First time at ámate, man i have to say i've never been met with such down to earth people, i got the chance to meet the owners and they showed me what they put in they're cafe de olla and it was super awesome to see how authentic they make their drinks, when you first walk in it has a very refreshing feeling, your met with really beautiful tapestries on the wall, it really takes you into a different world. If you are looking for a place to catch up with a friend or work remotely this is the place to be. The entire staff has shown great hospitality and so much love is poured onto each drink. As a coffee enthusiast each drink has been deliciously curated and crafted and has not disappointed. They have a variety of desserts & empanadas. I was delighted to find a new coffee joint in Yelp. I set out today to visit Amate, around 2:30 pm, well within the advertised business hours, but I couldn't find the place. There's no sign visible from the street. The listed phone number is in Las Vegas, which confused me even more. After about 15 mins of driving in circles, I observed that the address belongs to a church. (Neither Yelp nor the Amate website mentioned this.) So I went into the driveway, and still no sign. Observed a half-open gate; is my new favorite mocha hiding just beyond? I couldn't tell if I was welcome to enter, so I didn't. Altogether, that's an hour of my life that I won't get back. read more

10/10 coffee. I've been a local barista for about 3 years, so I'm picky about my coffee. It was so dang delicious. I've tried the Amate Latte and their vanilla latte. Both were so good hot or iced. Atmosphere is cozy. Staff is friendly and respectful. I bought their beans to use at home, and I've had friends compliment the flavor. A little bit hard to find, due to the gate and not much road signage, but it's an amazing hole in the wall spot. Highly recommend! read more

I loved coming here and I loved the drinks. I was sad when they closed for so long because of the remodel. I came in today looking forward to seeing the remodel and trying the new winter drinks. The interior looked the same to me so not sure what they remodeled. Maybe it was the bar/prep area? I was sad to see that the matcha drinks were crossed off. I loved the matcha from here. I ordered a churro latte and my friend ordered a cookie butter latte. It took a while to get drinks and it didn't seem busy. I waited 20 minutes and nothing. I went up to the counter to ask and my drink had been ready. I didn't hear them call my name. Maybe a mic and speaker is needed? My friend's cookie butter latte didn't taste like anything. My churro latte didn't taste like anything. I didn't taste any cinnamon. This is probably my last visit here. I was very disappointed. Now that San Fernando Coffee is open I'd rather go there for Latin inspired drinks. read more

I want to start this off by saying I've worked in the food industry/CS before and I truly understand how busy things can get. Secondly, I wish this review were for better terms considering our lattes and desserts were delicious however, the service was less than great and that alone puts me off from wanting to return. The lady who took our order (Jensen I believe) was super sweet & helpful with describing the drinks to us so shout out to her. But after that, our experience left us with a bitter taste. We ordered 3 drinks so the guy asked if I'd like a drink carrier to which I said yes please. Well, when the drinks were put inside the drink carrier, they didn't sit well because of the round design of the bottom of the cup, and they tipped over and spilled on the counter as well as on the floor as I was attempting to walk away. I politely asked for some napkins as I was offering to clean it up to which the guy handed me a handful of napkins. I began wiping the spilled coffee and my father (who needs to walk with a cane) actually got down on his knees to help me clean it up, but it also left him feeling upset because the workers didn't even offer to clean it themselves. I told the worker that the cups didn't fit well in the carrier and he said oh yeah it's because of our new cups, which led me to think this issue has likely happened before and if it has then why continue offering drink carriers and/or using these cups that clearly don't fit and continue to tip over. One of our drinks lost about a fourth of the coffee from it, but I didn't even bother asking them to remake it because I just wanted to leave at that point. While this may have been an accident all around, the principle that they didn't even offer to help was disappointing and hopefully they do better next time. read more
