Saturday mid afternoon I did some shopping. This is the second time this week that they have been out of plastic bags for the produce. The Romaine appeared it should have been removed from the shelf because of date code. Persian cucumbers were out of stock. I inquired with an employee and the reason was they had not received bags or produce on their inventory. The store was in utter chaos. I have been going here since it's opening but thinking seriously if I Will ever go back. Since the Eaton Fire destroyed the Altadena Aldi, I've had to visit other Aldi locations nearby. The Arcadia Aldi is one of them. Parking is easy here thanks to the large parking lot. The shelves are usually well stocked, although the salad and greens section can be a bit messy at times. I enjoy shopping at Aldi for their German products, especially the desserts. However, I've noticed that this location rarely discounts their meats compared to other Aldi stores. The cashiers are fast at checkout and helpful if you need assistance. Overall, with easy parking and well-stocked shelves, this location makes for a convenient but unremarkable shopping experience. read more

I came to this location on a whim. I don't live super close to the area, and even if I did, I usually don't shop at Aldi, but compared to the Burbank location I went to a couple of weeks ago, this location is better in terms of organization and keeping everything tidy. They also had some amazing crepes (as a snack that you can purchase, wrapped in little plastic bags) that I did not see at their other location, that I ended up trying and found them to be 10/10. Been a minute since I've been to an Aldi and they have pretty solid produce for a very reasonable price. Majority of the items I got were much cheaper than that of another grocery store. Whole pineapples were only dollar! Only downside was carts required a 25 cent deposit that you'd get back by returning the cart. My new favorite grocery store: great deals on k-cup coffees (their own brand but good such as the midnight dark blend), dark chocolate, eggs, milk, cheese. Every of pack of veggies or your everyday item is like $2, A pack of 3 bell peppers? $2. A pack of 3 zucchini? $2. A pack of sliced cheese (1/2 lb)? $2. A carton (half gallon) of almond milk? About $2. It's a sister store of Trader Joe's so most of their stuff is naturally occurring non-gmo or organic. A carton of organic whole milk? $3.49. Compared to my local 99 ranch that is either out of stock or $6.99? Yes please. Wasn't used to the environment at first, as compared to your local Vons/Ralph's, in which people walk you over to a certain product that you're looking for, but for what employees they don't hire to walk around, that savings passes over directly to me. Even the shopping carts go by a quarter system. Want your quarter back? Walk the cart back to the station to the little plastic stick that pushes your quarter back to you. That way they don't have to hire a designated person to pick up the carts every so often. Once I was loading my car up with groceries, there was a bald gentleman asking me if he could have my cart, I thought maybe he didn't know how to use the quarter system. I said I'm going to get my quarter back. When I got it back, I was holding it up in explanation (like this is how you grab a cart) he clapped both his hands together as if thanking me for the quarter. But I didn't give it to him. I said, no that's not what I meant. But later as I was pulling out I saw that he was lingering around to see if he could help others put their cart back for them, so he could get the quarter. Not a bad ALDI location, plenty of parking in this plaza. The set up reminds me of the La Puente location. Store was clean and things were decently stocked. I was able to find some nice seasonal items that I wasn't able to find at the other locations like the Headless Horseman coffee, spooky Halloween cheeses, and some pumpkin whipped cream and egg nog. They also had some of the Oktoberfest German items from a couple weeks ago. Most ALDI I've gone to clear their ALDI finds stuff after the week is over, so this was a pleasant surprise. read more

