Pesto Chicken Pizza

Came back here for my pizza fix, and never disappoints. Service here is great. It was a decent crowd but still got seated right away. Servers came a couple times to check on us before we made our order. Didn't take long for the pizza to come. Ate about half of it and took the rest home.

Awesome place! Came in for a pizza craving while my wife had a girls lunch date! Food was great and the host and bartender were on point! It was lil slow before the World Cup match, but once it started it was good vibes all around ! Enjoyed the vibe and quality of the food! Definitely top tier deep dish pizza!

I've been to The Star on Park before, so when my wife and I were craving pizza, Little Star Pizza was an easy choice--especially since they have deep dish around and gluten-free options for her. We stopped in early on a Friday evening and were seated right away. The space has a great, casual vibe with plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor tables for nicer weather. Our server was friendly and checked in to see if we had any questions (we didn't), and we got drinks started right away--a local beer from Faction and a Black Basil cocktail. Both came out quickly and were solid. For food, I went with one of their signature pies--the All-Star deep dish. It's loaded with bacon, meatballs, sausage, pepperoni, and cheese... and it's massive. I always go for the 12" because it easily turns into 4-5 meals (no regrets there). My wife built her own gluten-free pizza with a thin crust and really enjoyed it. One thing I appreciated: even though deep dish takes longer to cook, both pizzas came out at the same time, which isn't always easy to do. They also offer a good variety of salads, starters, and sandwiches, which all sounded great--but I was here for the pizza. Overall, great service, excellent food, and a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a go-to spot for a casual pizza night.

I was visiting family out by Albany and was planning on getting sandwiches from Zara. Sadly Zara's closed after a car drive into the Delicatessen. I was in a mood for a sandwich and by brother-in-law suggested Little Star Pizza. He recommended the East Coast Sandwich (combination). My sister and brother-in-law ordered the East Coast Sandwich which they both loved. I ordered a Meatball sandwich which was pretty good. It tasted liked meatballs in a grilled garlic roll. The meatball is sliced so the sandwich is on the thin side. Overall, the nice gooey cheese, grilled garlic roll and meatball created a pretty good sandwich. They have a good menu with pizzas, sandwiches and salads. I plan to drop in again but will try the pizza and see if it is as good as the sandwiches. If you order take-out, you need to walk down the side of the building to the take-out sign and enter that door. The take-out counter is right inside the side door.

This review is for their Happy Hour. I have always loved their food. This gives me a reason to love it even more. From 3-5:30 M-F. Great deals on food and drinks. They don't skimp on sizes. I ordered way too much thinking I was going to get a tiny salad and appetizer . Nice personal size pizza for just $7. Loved it. Thanks Little Star!

While I was in this area location documenting Zachary's, my OG local guide, said I needed to include Little Star Pizza just down the street from Zachary's Solano location. Little Star is down near the bottom of Solano near San Pablo. Parking is the same limited street parking, though maybe a little better than parking at the top of Solano. I hear Little Star was started by former Zachary's people, so of stands to reason, the deep dish pizza are similar back when there were not many offerings in the East Bay. Inside is all modern and nice and bigger than Zachary's. We ordered the Classic, similar to the deep dish we had a Zachary's, so we could compare properly. All these deep dish pizzas take around 45 minutes, so if you plan ahead and order ahead, your wait won't be so long. The beautiful deep dish pizza came out and was served to each plate. Prices are similar to all the deep dish places. Little Star has another location on Oakland on Grand Ave. The taste experience was fantastic almost to the point where I'd be happy going to either Little Star here or Zachary's depending on the crowded situation. I like the crust either place. Service is good here so no issue there. I'd return to Little Star anytime!

