The food was delicious, especially the sauces, and the ambiance and service was top notch! Cozy but not claustrophobic, works equally well for an intimate date, or a family birthday! Get any number of amazing dishes (I'm partial to the ravioli, and my wife loved the eggplant Parmesan), or split an incredible pizza. But the two true best parts in my opinion are the sauce (which applies to so many dishes), and the bread sticks! My wife and I moved out of Berkeley almost ten years ago now, and I hadn't been back to Lo Coco's since, but recently I went again with my parents. I was pleasantly unsurprised to see that it was still just the same high quality and friendly homey place I remembered, and the food was still so good! And the people I remembered were still there which spoke volumes to it being a great place, and again, not surprising since it's family owned. And with everything in the world getting so much more expensive, I was pleased to see that for the caliber of food they have, Lo Coco's was still very reasonable. Seriously, I can't recommend this place enough, especially if you like really good authentic Italian cuisine.

Despite it being a busy night, the noise level was surprisingly comfortable. Quiet enough to enjoy a conversation, but lively enough to create a great atmosphere. And off you want something a little less heavy, the grilled chicken sandwich was quite good too. The veggie red had so few toppings you wouldn't even know what the toppings were. The cheese started like 3 inches down from the edge of crust, and there was precious little of it. Even if you factor out the DoorDash fees, we're looking at something along the lines of $85 for two pizzas--way too much to pay to receive something like this. I want to support a mom and pop, and I don't like posting negative reviews, but at this price point we feel taken advantage of. We won't be ordering from them again.

The owner clearly cares for their craft, and it shows when you take a bite. The slices you can pickup there are truly a one slice meal. I'm a big dude, and came in hungry one day and got two slices. My eyes were way bigger than my stomach. Anyway, I was finally in the position to order a whole pie from Miles this past weekend. I was heartbroken to see the meatball pizza was gone, but sweet heat still hit the spot. The flavor combinations are well thought out and incredibly tasty. The price was reasonable for the quality, and to anyone who complains about having Ricotta on their pizza needs to be checked out. In fact, my only major critique was I paid for extra ricotta and felt there wasn't enough! This place is right up there with Pizzeria De Laura and Mama's Boy, which should be enough praise to get you to give it a try. And if it isn't, you still need to give it a try. Having a black-and-white tuxedo cat named Miles myself, I knew I had to stop in and try it. I went in for lunch, and the owner was super welcoming and walked me through the slices he had available. I decided to go with the specialty slice, and it was BOMB. The crust was perfectly crispy, the sauce was delicious, and the pesto, ricotta, and garlic tied everything together. The slice was also HUGE for what I paid -- definitely worth it. Really glad that tuxedo cat logo caught my eye. Great pizza, great service, and a cool neighborhood spot. I'll definitely be back!
