I'm in a wedding out of state this summer and the groom is working with a local, family-run suit store that has a measurement form on their website. I wasn't able to get full measurements at two local big box stores (it's been awhile, maybe this is a thing now?) so I decided to seek out a smaller business. I called Old Country Tailor and they picked up after the second ring. I explained the situation and asked if I could come by on my way home in half an hour. They said I could arrive any time and it should only take a couple minutes. There were three customers in the store and I waited only a minute - just long enough to get a glimpse of employees working behind the register among stacks upon stacks of cloth. Seems like they have plenty of work to go around. I was recognized by voice and we started on what I called about. I pulled up the measurement form on my phone, got all my numbers filled out, and was treated like an old friend. When I asked "how much do I owe you?" she refused payment and said "nothing, that wasn't enough work to charge you!" I was having a moderately garbage week at that point and it made me remember there are still good people out there! That being said, I'll definitely go back for more substantial needs in the future.

The woman working when I picked it up was lovely. Very friendly. But the alterations... oooof. If I wanted them to be a disaster I would have done them myself and what he did: I COULD have done myself. He basically just folded the extra lace over and sewed it. And you can see it! And he had to reinforce the cups to the dress and there was a gap/hole (that I had to fix myself). I tried to take a couple photos- but just go somewhere else. Save yourself the heartbreak

We recently picked up a…read moreRalph Lauren sweater we took in to be dry cleaned that has only been worn a handful of times as it was a Christmas gift. It was dropped off with no damage or stains and we picked it up with a big oil looking spot on the front. We immediately took it back in and they re-cleaned it. We just picked it up and there are now 14 oil spots. They refunded us for the cleaning but now there are spots all over a $135 sweater and it's unwearable. We contacted Green Valley and are waiting for a solution, but will not be taking any more of our dry cleaning here until they can either 1) get the stains out or 2) compensate us for the sweater cost.

Laura worked on my friend's wedding dress (hemming with a train, fix straps, add cups), her cousin's dress (hemming), and not only my dress for my friend's wedding (hemming), but another jumpsuit I had for my brother's wedding. She fixed the sleeves on a custom jumpsuit I had ordered online. She really knows her stuff. She's able to do it all, and if you ask me she's a magician. For the brides she will set up three appointments, the initial, a fitting, and a third to make sure everything is good to go. What a gem.

She altered my wedding dress and also worked with my mom and I to turn her wedding dress into a mini version that I could wear for my rehearsal, as well as altered my mom's mother of the bride dress. The mini dress was absolutely perfect and was a total hit! Her attention to detail was amazing. She did not cut any corners and made sure I left with a perfect dress, even if it meant she had to work after what was supposed to be my last appointment to fix something she noticed so I could pick the dress up later that night before I had to leave. She went the extra mile with my wedding dress as well, when I tried it on at my last fitting and it needed to be taken in more. She never gave me any reason to worry, and she worked overtime to make sure it was ready to go. Overall, I feel so lucky that I found Laura and that she was able to help with my alterations.
