Amaro's Table Castlerock is beautiful, the aesthetic whispers elegant tranquility. (But wait). The service is efficient and friendly but impersonal. We had one person take our order, another bring our beverages, someone else brought our appetizers, yet another person delivered our meal. Appetizer: Ricotta and Jam = excellent. Mains: Mr. Wonderful ordered the Citrus Glazed Salmon and enjoyed it very much. I ordered the meatloaf, while I liked the mash and asparagus, I probably wouldn't order it again. Dessert: Ricotta Donuts = fabulous! The biggest negative we experienced was in the form of a *very LOUD threesome, seated a table away from us. Truly loud, obnoxious and without any self awareness. The hostess attempted to seat two separate couples next to the rowdy threesome, both couples requested to be moved. The couple that did end up sitting next to them, engaged us in conversation and verbalized what we were thinking. I honestly don't know what Amaro's could've done about this situation, perhaps cut off their drinks? read more

We stopped there after visiting Mount St. Helens. We'd never heard of this place, so we were in for a pleasant surprise. The food was excellent (fried calamari and steak sandwich). The service was even better. Our server talked with us for a bit, and she explained everything to us. The manger came and asked us how it everything was, and we told him how good it was. We ended up having a really nice conversation. I highly recommend eating here. They are a chef-owned operation, and the food shows it. We travel up to the area often, so we definitely will be back! read more

This was my second time trying Amaro's and it did not disappoint either time! We came in early on Valentine's day and they sat us immediately and were very attentive! The Lounge is such a cute little bar area. I loved the decor and music. The FOOD! We got the Ricotta and Jam appetizer and it was amazing! Not too filling either. We at the Lobster Linguini and Steak Sandwich. I got the steak sandwich the first time as well but it's just that good! The Lobster Linguini was so delightful. We had dinner at the Castle Rock Amaro's and we were beyond pleased!! The fillet with the peppercorn brandy sauce was spot on, cooked to perfection! You don't get that very often! What a wonderful surprise! One of the better restaurant experiences we've had in a while. We were on our way back to PDX from Seattle and looking for a good dinner spot. Amaro had good reviews, so we figured we'd give it a shot. We now understand why. Definitely exceeded expectations. We sat on the lounge side which was very cool. Had a beautiful bar and nice seating area. Tricia was our server and she was incredible. AMAZING service. So very kind, engaging, and thoughtful. Certainly took our experience to the next level. We had the beet salad and their risotto of the day!! They do a new risotto every day... they do it right! Dishes were delicious and kept you coming back for more. Since it was our first time at Amaro, Tricia treated us to their baked donuts. They were delicious. Such a nice sweet treat!! Highly recommend visiting Amaro. We stopped here on a road trip from San Francisco to Seattle. We are from Fayetteville, Arkansas and have done plenty of traveling. I say that to say that my chicken dish (pan seared chicken with seasonal vegetables and a sun dried tomato cream sauce) It was absolutely perfection- probably one of the top 3 chicken dishes of all times. My husband got a delicious Cesar salad and an herbed chicken sandwich- also good. The winner was my plate by far with the chicken, fresh Summer vegetable medley, and creamy mashed potatoes with that sauce! WE are every single bite and told the waitress it was superb. read more

We were just passing through right as they opened. Super cool speakeasy vibe. Staff is amazingly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Wonderful liquor selection, gin, bourbon, whiskey, and craft cocktails. We got the fondue served with a pretzel. Get it! Don't question this carb and cheese offering. Wedge salad was just the right funk of blue cheese and crisp iceberg. Seasonal bolognese with pappardelle pasta was sensational. Bartender asked if it was our first time and as it was, they complimented us with their ricotta donuts. So warm, sweet, and fluffy. Caramel sauce was perfect compliment. Joined a group of local ladies for lunch. We began at 1, so the Happy Hour menu was not yet available until 2. Regardless, we all found something of interest; some of us were repeat diners. I ordered the chicken sandwich, as have read many reviews about their chicken being some of the best in town; my chosen side was fries. Despite our group of appx 8, service was quick both when ordering & food being brought out. Our server was good about asking specifics as we ordered, such as sauces for fries, salad dressing wanted etc. I recall always having great service when at this location, whether being seated in the lounge or the restaurant. My chicken sandwich was good, served on a hoagie style roll. The fries were good, but not as hot as I would've liked, similar to my last time there. I had asked for ranch sauce & ketchup for dipping my fries in, of which the latter was correctly served but seems as though I got some aioli instead of ranch. Whereas I agree the chicken was good: a deboned chicken breast butterflied, but for my tastes, the spices in the breading was a bit on the heavy side. The hoagie roll was good also, but with sourdough being the only white bread I prefer to eat, I may ask for other options if I order the same meal again. Basically in the middle of nowhere (though one of the exits to Mt. St. Helens Park) is this GEM. A gourmet restaurant which apparently has a bigger parent restaurant in Vancouver (going there next trip because of this experience). VERY worth a special stop for an excellent meal. read more

