Best pricing I have found in OC for hems! As a short girl with short legs, I frequently need to get pants hemmed. Where I live in South OC, most places charge at least $15 per hem, which really adds up. This place did it for $4.50, or $9 for the wide legs. Well worth the drive! I dropped off seven pairs and it was less than $40. The only thing I would have liked they gave me more clarity about was to let me know when I called that wide legs would be more. But I think that is pretty standard practice, so I wasn't too mad. This place is kind of hard to find because it is so small. My navigation was telling me that I had arrived and I wasn't seeing it until I saw the small sign next to the dentist office. It was unclear on whether or not we could park in the small lot between this place and the apartment buildings, so to play it safe if I parked across the street by the supermarket, which I really enjoyed visiting after. We don't have a lot of Mexican supermarkets in South OC where I live, so it was fun to pick up some things from there and made the drive out more worth it as well. Turnover time was great as well. I can't comment on more difficult or involved jobs because I didn't use them for that, but I highly recommend coming here for hems. read more

Gave this place a try because of TikTok mentioning how affordable it is. This place isn't as affordable as I thought as I paid $40 for a gem and taking it in from the waist. I told them elastic bands on the waist only. She ended up giving me elastic band in the back, when I clearly said on the waist only. I asked them to adjust and she said that'd be an additional $20. Their lack of accountability is crazy. I will just go back to my old tailor lady who takes a few days longer. The staff at Simple to Perfect Studio measured the shirt sleeves and pinned the sleeves to their desired length. The studio staff was very attentive, polite, friendly and experienced. I brought in three pairs of jeans to have them shortened with the original hems reattached, along with two scarves that I wanted narrowed. For the scarves, I specifically asked that the new hem be sewn to match the existing hem exactly. I asked her this three separate times before leaving them with her, and each time she assured me she could do it. When I returned to pick everything up, the work was not what I had requested. Two of the three pairs of jeans were supposed to be tailored to the exact same length, but only one was. The other pair was left about half an inch longer despite my very specific instructions that they match. The third pair was also longer than I had requested. The scarves were even more disappointing. Instead of recreating the existing hem, she folded the fabric over much more than necessary and sewed a hem that was significantly thicker than the original. It looked completely different from the opposite side, despite my repeatedly emphasizing that I wanted the hems to match exactly. What bothered me most was not the mistakes themselves, but how she handled them. I asked her to shorten the longer pair of jeans by the additional half inch it should have been shortened in the first place so it would match the other pair. Rather than correcting her own mistake, she told me she would charge me again. Likewise, when I pointed out that the scarf hems did not match as promised, she refused to redo them without additional payment. She charged me $20 per pair of jeans for original hem reattachment. I now understand why her prices are lower than many other tailors--the workmanship reflects it. Everyone makes mistakes. What I cannot recommend is a business that promises it can perform a service, fails to deliver what was agreed upon, and then expects the customer to pay a second time to correct its own work. I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere to a tailor who stands behind their work and treats customers honestly. I also recommend paying by credit card rather than cash whenever possible so you have some protection if you encounter a similar situation. I believe she felt comfortable refusing to make things right because I had paid in cash. read more

What a sigh of relief to find this place! I was in need to alter an outfit for NYE couple days before. Found Simple to Perfect and decided to give it a shot. They were not only able to have it ready in time, but Karen also went over and beyond! My top had a flower which was attached, and fell out. Karen sewed the flower back on for me and also altered the top to have it fit better, and added a hook on the back to secure the hold. She explained that the flower had to be sewn in a way that I could still move around. It was simply perfect! I also took a pair of jeans I haven't been able to wear because they were too long. I dropped off the dress on a Monday and it was ready by Thursday. Super fast turnaround! The tailoring was perfect -- she hemmed it to just the right length and even tightened a loose button in the back. She was extremely nice and professional throughout the whole process, which made the experience even better, especially since this was my first time ever getting alterations done. This place is a gem! Was hard to find at first because it's a small shop located across from Autozone next to a dentist office. There is plenty of parking either next to the dental office or in front of auto zone (you'll just need to walk across the street). Fitting was quick. There is a separate room to change. I had 3 jeans that were too long for me that needed to be hemmed. There are two options: regular or original. The way I understood it was for the 'original', the bottom would be cut and brought up higher to my chosen length. This is good for people who have some sort of design on the bottom that they want to keep. For 'regular', the pants would be hemmed at the desired length but the bottom would be lost. 'Original' would be about $10. 'Regular' would be $4.50. I went with 'regular' for all three jeans and I also asked if she could fix a hole in one of my tops. That was $4. Total was $17.50 but it was rounded up to $18 because I was paying with card. You pay up front and pick up later. I dropped mine off on Sat. I received a text that it was ready for pick up by Monday. The text includes the unique number identifier you will need when picking up. Overall I am very happy with the results. My jeans fit nicely and I can't even see where the hole was in the sweater. For the purpose of the review, I did ask how much it would be or if any discounts would be applicable if I needed to get the same jeans fixed again. I was told there would be no discounts since the price is already very cheap compared to other tailors and I agree! I'm happy with the results anyways so I won't be bringing it back. Will definitely be back if I need more clothes to be tailored! read more

And they even special ordered material that would blend in better with the existing black denim material. It literally looks like it wasn't worked on. Her attention to detail on each pair was impressive, and I really appreciated the fact she offered to make any future adjustments free of charge (she nailed it the first time so I don't plan to take her up on this). I'm very disappointed because I had been a loyal customer of this business for over three years, bringing in pants and other clothing for alterations. Until now, I had always trusted their work and never had any concerns. Unfortunately, my most recent experience completely changed my opinion. There was a misunderstanding about the alterations I requested, and I was charged for work that I never asked to have done. When I explained the mistake and requested the alterations I originally wanted, I was charged a second time. I politely asked if the amount I had already paid for the unwanted work could be applied toward the correct alterations, but Karen refused. My recommendation to future customers is to carefully review both your receipt and the requested alterations before leaving the shop to ensure everything is accurate. As a long-time customer, I expected better customer service and a willingness to resolve an honest misunderstanding. Instead, I ended up paying twice because of a miscommunication that could have been handled much more fairly. Karen also charged me a credit card processing fee, even though the mistake originated from her misunderstanding of my request. Paying for quality work has never been an issue for me. What disappointed me most was the lack of accountability, the unwillingness to find a reasonable solution, and the feeling that retaining a loyal customer simply didn't matter. It's unfortunate to lose confidence in a business I had supported for so long. I came to Simple To Perfect Studio with some unique requests. My hubby and I have motorcycle gear/clothes that needed some intricate alterations/redesign. Karen was the one who helped us by listening to our requests and taking the time to measure and understand what we were trying to accomplish. Karen is friendly, personable and honest. She does not over promise and will be upfront of the limitations and caveats to the alterations. She spent time explaining to me of what to expect and checking in with me throughout the process if each part I was okay with. I trusted her and am glad I did! Her work is amazing and it came out better than I expected. My hubby was happy with his leather pants and I am happy with the two pieces I brought in. Because I wasn't very good at communicating the first time around and therefore, the redesign didn't fit quite well. Karen offered to redo my leather jacket to get it right. This goes to show that Simple to Perfect Studio stands by their work and will do everything they can to make your garment work. These three items were no easy feat. So, I feel that the price was very fair for the quality of work and the time it took for them to complete it. Another thing to note is that this place is open on the weekends! I ordered a ruffled maxi dress online in a larger size on purpose to fit one of my measurements but needed to have literally everywhere else taken in - waist, slit, length, the puffy sleeves, etc. Karen was very patient in hearing my request and turned around my dress in a week.
