My granddaughter's backpack came apart at the seam. We had recently Moved to Fair Oaks- I couldn't find my sewing kit and as I calculated the cost to replace my kit, I spied Alterations by Sally . I took and chance ran in, hoping that someone might have time go repair the backpack. The owner stopped what she was doing , took the backpack and started looking for thread to match the backpack. Within minutes she was done. She not only charged me a small price but gave me. Small backpack for my 4 year old granddaughter. It was apparent as I looked around her shop, that her work is exquisite and that she pays close attention to details . This is now my go to for clothing repairs Thank you for your kindness! read more

Needed a quick service, was offered a even better one. Super nice and helpful. I will most likely go back when ever I need a fix!

Sally is amazing, I will never go to anyone else from now on!!! She was able to fix these custom made jackets I had made when I went to Thailand. She gave me exactly what I asked for. I'm excited to finally wear my jackets. read more

I called before I came over , the owner I assume , took my quick sewing job and knocked it out in five minutes flat. It looks like it came from the factory the way she worked that machine. I watched as she concentrated on the quick project and you could tell she knew her way around a sewing machine. It reminded me of watching my mom hem my new pants when I was a kid. Thanks for the quick and professional service. I will be back and will recommend y'all to anyone who asks. read more

Sally who does alterations is extremely rude, condescending, and argumentative. I brought my jacket in because the zipper broke and she grabbed the jacket and rolled her eyes. I had the zipper with me and just needed the zipper back on the zipper line. She immediately questioned if the zipper belonged to the jacket and I told her yes. She looked absolutely annoyed fixing my jacket for five minutes. She gave the jacket back to me, but the zipper wasn't all the way connected. So I attempted to zip it up and it got stuck on the fabric. She grabs the jacket again and belittles me and told me "look what you did! This is why it's broken!" Mind you I'm a grown woman (30 years old.) I'm looking at her expressionless because I refuse to react to people who are angry souls. She then attempts to flash me a smile with crazy eyes. (Probably because she had to sit with that awkward silence from me and she realized how embarrassing her behavior was) She charges me $10 for five minutes of belittling me. (Cash only might I add) so I had to take a stroll to the market across the way and come back. Whoever wants to be yelled at on a sunny Wednesday afternoon give her a visit. I will never return. read more

After reading all the great reviews I thought i would be in good honest hands. To be honest the work was good. However EXTREMELY Over priced. After further quotes i realized I had been a bit over charged. Unfortunately it was my fault for for not getting quotes before hand. read more

I came here to have a bridesmaids dress altered. Due to some last minute changes, I had to purchase a size up and on my petite frame this dress was quite oversized. Sally did great work, but the cost of alterations was more than the dress itself! You'll get quality alterations here but be prepared to shell out. read more

Her rating is high but personally feel like it shouldn't. If you choose her, be firm with your decisions. I notice a trick she does is already prepping your outfit & that causes awkwardness rejecting her later. She refuse to give me the price until she is done putting the clothes to the back after asking over 3times. Her attitude is not good. It seems like she charge what she feels like. She ask when I need it, I said it doesn't matter much but Friday would be nice since I would like it for work. She turns around & said in a frustrating tone, "you said don't matter?! Now you say Friday?! Why?" Because of me giving chances, I gave her 1. Results are not good, I am not satisfied with my suit. 1st and Last, Will look for a new alteration. read more

The best!!!! Highly recommend Sally. She's fantastic, prompt and can provide same day service.

Nice work , random pricing but got the job done on stuff that were rejected elsewhere

I found this shop on yelp. Sally comes highly recommended, both for her work and her pricing. I needed two pairs of pants hemmed, and not necessarily in a hurry. She informed me she could do them both and have them in a week. Nine dollars each. They were ready when she promised, no hidden fees. Note to future customers: cash only. read more

I called this place asking about alterations pricing and this lady went on a rant saying that her pricing differs depending on what I need done. Her tone was very rude and impatient. Maybe next time just say "oh why don't you bring in what you have and I can give you a quote?" How hard is that? I'm going somewhere else because if she can't respond to a very simple question with some kindness, I'm not interested in doing business with her. read more

If I could give this shop more stars, I would. Sally is the absolute epitome of supreme customer service! Her work is well done and extremely timely. She is always looking to prioritize "when do you need this done"' and always has it done ahead of schedule. She has repaired and altered so many garments for our family including school uniforms, semi formal dresses, pants and kiddos clothes that just need minor repair. We couldn't be more grateful to live just around the corner from a shop that is so reliable and keeps us looking and feeling our best! read more

Where do I begin, a friend of mine decided to pull together a last minuet wedding with less then a month to prepare. I just had a baby, and I was asked to be a bridesmaid. I go pick out a dress thinking that I would only shrink in 3 weeks not get bigger as I just popped out a kid. No, I was wrong I grew almost 3 inches ESP in the boob area. I tried my dress on and realized it was to small. I bring it to sally almost in tears on the 19, the wedding is on the 22. I asked her to do a corset top as there was no room to let it out. Asked her if she had time... and when she found out the dates she looked at me like I was crazy or that she wanted to kill me for putting her under so much stress. She reassured me she would get something done she would try her best. Then I'm like ok, well this dress isn't going to look the best as it's a rushed dress I am expecting the gods honest worst, I mean I couldn't imagine anyone being able to get what she did done in a few days... she got it done with in less then 24 HOURS... yes hours not days. This lady has magical fingers. Not only is she making my best friends wedding what she wants but she is making a new self conscious moms month as she is making me feel comfortable confident and beautiful. From one mother to another it's what I needed at that point in time. Her and her husband are so pleasant and so sweet. If you even look at reviews wondering where to go she is your lady, she seriously works wonders, great priced and family orientated. read more

Absolutely satisfied with her work! She can fix the unfixable. Will most definitely be going back for any and all alterations.

I have been bringing dresses to Sally since 2003, and she has NEVER let me down! Not only is her work impeccable, she is so kind and helpful. Definitely recommend her EVERYTIME! Most recently I brought my wedding dress to Sally to be altered. I bought my dress at a boutique in LA, and brought it back to Sacramento to be altered. To my surprise and horror, somehow egg yolk got on my dress between the boutique and Sally. You can imagine how upset I was when we found this. But Sally immediately came to the rescue! Not only did she take it home to work on after hours, she was able to get it all out (including the smell)!!!! She then altered the dress to fit me PERFECTLY, making some changes to the dress itself that I had asked for. I am beyond excited to wear my beautiful dress on our big day!! Thank you so much, Sally!! You are amazing!! read more

I took my wedding dress to sally to have it hemmed, 6 bustles installed and sleeves added to my dress. she did an AMAZING JOB, not just her work ethics but her personality and thoughtfulness is amazing as well. She is such a sweet women and has such a family friendly welcoming environment. When we took my dress for the first time I was nervous because I had my toddler with me and she doesn't always listen well so I thought I was going to be stressed out trying my dress on and chasing her, however Sally had lots of toys there and welcomed her to explore with the toys so that I was stress free and was able to focus on my dress alterations. Sally was also extremely quick in getting my dress back to me, within about a week-week and a half timing. She's priced amazing for the amount of work she did. She also steamed my dress as a gift to us and that was extremely sweet of her. Thank you Sally for all your amazing work and hospitality every single time we went in! You're going to be in my thoughts. I'll update this post when I have a photo of my dress from the wedding read more