It went like this........ I ordered/paid from my phone on the website then headed over since I was already in my car. Parked illegally in front. Walked to the pick up area. Guy was waiting at the register and said my pizza just came out. He offered me cheese and peppers in To Go containers and I was out in less then 5 minutes like a thief in the night and avoided getting a ticket. BOOYA Got the goods home, pizza was exactly hot enough to eat. What I learned..... They have parking behind the shop. Parking gets concerning on Solano, especially on a Friday at 7pm. The pick up area has it's own entrance/exit and it is closest to the back parking area. They have a enclosed heater to keep your pizza toasty until you pick it up. They use non GMO, high quality ingredients and avoid corn syrup. Using locally grown as much as possible. A friend once told me if you are going to indulge, make sure the indulgence has good ingredients. I rest my case

Not gimmicky but nice clean well run place with great ingredients. The staff here is always super friendly and it's very very popular around us to come here for your pizza. You get a fresh out of the oven. Or you can eat inside too, which has clean comfortable seating. They also have a wonderful little alleyway that has tables, chairs, umbrellas that you can sit outside on a beautiful day like today.

The place is nice and the service is good . The happy hour deal is also nice and has many options I got a margarita from the happy hour menu (7$) which was quite good - enjoyed it . I then decided to try out their Detroit style pizza (I think I took the classic) and switched pepperoni with feta cheese . The pizza looked great but...something was off w the dough . Some stale flavor which you typically have if they unfreeze dough vs making it from fresh . That kind of spoiled the entire taste for me . Will probably not come back

Little Star with pepperoni added. Oh and order the El Cubano!

Haven't been here in years since we escaped California. Stopped for a bite on our way to the airport and ordered our usual Little Star deep dish with pepperoni and roasted garlic. We ordered a small knowing we didn't want to have to pack our leftovers for the plane. Never happened to us before, but our pie seemed to be overcooked - perhaps because of the smaller size.

Little Star Pizza Restaurant is a Five Star Treasure on Solano Drive in Albany, CA. It is beautiful inside and the food is off the chart excellent. We drove from 3 different cities to meet up and eat here....Reno, San Pablo & Sacramento. It was truly the best pizza we have ever eaten. It was FIRE! Our group of 4 ordered a vinaigrette salad, 2 orders of dry rub chicken wings, we should have ordered 3... Homemade Ranch dressing and two large pizza's, Chicken BBQ Detroit style and the All Star Meat thin crust. Kiley, our server was fantastic and again, ALL THE FOOD, was INCREDIBLE!. If you get a chance to try out Little Star, I know you will be as impressed with the venue as well as the food & service. It was an all around Five Star Pizza Dining Experience and well worth our travels from 3 different cities. We will all meet back up again for another great pizza lunch at Little Star. See you there! Ask the Community - Little Star Pizza

Can I buy a bottle of the green goddess salad dressing?

I don't know. It's good dressing, isn't it? I was very disappointed when they changed the dressing on their Goddess salad a while ago. Give them a call and see if they sell the dressing by the bottle.

Where can I find details about their happy hour?

Our happy hour menu is on the website at https://www.littlestarsolano.com/pdf-menu

I'm looking for a pizza that has a good crust does this pizza have a good crust?

I've only had the deep dish and the crust is crunchy and flavorful.

Some reviews mention vegan options. Do you offer vegan cheese?

Yes. We offer Follow Your Heart vegan cheese.

So as good as always but something seems different, is the association with The Star in Oakland new?