As always the food and service was fantastic! We ordered the calamari for the first time and it was delicious. I got the club sandwich and it was great and the portion was large. I will say I do wish they would consider updating their menu with what items contain common allergies. Lots of restaurants do this now and it's so helpful and in the long run It would be less questions for the customers to ask the servers. Every time we've came in they've been incredibly accommodating to my allergy, but this update would be so nice. Some restaurants even have a separate allergy menu that you can request too. read more

Delicious dinner! I had the club sandwich, my daughter had a garlic butter shrimp dish and my wife had the steak sandwich. All meals were awesome. We were in town for the Axe House to have fun doing axe throwing across the street and came here for dinner afterwards. Owners of both places need to put together a package deal as that would be awesome. Come here for a meal and you won't be disappointed! Also, prices were good for the times we are in. read more

We came here on a limb as I wanted a glass of good wine and to sit outside. We were able to walk there, which was nice. They have a patio off the back surrounded by woods so it was off the street and quiet. The server was Britney and she was AMAZING! Super friendly, super helpful a total 5*. She really made the experience perfect. We had great wine, very yummy old fashions. I got a burger on a gluten-free bun which was delicious. And we were able to get a gluten-free brownie which was perfect to end my meal with my wine. We would totally come back here again. read more

Went last night Friday, not too busy. The bartender in the blue shirt with some tats on his right arm was soooo slow! He was more concerned about flirting with the female workers than pumping out drinks in a timely manner. It literally took over 20 minutes to get a beer because there was no sense of urgency from him at all! This place was impressive from the moment we walked in. Very nice ambience and setting in a great building. The hostess up front greeted us with a huge smile and was very welcoming. We were seated immediately and our waiter attended to us right away to explain specials and how the place worked. The menu was quite appealing and the hubs and I both decided we needed a minute with it to really decide, since there were several viable options. We ordered drinks first. Mine was the House Sangria; some of the best I've ever had. Hubs went with a Whiskey Sour, that was not only beautiful to the eye, but also very delicious. I landed on the BBQ Ribs. Very good, quite lean on the bone pork ribs with a nice, balanced sauce. Served with a decent coleslaw and a baked potato (subbed for the Mac and cheese which I don't enjoy). Very tasty. Would definitely order again. Hubs had the Chicken Marsala which came with nice mashed potatoes and a mixed veg side. He was happy and cleaned his plate with no issues. Our delightful waiter stopped by to explain that because it was our first visit here, they had a small treat for us. After the entree course, he brought Ricotta Donuts. It's what they're known for, with good reason. They came with a side of caramel dipping sauce and I honestly could have eaten them all if Hubs hadn't meekly suggested that he might also want to enjoy one. We ended up sharing, despite my protest. Initial thoughts: really great restaurant with quality ingredients and food, beautiful decor and very inviting, especially given its location. Sadly, it took 50+ min for our food to come out, which ordinarily would've been tolerable, except our 7 year-old was hangry so it made that part of the experience pretty rough. I'm not sure if the kitchen was short staffed, but it was painful to wait that long, especially with a hungry child. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, with house slaw, caramel and aioli and it did not disappoint. It came with homemade wagyu butter chips and a barbecue ranch dipping sauce which was so good. We also got free ricotta donuts with a caramel dipping sauce for being first time customers and those were delicious. Overall I would definitely give Amaro's Table another go, and cross my fingers that they had more help in the kitchen. read more

