Called 3 months before my event to see if there would be availability for a quick (2-week) alteration on a bridesmaid dress. This shop has great Yelp reviews and is close to home. My previous guy had to shut down due to COVID so this looked promising as a replacement for the long run. I needed hem of one layer of Jersey fabric, and light lined cups put in, and I needed it within two weeks before the event (I'm pregnant so alterations have to happen as close to the event as possible). Cecilia said yes, just stop by 2-3 weeks before my event, no appointment needed. I came by after work, there was no other customer so she was able to help me right away. The AC was out and it was mid-90s that day, so it was uncomfortable but I figured I'd just be quick. She quoted me $50 for the hem of a single layer (half the cost of the dress, and twice what I used to pay my previous local shop). She said she thought it looked good without cups. That's nice for her to say, but being pregnant and busty, there was no way I could not have lining of some sort. If the night got cold, we'd have an issue. If the night got hot, I'd easily sweat through the dress. Not to mention, there's not much actual support going on so cups would give a nice lift. IYKYK. I reiterated my desire for light cups. Then she asked why I don't just use a push up bra. I told her I don't want to have to adjust it all night, and I don't want the underwire digging into my already uncomfortable pregnant belly, could I please just get cups? The only option she gave me was to provide her one of my bras, for her to cut out the cups and sew into the dress (???). I understand the functionality, but then you lose a $50 bra in the process. I've never gone for alterations and the facility not have cup options on site, so this confused me, given her high ratings. I decided against it and that I'd find another option for the cup part of the dress. We agreed to a Monday pickup at 5pm, a few weeks away. I got my pickup slip and was on my way. I arrive to pickup my dress at 4:45, and she's currently helping another gentleman. So I sat to wait my turn. I give her my pink pickup slip. She gets my dress and I try on, the fit was good, no issues with alteration quality. After trying on, I go to pay, and she begins to tell me that I need to call ahead to pickup in the future, because it can get conflicting with appointments. I told her we previously discussed 5pm so I had no reason to suspect this changed. As I pull out my wallet, she asked if I had cash. Sure, lady. At this point I'm pretty annoyed. Overpriced, no cups, bad communication on pickup protocol, and now she wants me to do her a favor by paying cash. So I paid cash, and then I asked for a receipt. To which she said she doesn't have one. I let her know I paid so I simply would like proof that I paid, and she had kept my pink slip. She said she must keep the pink slip. That's fine, I just want a receipt in its place. Finally, she marks the pink slip as paid and handed it back to me, visibly annoyed. I say thank you for the dress and I left. She fought my requests every step of the way, and charged too much for a simple hem. I really was hoping to like this place, but it rubbed me the wrong way at each interaction. read more

I asked for simple hems for jeans, she quoted me 15 when I called. Then, when I arrived there, she quoted me 20 because they were wide legged jeans, not skinny jeans even though a wider bottom definitely doesn't justify the 5 dollar increase. That's fine, but when my jeans came back, they were extremely sloppily sewed. The edges were uneven, the thread had come loose in several places and stitching had fallen out. Not to mention that the color of the stitching didn't match either. Please do not come to her, I am surprised that she has such high reviews for such sloppy work. My dad went back and asked her to fix her work and she gave him attitude. Additionally, when she fixed it, it was STILL crooked and the stitches were still falling out. Cargo pants are usually "loose fit, relaxed fit or roomy fit." Even if they are "slim cut," they are too baggy for my skinny legs. Fast Alterations and Tailor did a fantastic job on my cargo pants, hemming them and taking them in. They look and fit great! Highly recommend this business. read more

If I could give this lady negative stars I would. Worst ever!!! I took her my daughters $440.00 designer hoco dress to put in bra pads and shorten, and skirt slimmed down a bit tighter. I bought the pads I wanted and have always used in dresses and she insisted they weren't right and she had to go to Walmart and buy a strapless bra and sew inside the dress. I had never heard of such a thing and had alterations on plenty of formal dresses having two daughters. This was suppose to take one week. When we returned she to pick up the dress at set time she had only hemmed one side of the dress no pads put in and had taken in the dress soooo tight it was not going to Wk and it was waaay too short on the side she had shortened. We agreed for me to come back today (5 days late) at this point she had told me I still owed 35.00 and she only takes cash which I provided her before seeing the dress. The dress hem now looked like a mushroom bubble dress at the bottom, gathered up and crooked! We immediately asked what had happened to the dress and she said no just put it in it's fine. When she got it on it was NOT FINE! This woman had sewed three pads she claimed in a dress to the point the dress could no longer zip! Who does that? She claimed we had asked for that, by this time my daughter is balling and telling her no we didn't! What happened to the bottom the dress was sooo short it was not wearable and she had sewn the hem angled and bunched up. Then she giggled and said oh I know what I did I will fix it. The too big dress was now waaay too small in every way. She tried to send us away again and I flat out refused to leave until the dress was usable and right. I did forget to mention that tonight there were MULTIPLE grease type stains on the dress that were not there last Thursday when we came and it was not ready. We sat there for over an hr and a half where she did the most that could be done but since she cut off the bottom she only had an inch to make it longer including the hem in that inch. She did adjust everything else to usable, but you can't fix cutting the dress and stains on the dress. All the while trying to convince my daughter, still crying, that was the length she had asked for. I was there, two fittings, I agreed to length and I assure you that was not it! I kept telling the lady how unsatisfied and unhappy I was with the services and I did not want to argue, but she kept on any way. When I told her I don't feel she should keep my full amount she charged me for alterations, she tried to tell me I should now give her MORE MONEY! I was in disbelief ray this woman's nerve! Luckily this was a 440 dollar dress not a much more expensive prom dress. Hoco is in two weeks we have to make this Wk now but if I can save another girl this experience by my review then great. She is horrible, and incompetent, and blamed us which was the icing on the cake. Mistakes happen I could accept that but arguing and blaming us is unforgivable! Please don't take expensive clothing to her! My daughter ordered her dress from Australia and it's very sad it won't be exactly as it should have been. read more

I stumbled into this place a couple years ago because they were the only ones open on a holiday. I wanted a pair of jeans shortened and a shirt taken in. Even though my request to get this done by the next day was outragous they went out of their way to get it done. Cecelia is fantastic and does excellent work! I had taken in pants for my husband and we thought we had the length right but we were wrong (she did a great job on them regardless). When I took them back in I was fully prepared to pay to have it corrected since it was our error and she wouldn't hear of it. She showed me how to measure him with pins (since he wasn't with me) and sent me home with pins. She insisted I bring them back and she would do it for free. She was so kind, generous and patient with my two little ones and her courtesy is so refreshing!
