I like that the aisles are not all narrow and crazy busy. Was hoping to find some nice flowers since it was V Day and I wanted to surprise my mom, but didn't see much option and got those elsewhere. I did decide to shop around though since my husband and I were here. Everything was clean and labeled properly. Not sure if the hot food area is just stopping, those were all empty. They were making Mongolian bowls which I hadn't seen before. We grabbed a couple snacks and checked out with our cart. The experience was a breeze and another reason I'm going to miss Amazon Fresh. Always good deals and love being able to scan everything into my cart and check everything. It's like having self check machine in your cart and I wish more places would do this. read more

I've been to this Amazon Fresh location a few times now and it's my favorite one! They have a huge parking lot and are almost never busy, which is a big plus for me. It's a big location, very clean, good deals, friendly staff - what more could a girl want!? Plus, because of the Amazon tie in, you can return items here, too which is a big plus. Sometimes when you return things, they give a coupon for your order like $2 off. It applies I love the carts! You just scan as you go, and can remove things as you see, as well. It took me a minute to get the hang of it but after my first trip, it was smooth sailing. They have staff right at the front door in case you need any help though. The only issue I have had is twice my cart didn't check out properly. I have now learned that you need to actually stop for a minute for the checkout to process. They made it seem like you walk right through at checkout, but this last trip they explained there is a camera above catching things. After some weirdness when they first opened with cameras everywhere, this Amazon Fresh (which is very convenient in location) was a great place to get good prices on staples. They had excellent yogurt at an unbeatable price, good prices on milk, some nice bakery goods, and decent produce, if not a great breadth of selection. Alas, while the people who work there are still friendly, pro-active, and effective, the stocking has gotten worse and worse. Items I liked - say, non-organic whole beets - vanished. The overall quality of the produce is mediocre, and sometimes outright bad. And those nicely priced staples? Well, today they had NO milk (except expensive organic or lactose free), and I barely snagged the single last container of Amazon plain yogurt, though I wanted 3 or so. The sidewalk outside of this store is filthy. Spilled liquids that have dried. Food spills. It is not at all appetizing for a food shopping experience. This store is marginal at best. Items constantly out of stock. Employees are pleasant but do not seem familiar with the store and policies. I come to this store only when I have an Amazon return. Wow! I didn't know there was an Amazon Fresh Grocery Store in E. Pasadena! It took over the old OSH Hardware store on Colorado Blvd. Lots of parking, a handful of EV charging spaces, and Family Parking space for families with small children. There were some carts with electronic pad where the baby seat is. I guess it's to help you find items on your grocery list, there are QR codes on the ceilings so maybe it makes it easier to find items/restock? Krispy Kreme has a mini store inside & has a good selection. I went close to closing but they had 2 dedicated employees working behind the counter. I like how they have a wooden fruit stand in front of the produce section for kids to grab a free fruit to munch on while their parents shop. How clever! Amazon Fresh has really good prices on most items. Some are exactly the same as other grocery stores. But their 2 lb. container of fresh cut pineapple was only $7.99 compared to Vons that sells 1 lb container for about $9.99. They mark down produce, meat, fish, etc. that are a day or 2 before the best by date so if you're planning to cook that item that day, it's a bargain! They have a small floral section, nothing fancy. They have a Small Bouquet of flowers for $4.99 and the Large Bouquet for $9.99. With prices like these, I don't have to feel guilty for buying flowers to decorate my dining table for a nice dinner for friends. They had a Hot Food Bar, Cold Food Bar, Pizza Bar where you can serve yourself a slice or two from the 4 or 5 cooked pizzas on the counter. I bought the 16" Take &Bake Pepperoni Pizza $9.99 (thin crust). It was good but I over-baked it, so the crust was really like cardboard. My bad! The Amazon Fresh brand Chicken Noodle Soup was chock full of veggies & chicken! I usually get the Signature Brand from Vons that only has a little bits of chicken. This one was better tasting & more nutritious. I found some great snacks/lunch items like Amazon Fresh brand chocolate hummus w/pretzels to pack for lunch. They also had some good cookies! This location isn't that close to me but I'm going to make it a monthly destination to go get groceries, when I don't need to go to the big warehouse store!! They remodeled the PRISON, no more tables and chairs for the Hot foods. No more scan to check into the store. Before: the cameras were on sticks and protruded from the ceiling. They fixed that. I reported a serious issue to this Amazon Fresh months ago and provided full documentation to the store manager. After the person I reported