Rodica and her daughter Ramona own & run this Alteration & Tailor business. Not a dry cleaner who does alterations--this is all they do for very reasonable prices. Most of the time I tip because I don't think they charge enough. I brought in a specially-made-for-motorcycling set of denim jeans for tailoring. The jeans are made of 14.5 oz. heavy weight denim, and parts of it were made with a Kevlar (Tm), ballistic fabric liner and corrugated rubber stretch panels above the knees and below the rear belt loops. I asked them to tailor and fit the pant legs close with a velcro pant leg seam at the calves so I could wear the pant legs inside my motorcycle boots like "denim jodhpurs or riding breeches." It took a few fittings, Ramona always patient, but the finished product is perfect, strong and handsome. The denim breeches fit like the motorcycle cops wear, only cooler for riding in the Summer. For what little they charged me, I tipped as well. Lindsay Gow, Anaheim, CA read more

I have been going to the Alteration Center for 3 years now. There used to be 2 women that worked there and they were amazing. They are no longer there. There is now 2 men that work there. They do amazing work, but I will never go there again after the treatment I received there. I took my daughters prom dress in a week before prom and promised it would be ready at noon on the day of. Great! When I went to pick it up at 2:30, there were several girls sitting in their dresses waiting to be helped and my daughters dress wasn't done yet! I thought he was kidding. He tells me to pick it up at 6. I told him that she had to be at dinner by 4. He basically said oh well and so I asked for the dress and he threw it at me and I asked if they had done anything to it and he says what difference does that make. He was yelling at me at this point, telling me he was busy and that he wasn't kidding and to take my dress. I was really taken aback. I have never been treated so rudely. They do really good work, and I believe the prices are fair, but when something that important and not to be done and to have it thrown at me and to be yelled at what do prices or workmanship matter! I was able to fix the dress so my daughter could wear it. And she looked amazing no thanks to the Alteration Center. I believe he took on more than he could handle. He lost a good customer by the way I was treated. read more

He said "don't ever ever come to my shop again because you are too difficult" The older man told me this because he messed up and made my pants very tight and I asked him to make it looser only once. I had smiles and told him to have a nice day but he said "wait, I want to say something before you go, don't ever ever come to my shop again because you are too difficult, go and look for a professional tailor!" He made my day so bad because of the rude comment he said before I left! Don't ever come here unless you want to be treated badly and have your clothes altered too tight!!!! read more

Horrible customer service. Work attire that needed altering was not ready on the date given. Owner showed no remorse and was very dismissive as he handed me my unfinished item and said Prom is the priority. Lost the business of my whole family and my friends. Very unfortunate. read more

I first came here based on a friend's recommendation. I had taken several pairs of pants to a shop that does $2.00 hems, and each pair of pants had problems! One leg was longer than the other, two had hems fall out, and the rest looked like no work had been done at all. I took my items back to that shop, and they told me they would charge me another $2.00 to fix their mistakes. So I took my business to the Alteration Center and had a great experience. You know the job will be done right with no issues. The people working there are incredible professional. The turn around time is always just a few days, and I'm sure it could be quicker if you were in a time crunch. In addition to my pant hems, I've had two dresses perfectly tailored. I highly recommend this place! read more

This place doesn't even deserve a single star. I came here with my mother to pick up and drop off, the latter we didn't end up doing. We came to pick up two items, but we were only given one, and when inquiring about the other dress, the owner was more than happy to give her the dress hanging next to the one she had gotten back. The other dress that belonged to her was nowhere to be found. THEY LOST HER DRESS. Clearly unhappy, my mother asked if she could look around for her dress, which he responded with, "ugh, people like this" to my face after she went to the back. He did nothing to offer her any help, and was frankly quite rude. We abandoned dropping off the two things we were going to get altered. We will never come back. read more

I would highly recommend this place for any and all of your alteration needs-there doesn't seem to be anything that they can't do. They are quick and detailed and the customer service is always fantastic. I truly appreciate having a local place to get such quality alerations compelted. It is also a great place to discard your unwanted wire hangers. read more

Best alteration place EVER! It's about 15 minutes from my residence (and we all know there are alteration places on every corner), but I am happy to drive here! Best prices, best service, and quickest turn-around times! I will forever be a loyal customer to Alteration Center, as long as I'm treated well in return :) read more

Brought an old dress of my mothers here to be taken in on me. The staff was polite and professional and the cost was decent. The work was well done, and they fixed an extra snag they noticed for free. Only 4 stars though because when I went in the afternoon to pick it up, they told me they needed another hour. I wasn't in a time crunch, so I didn't end up going back until the next day. Definitely bringing my next dress back! read more

My daughter and I came to see Anthony on a recommendation and he was great. He practically redid my daughter's wedding dress (he added lace sleeves, a corset back and hand sewed beading on the lace of sleeves to match rest of beading on dress). He also took in my mother of the bride dress and performed a miracle there as well. I recommend asking for ANTHONY when you go to the center. He was very patient and price was very reasonable for all he did. The price of recreating a different wedding dress was cheaper than the alteration price she paid for hemming and taking in the bridesmaid dress at place of purchase when she was in a wedding 3 months prior. I cannot say enough about Anthony. The turn around time is exactly as promised so no surprises. In reading some of the other recent reviews I'm glad the owner was not there when I was there. Anthony is very pleasant to work with. read more

I've been a client of Alteration Center for many years now. The staff is always friendly and provide timely service.

This is my first time visiting the Alteration Center so my review is based off of initial customer service as I have not received my alterations back yet. My initial impression is that they definitely know their stuff. They were very friendly and helpful and, though I had a lot of items to be altered, the turnaround is expected to be two days. So far I am very pleased with what I've seen! read more

I have been going to this alteration shop for years after it was recommended by a friend. They are fantastic! They always to an excellent job, have a great turnaround time, and great prices. They are also very friendly and welcoming. I usually get pants hemmed, but have taken larger items like a prom dress and more complicated pant alterations. They are the best! I don't live in town anymore but I still wait until I come back so that I can come here to get my clothes altered. read more

I've been going here for 20 years. I'm done. I brought in a dress to get altered. I didn't want it hemmed, since the bottom had decorative details. The waist was elastic & so I wanted it taken apart & shortened at the waist. The older man "helping" me didn't want to even hear what I was saying - he just rolled his eyes, heaved a huge sigh & ignored me. After being fitted, I went to the counter. I asked if it would be possible to have this the next day. His response? "Well, we are so busy with prom right now, but if I HAVE to." (Now, I'm not in high school, so prom isn't in my thoughts at all) I told him he didn't, but if he was able to, I'd appreciate it. He said, "No. You asked. So now I HAVE to!" I wanted to take my dress & just leave, but I chickened out. Plus, there were other customers there. I didn't want to make a scene. I was humiliated with the way he spoke to me. People don't deserve good business when they treat their customers as though their "bothering" them read more
