I've trusted Gamila at Beautiful Alterations with my clothing for nearly eight years, and I honestly can't imagine going anywhere else. She's done everything from everyday alterations to creating custom garments for me, and every single piece has been flawless. Her craftsmanship, attention to detail, and ability to bring an idea to life are truly remarkable. What really speaks to her talent is that my sister located in NY works in the luxury designer apparel industry, where part of her job is evaluating and working with some of the best seamstresses around the world. She's incredibly selective and has exceptionally high standards. After seeing Gamila's work firsthand on a vintage garment I wore to the Versace runway show in 2022 my sister immediately recognized that my garment was customized and asked me who did my garment and complimented her skill and craftsmanship. That says everything. Gamila has an incredible eye for fit, construction, and detail. Whether it's a simple alteration or a custom piece, she treats every garment with the same level of care and precision. Her work looks seamless--as if it came that way from the original designer. If you're looking for the best seamstress in the Sacramento area, look no further. Her talent is unmatched, her prices are fair, and she genuinely cares about her clients. I recommend her without hesitation. read more

I was only partially happy with the alteration job I received. The ruffles on the chest of the dress were wavy, so I brought the dress in to have the shoulders lifted because it pulled the ruffles more taught and I am quite short. When I came back to try on, they were much better but still not great, as shown in the image. When I went to check out, I noticed a splotch on the shoulder of the dress on the sleeve. VERY small. When I asked her about it, she said it wasn't there before (which tells me that it happened in the shop, which it did). However she did not offer to dry clean it or try to get the stain out. Reasonably priced. I would only come back if I needed a simpler alteration, but not for another bridesmaid's dress. *update* due to my interaction with Alice, who reached out to see how she could make my experience better, I am updating my review from a 3-star to a 4-star. Thanks. read more

I had such a wonderful experience with Gamila from Beautiful Alterations! I drove from an hour away because she had a ton of great reviews and I am so glad that I trusted her with my wedding dress. She altered my wedding dress twice (once initially and again after I lost a little more weight) and both times she had a quick turnaround (3 weeks or less) and offered a great price for the quality of work. She took my dress in from a size 20 down to about a 12/14 and it fit like a glove! She also adjusted the length of my dress twice and added bustles. It was absolutely stunning on my wedding day. Brides, I highly recommend her if you want someone talented, reliable and detail oriented to bring your dream dress to life! read more

Gamila did an incredible job with last minute alterations to two dresses I needed for a wedding this weekend. She listened to what I wanted and made suggestions that I hadn't even considered. The quality of her work is commendable, and the rush fee was very reasonable. Although it is a long drive for me, I will absolutely use her services in the future, and highly recommend her. read more

Quick turnaround. Responsive. Affordable. I lost weight and needed to tighten the straps and shorten my bridesmaid dress, because it was too long and over-sized. The wedding was around the corner and I needed it altered ASAP. Gamila was able to get my bridesmaid dress altered within a week. It fits like a glove now and I can walk around without tripping on the dress. Would highly recommend her for all your alteration needs! Her prices are affordable. read more

I had been searching for several dress altercation stores and finally decided on Beautiful Alterations based on the reviews. And boy did it not disappoint! I needed a bridesmaid dress hem shortened several inches. The wedding was in a couple of weeks so I was hoping it wouldn't take too long to fix. I reached out to Beautiful Alterations and said to come in. Came in an tried on my dress for the owner. She easily marked where we wanted the dress shortened. She said it would take about a week to complete which was perfect for our timeline. She told me the cost of it and I was shocked. Most places were almost double her price! I paid and she told me what day and time to come in. Of note she only accepts cash or Zelle, which wasn't an issue. A week later I came back, tried on the dress, and it was perfect. The length was just what I wanted and you couldn't tell it was altered! The owner was so kind and sweet and I will definitely come back for more alterations. Thank you for Beautiful Alterations for great service!! read more

I drove from one hour away just to come to Mila because I trusted her with both of my wedding gowns. She allowed me to try them on and gave me her professional feedback on places to tighten, cut or to just leave along due to delicate lace stretching out. I don't have all of my photos back yet but with my lace dress she added another part to the neck portion to cover more of my neck and it was soo divine. I felt like a queen. With my Corset dress she tightened me up to make me snatched! I was very pleased with both of my dresses and with her timeliness, her kindness and with her prices... It is tough to find a business that can be 5 stars in every area but Mila and her business are a rare find. Thank you MILA! read more

I was quoted over $1000 for alterations at Miosa after purchasing my dress through them. My dress did have a lot of beading but I was hoping to spend a little less than that. I've been close to the textile industry for close to 50 years and have witnessed the decline of quality tailor's: they're hard to find, it's truly a dying art. I almost hate to leave a review as I want to keep Beautiful Alterations to myself but she truly deserves it!! Her work is quality, she's timely and reasonably priced. I'll be a customer for many years to come and would highly recommend her. read more