retaliated against me, the store was aware that I became a victim because of my good-faith report yet no one ever followed up with me. When I later asked a loss-prevention employee about the status, she was extremely rude and even complained about me on the phone right in front of me. The on-duty manager simply repeated "I'll tell the store manager" without offering any actual information, and refused to provide any corporate contacts. I also sent a written request for an update and never received a reply. It's extremely disappointing that after everything that happened, the store showed zero transparency, zero accountability, and zero support for someone who reported wrongdoing in good faith. I genuinely hope management improves how they handle customer reports and supports people who come forward. read more

I felt like I need to update review. Still very clean. Amazon drop off is so convenient, never have to wait long. By that area theres QR codes for discounts. I never noticed their hot foods before. Fast food or even mid restaurant is just too expensive. Huge slices of pizza, i would say mid thick crust, which is great when youre hungry . I wanna say 2$ ish slice. Theres a hot food bar,soup and a salad bar as well. That is priced on weight. They shut it down 6:30pm so if you get anything after 6:30 its cheaper, we grabbed some dolmas (very good) Grab and go salads and sandwiches etc. I also saw they had a hot tofu bowl and another with meat. Pursuing the aisles could be hypnotic if you have the time and desire to just take a break. The aisles are well stocked with a large variety of merch. I zone in on the meat department. Looking for the markdowns I've scored on meat for myself and the dog! When you make your own dog food, getting good quality at a bargain is essential. One bummer is you have to be aware, like other markets, if you aren't in the Club, you don't get the lowest price on display. But it's worth a lap to get your steps in and there are good deals here. I called this store location to see what time their returns department closes since some stores close their returns dept earlier. I called the number on their profile and it was a 1-800 number. Those workers working the phones have no idea what time the department closes and told me they close at 5pm which i knew was incorrect. I called twice asking the same question and they asked me info about my account, what I'm returning and needed to know my name on the account. Seriously unnecessary; they need to be retrained. What a horrible experience! There was only one register open so there was a long line. My partner and I were next in line but the family in front of us was having issues with their payment method. The line continued to get longer so another cashier opened up another register and took the last person in line instead of the next person - my partner and me. We let that go thinking we were going to be next but the family in front of us still had issues with payment. Line got longer so another cashier came by to open another register and instead of helping the next in line - us, they got people after us. We were frustrated at that point. Common courtesy and proper customer service would have been to offer help to the next person in line. And instead of the associates trying to help us and understand our frustration, they rolled their eyes, gave us attitude, and a security guard said "don't come back" (under her breath). Yes, we were upset and we reacted! How would you feel in our position? Guess common courtesy is not so common and satisfactory customer service is nonexistent. We would like to speak to the manager of that location; however, judging by the reviews here, seems like this location lacks quality customer service, courtesy, and accountability. read more

I've been shopping here for a couple of years. using Amazon Prime dash check out is very convenient. My issue is with the staff/lack of service. For instance, I got a large hot Turkey Chili soup today. The cart won't accept names such as soup, hot soup, turkey chili soup, nor accept the PLU code...I stopped an employee who's playing with his phone, he tried a couple of times and did not work either. Did he offer more help, no. I ended telling him to put the soup back. Until Amazon Fresh fix the reader of the cart, or hire more qualified employees, this may be the last time I shop here. read more

I glanced over and the pizza had literally just been taken out of the oven and nobody had breathed on it yet. I knew I had to buy a slice. It was a delicious slice for only $2 that was a bit greasy, but it had a unique crisp when biting into it, similar to eating chips! I've never had pizza like it before. The chili in the hot bar section is also pretty decent. The contactless payment system isn't fully up and running yet so we were still helped by a cashier at check-out. We were able to use our amazon prime account in our phone to pay for our groceries, without having to pull any credit cards out. I really didn't know what to expect from this store; I thought it was going to be like a Whole Foods but it really is like a regular grocery store that sells your regular day-to-day items, which is nice. Beautifully organized and well stocked store. Went here for the Pre-Thanksgiving Turkey special, $0.49/lb. Largest ones were not more than 15 lbs which came to $7 a Turkey. I got 