We are new to the area, I knew my birthday was coming up soon so I asked several people where a good steak house was for my special occasion. Amaro's came up every time. Last night (on my birthday) we went to Amaro's and had the best time. The food was terrific (see pics), the atmosphere was busy yet organized like a well oiled machine. My filet mignon was PERFECT! I swear I could almost cut it with my fork it was that tender. The restaurant was clean, the staff was efficient and pleasant. Yes, we will be back again soon. read more

Wowowow. My friend and I came in around 1pm on May 1 on the tail end of a very long drive in a Uhaul. We were exhausted and delirious, and after lots of fast food and mediocre diners, we were not expecting such a lovely meal. We were totally blown away by the food and the service! Our server could not have been more sweet and welcoming. The other reviews aren't lying about the ricotta donuts. SO good. The spot is so cute inside and out (even the bathroom was *so* nice?!), and it was such a lovely break between an incredibly long and stressful bout of driving. We moved to Seattle that day and have still not had a meal as good as that lunch at Amaro's. read more

Hostess, table server, and kitchen runner all gave exceptional service. Certainly a 5+. They go above and beyond. Ambience was sort of upscale diner. Clean and crisp. Food was very good. Portions huge, especially at lunch. We tried the little chicken option at lunch and the fried chicken sandwich. Their homemade coleslaw is delicious! My wife really loved the french fries. The fried chicken was pretty good, but not the absolute best I've had. We were going to pass on dessert, but it was so nice of them to give us an "on the house" Ricotta donuts because it was our first time in their restaurant. Sat in the bar with Iridian as our server. 11/10 for promptness and top-tier service. She was absolutely attentive to what I needed at the time and did not take her attention away from our table. Food was amazing as per usual, ambience is superb here. Cannot go wrong with Amaros table as they are always a classic with great food and great service. Ok been here twice more now. Still excellent food, still excellent service. The word has definitely gotten out because it's been packed both times. I do have one issue since my last visit however... the noise. We were seated in a booth that had a table to the side of us that had 2 kids screaming and running around like they lived there, and another party seated behind us with a very high pitched screaming toddler. It was so loud I couldn't hear our server and had to have him repeat himself numerous times. Major damper on such a beautiful restaurant that should have been more enjoyable and peaceful for our celebration. That isn't their fault of course and I don't know what they could do to fix that issue. Either we try to go earlier in the day and during the week or we just don't come back for a while to see if the hype calms a bit. read more

If I could give this experience a 10, I would!! Walking in the door was greated by a very warm and friendly hostess. The atmosphere was instantly warm and welcoming. Sat in the bar area and had the best service. Waitress was very attentive and so calm. She suggested a blueberry margarita and let me just say I had to try it! They asked about celebrating anything and if we had been in before. They all made you feel like family. The manager came over and also welcomed us in. Even to bagging up our food. Its the little things that make an entire experience memorable. The drive here was over an hour but I will be very intentional about coming back amd recommending this restaurant. It isnt often that restaurants can nail 100% service, quality of food and atmosphere and this has been accomplished here The food was amazing and I cant wait to get back and try more items off the menu!! People kept telling me the chicken here was amazing and I was like yeah yeah I've heard that before. LET ME TELL YOU the chicken is OUT OF THIS WORLD. The location doesn't look like anything spectacular from the outside, but it's really lovely inside! The dining room is gorgeous, service is amazing, value for the meal is amazing. Really wonderful dining experience with exquisite food. Everyone must try the chicken! Food is a 4.5, an extra 1/2 star for the service. We stopped by for dinner Friday night on the drive from Seattle to Portland. Everyone from the hostess to the waitress were super friendly and welcoming. It's actually quite nice inside for a small town restaurant, with pretty chandeliers, could be a special date night. Appetizers were great, calamari and Brussels sprouts. Everyone enjoyed their entrees from the salmon, to steak sandwich, pasta bolognese, and veggie burger. The vegetarian selection is pretty limited but they will work with you to find something that fits food restrictions. They gave us complimentary ricotta doughnuts for dessert, which were amazing.