On a Wednesday morning in late July, their chicken breast was on sale $1.29 so I took a look. Soon as I walked inside, they changed their layout again of the produce at the door and glass doors on the cheese and hummus area, They also moved other aisles around so it took me longer to find the stuff. Great prices and short lines! While I was unemployed from my main job, I would often shop here when I was working for an app-based company. I had never been to this store until last year, but since then I've been coming here to shop quite often. I like this place because they only offer a couple options of each item, so the store is easy to navigate. They have brands that are specifically sold by Aldi, but they also have some name brand items to choose from. Their produce is always fresh and the prices are unbeatable. I was so impressed by the service today it was remarkable ...I saw a guy going to town on stocking produce and he knew that store like the back of his hand. I believe his name was Christopher but that gentleman knew the layout and ins and outs of the store like you wouldn't believe ! He's got just the right amount of people skills is focused and got the job done ! Wow. Why aren't there any Aldis up in NorCal?? When I first heard about Aldis through a friend, I had to go check this place out for myself because I was in dire need of a new grocery place once I moved to SoCal. Once I came for the first time, I caught myself coming back every weekend/every other weekend. This is THE place! Meat was so cheap especially chicken breast and chicken thighs, eggs were cheap by the dozen (went as low as 49 cents...pre covid though), produce was decently price, and fruits had some good deals as well. They even have avocados on sale as low as 25 cents sometimes! Aldis has an "Aldis Finds" section where it's good deals for certain foods or items. First off, I love Aldi! I was so glad when this location opened up. I was one of the first shoppers at this location. I think Aldi is one of if not the best grocer in the United States. A lot of people fail to realize the Albrecht's who own Aldi bought Trader Joe's back in 1979 before it was anything and made it what it is today. They are very similar in all regards and I love shopping at them both as they both have a ton of organic and vegan options plus when I am eating vegetarian some of the best cheeses money can buy. I have been going to this Aldi since 2020 because its close to where I live and they have a decent selection of produce and fish that are reasonable, but when it comes to customer service they are AWFUL. Apparently reading the reviews of other Aldi stores there seems to be common, they hire some of the most rudest laziest people. I shop at Ralphs and Trader Joe's as well, but I have never had the same problems with rude staff that I have had at this Aldi store, where I had filed multiple complaints about several of their staff. First, the location of this Aldi on Baldwin, there is always some problem in the parking lot; I have witnessed so many accidents there and sorry to say all of them were Asian drivers, who just don't pay attention to their surroundings. I park my car at the end of the parking, but even walking to the store from my car in the parking lot has been problems where people leaving back-up without looking. When you walk into the store, its always busy, especially in the afternoon and you have people going through the produce section opening closed boxes of fruits to remove and touching everything and these are again the Asians who do that that is just disgusting. Even when the staff tell them not to do that, it happens weekly there. When it comes to their cashiers, even when its busy they either have one or two, that just throw your stuff in the shopping cart, instead of just handing to you as you are bagging. Some of them are so RUDE, there is one Asian female "Tiffany", I asked her once to change a $10 bill and she went off on me with an outburst "We don't give change here". She also ran up items that over $10 of items on my receipt that I didn't even buy?. I had to drive all the way back to the store the same night and prove to another cashier I didn't buy the items to get refund. Then the same cashier (Tiffany) walked up and when I showed her the receipt she said: "What do you want me to do about it"?. The vulgarity of this staff is just shocking that she thinks that she can speak to customers that way. This all stems from poor management from their corporate and district managers who don't really care what happens at these stores. This store has high rotation of staff that they keep leaving. I have decided to just limit my shopping at this store, I hope more people file a complaint to Aldi on their web site about the poor customer service at their stores. If anyone at Ralphs stores spoke to customers they way Aldi staff do, they would be terminated. The reason they get away with it its because they know their management doesn't care. read more

To me, it's a grocery store with just about everything - produce, paper goods, refrigerated items, snacks, cereal, live plants (like orchids),etc. They even had Easter candies in the seasonal section! Convenient grocery shopping store. Enjoy the good quality food and prices for the items I frequently purchase! Also Aldi carries some organic items. Always enjoyed the interesting items that showed up seasonally or whenever. They don't have everything you may need, but it provides a great opportunity to get creative and make what you can with the items you see there. Household items like dish soap, sponges, etc. are decent. Kitchen essentials like containers, cooking tools., etc. are generally nicely priced too! Lots to browse and try for yourself. Can't remember a time when I was disappointed by trying something new from there. Gotta take note of down times to shop during these times as it could get a bit packed at times. The lines usually move fairly all right compared to most other grocery stores as you gotta pack your bags yourselves. Always appreciate how the personnel maintains the aisles, shelves, checkout lanes, etc. clean and safe. Love! This Aldi location is literally sitting next door to so many competitors (Vons, 99 ranch, etc) but it does so well because it's just such a reliable and clean grocery store. This Aldi location does a great job with keeping the store clean and keeping supply in stock. When there are items on sale they really keep their inventory high enough to keep up with demand (aka there are crates of avocados all the time). They also have used empty boxes in the aisles that people can use in place of grocery bags which is really nice and environmentally friendly! The checkout lines are generally pretty quick and they will open more when things pick up. Cashiers are generally pretty friendly. Parking lot is huge and I've never had a problem finding parking. read more