3. Can't be beat. Not sure how much longer was their promo. For Prime subscribers, make sure to download your Amazon app and get the extra 10% off. I haven't used one of their high tech carts. I think it would link your Amazon grocery list and will act as a guide to find items in the store as well as automatic check out if your debit/credit card was also linked to your account. I'm not there yet on that part of the Amazon shoppers experience. It is a cool feature to scan when you get in and then just leave the store with your cart, but the time I went that was down so I had to be checked out by a cashier. They now have this option where you can check out using biometrics by scanning your palm. That is a bit much for me. I would only shop here if there was something I wanted that was on sale. They don't carry everything normal grocery stores would but they do have most of what you need. My go-to here is getting their Poke bowl at less than $11 it's cheaper than some Poke restaurants. Their hot bar is currently at $8.99 which can get pricey, but if you don't want to cook it's a great option. Lots of variety of food to choose from. Sometimes if you are returning an Amazon purchase and decide to return to an Amazon Fresh store they will give you a coupon for doing so. I was able to get $10 of the $40 purchase for returning something there. Also, check your Amazon or the app because sometimes they have coupons for shopping a certain week or month. I think this style of shopping could be great for introverts who don't like to interact with people or just people who want to shop by getting in and out faster. I do not enjoy going to grocery stores. I go early to avoid crowds and I'm in and out as quickly as possible. But, I admit, when I heard there was an Amazon Fresh in Pasadena, I was curious. The store is huge! The aisles are spacious, so you don't have to worry about bumping into anyone. When you enter you have the option of scanning your QR code from the Amazon app, which you will also need to pay & exit, or the old-fashioned way and pay at the cashier. (There is an attendant on site to assist.) I was impressed with how clean and well organized everything was. They carry an extensive selection of items than your typical store. I never knew there were so many varieties of popcorn! They also carry brands that you won't find at Ralphs or Vons. I was surprised to see Café Du Monde Beignet Mix & Red Lobster's Biscuit Mix on the shelves. However, the alcohol selection was disappointing - not a wide variety to choose from. It's sectioned off and you must show your ID before entering, which is understandable especially if you check out via the app. If you're hungry there is a hot bar, salad bar, & fresh sushi available in addition to a seating area to enjoy your meals. And, of course, there is an Amazon return counter. The prices here are a bit higher than your average grocery store but once you become a regular shopper you receive coupons for future purchases. I had been driving past this Amazon Fresh location for months, and finally decided to pop in and check the place out. Since it was my first time at an Amazon fresh store, I decided to just shop the traditional was instead of doing the self checkout shopping cart. The store is a good size with a nice layout. All the produce looked fresh. They had a wide selection of produce to select from. They had all the normal name brand items you can think of plus their own Amazon brand items that were a significantly lower price. They had a lot of items on sale and a decent sized clearance section. I ended up getting some food from the hot bar as well. To my surprise, they had indian food at the hot bar so I decided to grab some semosa's and chicken tikka - I was impressed by the flavor. This review is two parts: Grocery Shopping and Hot Food =Grocery Shopping= Like many others, I've been coming multiple times because they keep mailing $20 off $40 coupons in the weekly mail. Honestly, the base pricing of items here is for the most part not that great. A lot of items are MSRP, and things that are on sale are marked with a sale tag... but not always with the sale price. You have to use the weekly ad or your Amazon app to figure out what the pricing is. I think their Lactose Free "Happy Belly" milk is a bit cheaper than name brand Lactaid at other stores but that's about all that comes to mind. Here's a double edged sword: Amazon Fresh is extremely neat and organized with the items on their shelves. It's very nice because the shelves never get messy and you can always tell if something is definitively sold out. Strangely however, I find it hard to find things in the store. The neat shelf dividers somehow make everything sort of blend together and look the same in my opinion. It's not a huge negative but I found it kind of annoying. I've also found that some of the particularly good deals get cleaned out real fast. Not sure if Amazon Fresh doesn't stock enough or if there's really just that many customers swinging by for the good stuff. They might also have supply chain issues because one day they were just completely out of their brand of lactose free milk. You can also just bag items yourself with the paper bags they have stocked in the aisles. It's nice actually. I've forgotten how fun it is to tetris things in a paper bag. Everywhere else just gives you plastic bags