Omg!! I couldn't wait to try this place. Trust me.. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The red velvet cookie was ABSOLUTELY delicious. I also ordered The Amate iced coffee. Everything was phenomenal! i've traveled the world and tried many coffee shops on tour. Amate has one of the best cold brews I've tried in socal. It's a decadent mexican inspired drink with a cocktail orange on top. I ordered a matcha latte, and while it was average/good, I was expecting a more traditional, authentic matcha flavor based on the café's refined design. The drink was decent, but it leaned a little sweeter and lighter than the rich, earthy profile I associate with high-quality matcha. Hopefully the owners can take this suggestion and implement a more traditional approach to their matcha latte in the future, curating to those customers who appreciate the true flavors of matcha. What a peaceful environment this coffee shop has offered to the AV! I love the way the staff are welcoming to your arrival and how educated they are when it comes to knowing which coffee would be best if you aren't sure what to order; their customer service is above and beyond! My favorite drink so far has to be their Iced Dirty Chai with oatmilk as well as their Horchata Matcha! Uff, you can tell that they make their syrups and horchata in-house since their taste is like no other. The fact that it's on City Church's property makes it welcoming for families to bring their kids and not be worried for any solicitors to be wandering around in which makes this coffee shop even more appealing to spend quality time with the family and friends. As a college student, finding a cute cafe that sells good coffee and has plenty of room to hang out and study or chill is so hard here in the AV. I'm so happy I finally found a cafe that meets all my needs, came here today with a friend to check it out and firstly the coffee here is the best I've had in my life, it's flavorful and the perfect balance of sweet yet powerful coffee! Secondly the staff is friendly and will gladly give you recommendations based on what you like. Thirdly, the space is so chill, there's lots of indoor and outdoor seating and it's full of goodies you can buy. I'm pretty sure it's owned and ran by the church, however it's a welcome space for everyone, being atheist I was a bit scared that I would feel out of place, but all the people were such sweethearts, you can tell they are true children of God, I really appreciate the space they've created for the coffee lovers of AV! It's a bit hard to find since you have to drive into the south entrance of the lot and drive straight passed the gate but once you find it it's a gem!!! Personally I would rate this spot 3.5 out of 5 but it doesn't let me. The ambiance was clean, the atmosphere was good. My husband and I ordered an iced dulce de leche with cinnamon soft foam and strawberry matcha. The cinnamon soft foam was so delicious but I couldn't taste the dulce de leche flavor in my latte, I just tasted like coffee with milk. My husband loved his drink, the strawberry matcha. The price was a little expensive and we had to wait for our drinks 25 minutes. read more

First time at ámate, man i have to say i've never been met with such down to earth people, i got the chance to meet the owners and they showed me what they put in they're cafe de olla and it was super awesome to see how authentic they make their drinks, when you first walk in it has a very refreshing feeling, your met with really beautiful tapestries on the wall, it really takes you into a different world. I was delighted to find a new coffee joint in Yelp. I set out today to visit Amate, around 2:30 pm, well within the advertised business hours, but I couldn't find the place. There's no sign visible from the street. The listed phone number is in Las Vegas, which confused me even more. After about 15 mins of driving in circles, I observed that the address belongs to a church. (Neither Yelp nor the Amate website mentioned this.) So I went into the driveway, and still no sign. Observed a half-open gate; is my new favorite mocha hiding just beyond? I couldn't tell if I was welcome to enter, so I didn't. Altogether, that's an hour of my life that I won't get back. read more