Honest communication, honest about what work needed to be done, fixed my sleeves on to the dress on the spot, kind and patient, good price

The prices and quality you can't beat. I wasn't thrilled with my dress originally and the seamstress did fix it (for an additional charge) and it was pretty perfect. I would def come back. read more

She is superb. I came in with two suits, on a Hart Schaffner New York fit, which was easier, the other a Brooks Brothers I was about to get married in! I ordered their BB's "Regent" fit, which is described as slim (I only wear Milano in their shirts) and it was too big everywhere in the jacket. Regent is not slim! Beautiful Alterations turned both those suits into exceptional fits. Sleeve width, body, even shoulders. I'm not simple: 42R with a (then, hah) 32/33 waist. A lot of lat taper. I think she shortened the distance between both sets of shoulders, which is not easy. They rock right now at a perfect 18in. Anyway, on time, my suits looked, and look, bespoke. I cannot speak highly enough of BA. Cash or Venmo, as I recall, but worth every cent. read more

Alterations were great! We had a few of the bridal party go here and she was able to get us all in tip top shape before the wedding!

Very nice owner and extremely great, quality work. I would recommend this place to anybody needing this service!

Reputation supersedes expectations! There's a reason why this business is one of the best on Yelp. My friend initially recommended Beautiful Alterations when we were looking for a shop that could alter our wedding dresses. I messaged them immediately and got a fast response (in fact, they're the ones who are more communicative). The owner updated me about their upcoming hours and told me when I could get my gown. She finished it before the expected time. Best of all, customer service is *chef's kiss!* Stop looking anywhere; the best alterations store is on Auburn Blvd, and the service is bang for your buck! I'll find ways to return to Mila to help me fit in my outfits properly and, ultimately, make me feel good regardless of body shape and size! read more

I brought in 2 pairs of pants. One needed to fix a factory hem that fell out and both I asked to have all the pockets cut out and sewn shut so I wouldn't have those unattractive lines anymore. She altered my wedding dress perfectly and for a fraction of the price that the boutique I bought my dress from. I needed the straps taken in, and more than 5inches of length taken off, and 3 bustle added. She promised it would be done in 3 weeks, but to my surprise she finished in 2 weeks. My wedding dress fit beautifully, and everything was absolutely perfect. read more

I work retail, and during the holidays especially my time is not my own. I work long hours with no set schedule. I used my one day off (Wednesday) to get a jacket tailored for the upcoming appointment (Monday). I called Beautiful Alterations to see if they could get jacket fitted in that time frame and they said it could be done by Saturday. That in itself was great service! Come Saturday I could not get off work within business hours. My appointment Monday was at 10:00, and so I planned to get to shop by 8:00 when they opened. I realized on Monday around 7:00 when I was getting address pulled up that they did not open until 10:00. I did something very entitled of me looking back, I called the number and asked if someone could meet me at shop early to get me the jacket and I would pay extra. The owners realized the urgency of the appointment I had and one of them came early to give me the jacket. I made a mistake and put them out, and they were incredibly generous to take time that they didn't have to to help me. This went above and beyond service. On a human level it was very very kind. I hope that they receive all the success in the world. Beautiful People for sure. read more

If you are looking for an affordable tailor who is honest about their work, then Beautiful Alterations is the place for you! Mila altered my wedding dress in addition to other dresses within a reasonable timeframe (1-2 weeks) and I had no issues scheduling a fitting on short notice. She did a quality job and everything fit perfectly after she worked on it. Mila is so warm and wonderful - my wedding dress experience didn't feel as magical as we typically see in TV, but she kept on complimenting me and telling me how beautiful I looked, which really boosted my confidence! Mila is now my go-to tailor! I am under 5 ft tall and usually need most of my clothes altered so I'll definitely be a regular here for the foreseeable future :) Thank you for the phenomenal service! read more

I was in desperate need of a bridesmaid dress alteration and Mila somehow worked her fairy godmother magic within a short 2-week turnaround. She transformed my long and oversized dress into a flattering and stunning gown. This was my first time getting a dress altered and Mila was very sweet and considerate throughout the entire process. You can't beat the price here. You'll get high quality work for half the cost of other places. I paid $85 to get the inseams taken in as well as the bottom of dress shortened for a two-layered dress. Other places quoted $100+ for just one service, which is insane! Highly recommend Mila and will be sure to come to her again for future alterations! read more

Gamilia is great at what she does, she's an extremely talent. I ordered a tux online for an upcoming wedding; and knew I'd have to get it tailored. Before Gamilia worked her magic, my tux looked like an oversized Halloween costume. Afterwards it was fitted to perfection, just the way I wanted it. Thanks Gamilia! read more

All I can say about this place is that she is FANTASTIC!!!! After loosing over 200lbs, I took my suits in to be altered from a 56 Long to 48 Long. Her work is beyond believable.
