The owners need to pay closer attention to quality control, customer experience, and the small details that actually matter in hospitality. They are a small family business so I can understand if the hours posted on Yelp are not always accurate. They also will not have a large variety of roasted beans on hand on any given day, but will fill orders. This is an old school business, so just call ahead before you go.

The main thing that stands out here is their 1987 coffee roaster which is the center piece of the cafe. They roast various single origin beans on a daily basis, so you know you can purchase some fresh coffee beans here. If you need your beans grounded, they do grind it for you depending on your brewing method. They have beans of light roast, medium roast and dark roast and sell by various weights for a very reasonable price. They also sell various tea leaves, baked goods (croissant, muffin, scones, bagel, Danish, coffee cake, Dessert Therapy cookies, and merchs. They also have a seasonable menu that changes. When I went, it was the Sakura season menu. Staff were all friendly and were very willing to answer any questions regarding the menu. Please note, the base coffee blend for each day varies and rotates on a daily basis For my visit, I tried ... 1. Buttered Coffee (4.5/5) The base coffee for the day was the Peru single origin, which was well-balanced; slightly sweet with a hint of tartness and nuttiness. They then add a chunk of butter into the coffee, which helps cut some of the acidity, but also is supposed to enhance the caffeine effect and give you additional energy from the fat. It does leave a layer of fat/oiliness so if you are not a fan of that, then this may not be for you. The butter did give it a subtle buttery flavor, which I personally liked. 2. Matcha with Sakura Cold Foam (4/5) The matcha was blended smoothly and was not grassy at all. The Sakura cold foam didn't really taste like Sakura (been to Japan, so know what real Sakura flavor should taste like), but instead, just tasted floral. 3. Columbia Supremo Whole Beans Full body and aromatic. Good for those who like to drink black coffee 4. Guatemala Huehuetenango Whole Beans: Crisp, acidic and a hint of nuttiness Glad I found this local roaster where I'll definitely be coming back to get some more fresh beans.

It's definitely a favorite with locals, but the line moves quickly, and the patio is dog friendly , so it's worth the wait on weekends. Parking can be a bit tricky, but not a problem if you park 1 or 2 blocks away.

I went with that as all the specialty drinks didn't interest me too much and seemed like they would be too sweet. It didn't take too long until it was ready. Nice flavor! Strong coffee without being bitter whatsoever, it tastes like good quality espresso. And it wasn't too sweet, I got it half sweet with the vanilla, and it was nicely balanced. I wish there were less sweet specialty coffee options so I could try something more unique but it was still good!