now... So why do I keep coming back? The $20 off $40 coupons. I use this opportunity to buy products that typically don't go on sale elsewhere. I just get my cart to around 40 buckos for maximum savings. I combo my subtotal with a little bit of hot food so I can have lunch in the sitting area before I leave. =Hot Food= The pizza is awful. I've had it twice, once as a whole pizza order, and one by the slice. The toppings are fine, and in fact quite good- but the crust... THE CRUST... it's so bad. The center of the pizza doesn't seem to cook through very well, and it leaves the texture doughy and uncooked. The outer rim of the crust is a bit crispier and more in line with what you would expect with a thin crust. The hot food bar is a bit more decent. Chicken Tikka Masala and Buffalo Wings were successful hits in my opinion. Trust your eyes when you look at the food. The broccoli and cauliflower dishes looked somewhat overcooked, and they absolutely were kinda mushy and not very pleasing. If it doesn't look perfect, it's probably not great. The Hot Sandwiches were pretty decent, but I should mention that the bread is buttered pretty heavily. It gets greasy to eat and isn't exactly a light meal. However, the brisket sandwich was pretty decent and the Cubano was okay. =Checkout Process= So a note about the self-checkin and self-checkout process. It's very simple and painless. You scan your code on the Amazon app to get in, and then on your way out, you scan any coupon QR codes followed by your app again to get out. In my three visits so far, twice it has been extremely accurate with my order, even with me leaving my cart to put stuff back. This last visit however, I was charged a couple bucks for something I didn't buy. I went through Amazon's online customer service chat and they credited me with an amount I was satisfied with. Took a few minutes but they didn't put up a fuss or anything about it. Long Story Short- I'll keep coming as long as they keep giving me coupons. Without coupons... this place doesn't really have any real value to offer besides walk-in walk-out convenience. read more

I went to the Re-grand opening on a Sunday afternoon in November. It was quite busy that I had to park on the street. It was really nice with several booths outside of free coffee and giveaways. Inside they made changes with separate wall to separate the market from the entrance. Next to the entrance is Krispy Kreme desk. They also have self checkout lanes. Promotion/Deals: There are daily 20% off prepared foods for prime members. -Mon: Salad bar -Tue: Cold prepared sandwiches -Wed: Hot soup bar -Thurs: Chef's case deli salads -Fri- California rolls -Sat: Whole cheese pizza Sun: Select deli meats and cheeses. For non-prime members/prime members, you can check out the amazon fresh tab. There is a four cheese take and bake frozen pizza deal for free. You have to clip the coupon. This deal ends on 10/11/2022. You can also take a look at the in-store savings section on the app also. Location/Parking: Located in the old Orchard Supply Hardware store. Decent amount of parking can be found in their lot. If you feel comfortable parking on Colorado Blvd., you can do that also. Ambiance/Decor: Neat decor. Kinda feels a bit like costco warehouse feel. It's a bit of an eyesore looking up at all those sensors. Then again that is how they achieve the concept of "Just walk out shopping". Order Of Operations (pick one) 1) Choose the app method (Go to the amazon app, tap on tap on in-store code, and scan the qr code that shows up on the app) to check in and once you leave, you do the same thing to check out. The items that you check out (look out for every aisle. You'll see small little black sensors that picks up the barcodes of every item you pick up.) with will be charged to your credit card that is linked to your amazon app. You'll receive an email couple hours later with your receipt. or 2) Do the tradition shopping (Cashier check out, pickups, and returns). This is self explanatory Service: Service is alright. There are staffers walking around to help you out if you need it. The only issue I have is with the deli and fresh kitchen area. There's no line indicator to distinguish where the beginning of the line starts at for the stations. Prepared Food Of Choice: I tried their pepperoni pizza that was priced at $1.99 a slice. Thought the pizza was good for the price. If there's grease on the pizza, just dab it with napkins to get rid of it and proceed to consume. Okay second visit using the $10 off $20 QR coupon that they sent to me. Hopefully it works this time as there is nobody near the self check out to help. Signage says scan coupon first but after that it doesn't say confirmed etc. I noticed today too that the prices do seem higher than most other markets and they don't have a lot of things that I was looking for. Make sure to grab a basket in parking lot as they don't bring them in and what I don't like is when you self checkout you don't get your receipt until 15-20 mins later so you don't know if they charged you correctly or applied their coupons. At 8:30pm there wasn't much in their bakery, prepped food area etc. their produce was so so quality. read more

Kinda daunting knowing there are literally hundreds of cameras above monitoring your every move. There is fresh hot food you can choose to eat and buy in the back right side.
