Nicest ambience of any coffee shop in the area since Sagebrush in Quartz Hill closed(the new owners razed all the gorgeous sages and palo verdes - still sad about that). There are charging ports for laptops and the seating is good. Prices are a little high, especially for the matcha latte - 8.23 with tax and tip for a small! but until Lobo has indoor seating, I'll happily keep coming to Amate to do my computer work and try all their menu offerings. read more

Greeted right away, barista was helpful and friendly. I got the horchata matcha which is dairy free (made with almond milk) it was delicious, you do taste more of the horchata and then a hint of matcha as the after taste. My friend tried the rose latte she did mention it's very floral and grabbed a banana nut muffin as well (no gluten free pastries). Inside has a large table in the middle with a few small tables all around. A plant wall off to the side where you can actually purchase the plants. It's very minimal and modern inside, they also had a large patio outside too. The only con I had about this place was they had a note on the door that said restrooms are locked until 230pm. I don't understand how this is located in the student center of the church/schooling and no restrooms are open during a chunk of operating time. Also parking, it's a bit confusing but they do have signage to follow to get to the location. Also don't walk into the front of the student center (like I did) it's actually on the side of it where the open patio area is. read more

Want to give this 5 stars! This is honestly one of my favorite coffee shops in the AV. The quality of the coffee is always great and you can tell care goes into what they make. That said, I did want to mention pricing/value. I paid $17 for two coffees, and while they were really good, my drink had a lot of ice and I finished it in just a few sips. Y'all need to come check this place out asap! This cute cafe just recently opened up. It's the perfect spot to work remotely/studying. Vibes are immaculate and their drinks are fireeeee! Their workers so super sweet and actually recommended I try their blue Matcha horchata. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The cafe has plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, chill music, amazing menu, and can't forget the cool workers. Please consider coming to support the business! This is a really cute coffee shop. Parking can be confusing because it is on a campus but thankfully they put out signs so you know you're in the right place. I was greeted by very friendly baristas who were patient as I decided what I wanted. I got an iced amate latte and I really liked how it wasn't too sweet but was still delicious. There's plenty of seating inside if you want a place to do homework which is nice as well. I will definitely be back! read more

Located next to Desert Christian high school on the south side of City church. If you're looking at the main chapel of city church enter through the driveway on the right. Head straight, it'll be on the right hand side. Look for A-frame signs to guide you to entrance. It is a little hidden if you're not familiar with the area. Great welcome, service and real coffee. They make all their latte syrups in house. Pastries available but sells out pretty quickly. Ample parking, patio benches, interior seating with extended room still under construction. I finally found a new place in the AV that is safe, clean, has great drinks and a friendly staff! Amate coffee is located on the same campus as Desert Christian High School and the church. It is a beautiful atmosphere with a huge fountain and tons of plants inside. They serve ceremonial matcha and high quality coffee that is ground fresh for each drink. The horchata matcha with cinnamon cold foam is a must try! I also love the Mexican mocha, shaken cafe de Olla and a few other drinks. They use Abuelita chocolate in the mocha which is good BUT for reference it's owned by Nestle and contains seed oils + artificial ingredients. If you choose to make this at home, use Ibarra Chocolate, it's Mexican owned and mostly clean ingredients! I do wish they had more individual seating inside or shaded seating outside but that won't stop me from coming to work/study from here when the library on the AV campus is closed. read more

Was excited to try this place, the first real coffee house in the AV. Unfortunately, the experience was less than stellar; the young man with the glasses was rude the entire time. They made our drinks and never called us when they were ready, so our hot drinks were warm, the young man with the glasses decided to have an attitude with my wife when she asked why they never called us for our order. As we left, the same guy scoffed at us, "Have a nice day", disingenuously, as to get in the last word. The coffee; the coffee drinks were sugar bombs, can't even taste the coffee. We had expressed that we didn't want overly surgery drinks. Oh, well, that's the AV, glad I don't live here. read more

guys! one of the best coffee shops i've been to in the AV by far, i got the horchata latte omg it was delicious and made me even happier to know that they make their own horchata milk in house (all their syrups too!), so creamy and sweet. my husband went simple with a cortado and he was surprised that their still coffee shops like this one that still make traditional coffee and best part is he loved it its his go to drink now. the workers there are super kind they went out of their way to explain to us the menu, service was a 10/10. definitely will be coming here everyday to get my daily dose of caffeine, its such a cute place specially with their christmas decor was a cherry on top. read more

Great coffee shop! It was a bit hard to find at first. I parked in the church parking lot and walked around until someone from the church noticed. They kindly let me know that the coffee shop was at the other entrance, going south towards Avenue J, and not the main church entrance. I got the amate coffee and loved it! I'm so glad there's a coffee shop like this in the area and that I have options other than Starbucks lol. I liked that they serve mizuba matcha, and I'll have to try it next time. I also got the chicken empanada which was a great snack. I don't know what the dough was made of, but I enjoyed how it was not greasy which made it easy to eat on the road. They have a huge restroom since it's a shared restroom with the church. Parking is in a big shared lot. The cashier was friendly and the area is spacious and welcoming. Great place to work or to catch up with a friend. I'll definitely be stopping by whenever I'm in town! read more

With this review however I purchased one and I'm enjoying the ambience and Wi-Fi in the building. I appreciate that it's not too loud. very nicely tucked away from too many stragglers.
