This service was absolutely more than I expected. My grandson's new jacket was coming apart under the arm. No way I could fix it to look good. Went in, the lady was very nice, did tell me it would be a lot of work but she could do it. It had to be done from the inside. I was amazed at the work she did and it was on time. The price for the work was very reasonable, the jacket work was great, you would never have known it was splitting at the seam. I was so grateful. This was my experience that I wanted to share. 1 Star I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience. I brought in a dress to be hemmed for a friend's wedding. It only needed a few inches taken off the length. During my fitting, I was measured and told to come back in a few days to pick it up, but I was never given a price estimate beforehand. When I returned, I was told the cost would be $92. I was genuinely surprised because the dress itself cost about the same amount. I simply commented that I felt the price seemed high. I had every intention of paying--I was only expressing my surprise since I hadn't been told the cost in advance. Instead of explaining the pricing, I was met with a very rude response. I was told, "If the dress cost $10, do you want me to charge you $10?" and then, "This time this is the price. Next time you can do it yourself." I was honestly taken aback by how I was spoken to. A simple explanation of the pricing would have been completely understandable, but there was no reason to respond in such a dismissive and unprofessional way. Unfortunately, after I left and looked over the dress more carefully, I realized the hem wasn't even completed properly. A significant section had been left unhemmed, so the work I paid for wasn't fully finished. Between the lack of a price estimate, the poor customer service, and the incomplete alteration, I won't be returning. I bought my dress for my son's wedding and tried it on quickly, thinking it fit perfectly. I tried it on again three days before I left for the wedding, and it was too big. BEWARE If I could give negative stars I would. This lady ruined my daughters winterball dress and called me a liar!!!. Her assistant took the measurements and despite us asking for only a couple inches off so it hit her wrist and to keep the bell bottom sleeve they cut off at least 14 inches turning it into a tight cropped sleeve removing the bell bottom portion - not at all what we requested. When I went back into to complain she gave me grief over it. If she had any questions she should have called before doing the drastic work. Even though I had to buy a second dress because she ruined the first one I decided to give her another chance thinking it was just a misunderstanding. When I went in today she said are you sure you want me to hem your pants. I said sure it was probably just a miscommunication with your assistant. Then she said I don't think so. I think you lied about the dress. This lady called me the customer a liar?!?! Why would I lie about a dress and having to buy a second one because she ruined the first? Horrible way to do business and treat customers. Be forewarned DO NOT GO HERE!!!! She cost me a lot of $$$ and treated me horribly. read more

She has hemmed my many pairs of jeans and dress pants, replaced linings in 2 jackets (both leather) and 2 long coats, fixed a hole in a cashmere sweater, and more. Excellent work. Holy Cow! Worst ever! Took two weeks for what should have been literally 15 minutes worth of work and the price was higher than Nordstrom. When I asked how it cost that much, she (the owner) says, "I don't know"...Total charge to have 3 suits have the sleeves taken in on the length 3/4" - was a whopping $142.00. She said She said it was $38 per item but the math didn't add up at all... $38x3=$114, so what was the other $28 for? She overcharged and when I pointed out the math problem she said "I don't know". The lady who is always there (maybe the owner, don't know) is not the nicest person. When I asked why a simple hem for a dress cost so much more than a pair of pants, she asked "why you ask me this?" As if I shouldn't ask for pricing...I left all my items there to be hemmed against my better judgement only to find that she left the dress too long and it drags on the ground so I will have to take it to have it altered again...but not back to her. I have had items altered or repaired on at least 7 or 8 different occasions over the years, including my 52 year old high school letterman's jacket I can't bring myself to part with, and never been less than completely satisfied.