One of my favorite markets.... hands down! The prices for groceries are incredibly reasonable here and you can always find a hidden gem here as well! I typically go to Aldi to pickup food and wine essentials. I love the price and quality of the prosciutto, Brie, goat cheese, smoked salmon, spinach (GF) wraps, naan bread... mainly brunch items! I also love that their condiments are reasonably priced as opposed to other markets who have the nerve to sell pepper for $3.99+. Their condiments and salad dressings or marinades are reasonably priced and quite a steal, really! Their raw meats/ poultry items also look very fresh and I love their packaging. Everything is individually packaged and looks sleek and clean. To top this off.... they have an aisle where they have seasonal items such as rugs, wall furniture, organization things... and I always find something I want at a great price there! I purchased a wall decor item that I use to hang pictures on my wall the last time I was there and also spied a beautiful outdoor rug cheaply priced at $14.99. I didn't purchase the rug only because it probably wouldn't fit in my car... but definitely looking forward to returning to Aldi again to check our what's in store! If I were to introduce Aldi to someone who has never been here before, I'd say this place is like a upscale walmart, but without the target price tag. Honestly, Aldi has gotten my family through the Covid crisis. They literally have everything from kitchen essentials to miscellaneous baking items. Not to mention, all and EVERYTHING is super cheap, but great quality! A few essential covid items that our family kept coming back to purchase: tomatoes, avocado, pineapple, spring mix, bread, kraft cheese, cucumbers. Honestly you can't really beat the price here, and quality is GREAT. Things I don't need to spend more for brand name items: cream cheese (less than a dollar for 8oz), spices (tumeric, parsley, steak seasoning, etc.), flour, vanilla extract (I've seen the same size at another grocery store nearby for literally quadruple the price!), balsamic vinegar, etc. Randomest good finds: I buy granola here. They have these random granola chunks with either dried fruits or chocolate, and they are amazing! I also buy cheap wine here ($2) which I can use for cooking! read more

Aldi is great on price and they have a good selection of common and niche items that are hard to find elsewhere. For example, they carry a few different variety of calzones from Buffalo chicken, Philly cheesesteak and peperoni. They also have frozen large pizzas and Flatbread which are great tasting and at a great value. Their vegetable selection is not bad although limited to the more popular items. In contrast, the customer experience at checkout was horrible. This will be my fifth time at this store and each time at checkout I get a rude cashier with no fail. This time I got bark at for asking for a plastic bag. The cashier raised her voice and gave me an order to where I can find some. I did not come in here and expect to be treated like a boot camp recruit in the military. The cashiers are not friendly and will go out of their way to help to make you hate shopping there. I love Aldi for providing value to the community by offering lower prices but would think they would do a better job of hiring people who actually want to be there. I went to Aldi to get some groceries. When I was paying, I provided a box for the cashier so that it would be easier to hold my groceries. I asked the small male cashier with glasses and a ponytail up his head multiple times to put groceries in the box but he threw them carelessly in the cart instead. Like some other reviewers complained, the costumer service is terrible. The management should train their staff better in order to provide better costumer service. This Aldi has great customer service! They're a little distant at first, but when my partner went to ask for something, the man who helped us went above and beyond and rummaged through the back to help us find our grocery list items! The only downside is that we've had instances where we've gotten foods with freezer burn--example, on more than one instance we've bought rice puddings that were bad. They had been frozen over, defrosted/melted, then refrozen due to storage conditions, leaving us with grainy, strange rice puddings. read more

Aldi, a new market in Arcadia that recently opened (04.2016) and took up half of the space that was occupied by a CVS drug store. This has quickly become one of my go-to places to do regular shopping. It's a bit like Trader Joe's, where they carry a lot of their own private labels that cannot be found anywhere else. It's also a bit like the defunct Fresh & Easy, where you would pack your own groceries in your own canvas bags, or buy theirs for 10 cents. Aldi is originally from Germany, and is somewhat related to Trader Joe's, as in they're both under the same parent company, but was divided into two in the 60s: Aldi Nord (North) that runs Trader Joes, or Aldi Sud (South) that runs Aldi. The private labels ( Clancy's, Millville & others ) are comparable to the higher priced brand names. everything from their version of Tropicana OJ, to Cheerios, Doritos ... the list goes on & on, are at a much lower price, often more than 50% less. But having tried several items, they either taste the same or even better. Besides packaged foods, they also carry 90% lean beef at a good price, many types of cheeses and a failry large section for inexpensive wine. Besides carrying groceries and produce, the store also sells a few random items like cheap luggage, car accessories, sleeping bags, yard furniture and other misc. items. Yea, I'd skip these. If you look at Aldi's for what it is, a place to get attractive prices on things you would normally pay more for, just because it was advertised on TV, then this market is a good choice for you. Tips: * Bring a quarter to release the shopping cart, then get it back when you return the cart. Makes sense because I did not see one single cart in the parking lot, and they can save on labor for someone to gather it all up. (see Walmart's parking lot, it's a dumping ground) * Once you pay, there's a large counter area to bag your own purchases, so that you don't hold up the line. * Be green & bring your own bags, or buy their reusable one for 10 cents * Many items are cheaper than Ralph's, Von's or Albertson's sale price, and they're pratically the same stuff. read more

This Aldi was one of the first stores in southern California and I've shopped here weekly since they opened. This review is for the Arcadia, Ca. location.You can't beat the quality and ease of shopping. The one area they can really improve is their customer service. It took me one visit to another store to see they are very big difference. The other stores (Pasadena, Duarte) were friendly while shopping and most importantly at checkout they paid friendly attention to you and your needs. In the Arcadia location they are not friendly, helpful, or really care if you're there or not. It's been this way from the start and I don't see it changing. read more