With the bay area temps running high i was in no mood to cook. I also wasn't overly hungry. Driving southbound on San Pablo Avenue, I decided to make a u-turn at Central Ave and go back to Dolly's. It had been a minute since I was last there. When I walked in I was surprised to find no patrons seated. My previous experiences here led me to believe Dolly's should be busy on an early Saturday evening. It wasn't. I decided to start with the beet salad. It was a 10/10 and probably made my top 2 beet salads of all time. If you know me and my obsession with beets, that's a pretty hefty, but well-deserved rating. I also ordered the (4) meatballs and a side of bread. All great! Dolly's serves delicious food. Once those were finished, i kept it going with dessert. What could I possibly order next? Their imported and world-famous mango panna cotta!! It is smooth, silky, creamy!! I really enjoy Dolly's. The staff is courteous, kind, and friendly. Dolly? I promise I will be back. When my wife and I were dating, that was our main date place of choice, and we went countless times. And throughout it all everything was always amazing. The food was delicious, especially the sauces, and the ambiance and service was top notch! Cozy but not claustrophobic, works equally well for an intimate date, or a family birthday! Get any number of amazing dishes (I'm partial to the ravioli, and my wife loved the eggplant Parmesan), or split an incredible pizza. But the two true best parts in my opinion are the sauce (which applies to so many dishes), and the bread sticks! My wife and I moved out of Berkeley almost ten years ago now, and I hadn't been back to Lo Coco's since, but recently I went again with my parents. I was pleasantly unsurprised to see that it was still just the same high quality and friendly homey place I remembered, and the food was still so good! And the people I remembered were still there which spoke volumes to it being a great place, and again, not surprising since it's family owned. And with everything in the world getting so much more expensive, I was pleased to see that for the caliber of food they have, Lo Coco's was still very reasonable. Located in the heart of Berkeley's trendy North Shattuck business area that covers most of the northern part of the busy thoroughfare of Shattuck Avenue, Via Del Corso comes from owner Peter Chastain, a local restaurateur who made sure to save a longtime favorite local restaurant that was known as Corso, in a prine dining destination. Chastain did so by assembling an amazing team that guaranteed authentic cuisine that could be found not in just one but throughout many regions in Italy, much in part thanks to Chef de cuisine Massimo Orlando, who brings his heritage from northern Italy into all of their dishes. What brought me and two other diners here on a busy Saturday evening was the buzz that has been constant ever since they opened Via Del Corso in the summer of 2021 and we wanted to see what it was all about. Reservations on the OpenTable even a mere two days out were actually easy to make, as we arrived a few minutes late and they were still gracious enough to take our party and seat us with a view of their open kitchen, where no fewer than five chefs were cooking up a storm all evening long. The dinner menu at Via Del Corso is separated into categories including Spuntini, which are little bites; Antipasti e Insalate, which are their Appetizers and Salads; Primi Piatti or first course dishes; Piatto del Giorno or Dish of the Day; Secondi Piatti or second course dishes; Contorni or sides; and Dolchi or desserts. To start our meal we decided to order their Insalata di Polpo, which was their poached octopus served with Yukon gold potatoes, Gaeta olives, celery, sweet onions, and topped with lemon and extra virgin olive oil. Served with the perfect amount of umami and flair this starting dish was the perfect starting dish and made us eager for more of what Via Del Corso had to offer. As for the second course in our meal, we knew we wanted to share in their deliciously handcrafted pasta entrées, and it was recommended by our server Mike to order their signature pasta entrée, their Ravioli con Spungnole e Fave, which were their fresh pasta raviolis filled with sheep's milk ricotta, served with fresh morel mushrooms, fava beans and topped with Parmigiano cheese; and then we ordered a half portion of their Tagliatelle al Ragu which is their fresh egg pasta topped with Emilian meat sauce and Parmigiano Reggiano. For our main courses, we decided to split two entrées, their Petto d'Anatra con Ciliegie e Balsamico, which was their seared duck breast topped with their balsamico condimento, blistered cherries, and sautéed spinach; and their Bistecca di Manzo alla Griglia which is their Grilled Prime New York Steak served with rucola, lemon, and shaved Parmigiano. We also opted to have it served with Lardo which was a film of buttery garlic and cost an additional four dollars. The pastas would be presented to our table first and they were two of the most lovingly crafted pasta dishes we have enjoyed in some time. The real star recommended their ravioli as the were a meal unto itself with beautiful triangle shaped pouches filled with fresh cheese topped with unique mushrooms combined with an unbelievably tasty sauce. At 60 dollars our Bistecca was a wonderfully composed dish that was served with an elegantly composed arugula side dish and would have been a wonderful solo entrée to enjoy. The seared duck was a nice heavy dish that I most likely would not order a second time, as we saw the halibut being a nicely composed dish from a table far away, and nothing but good things about their signature pork chop. With a total bill of $194 for five dishes, a return visit would be a must to Via Del Corso, as we found this restaurant lively, in a good way, the service attentive, and most importantly the food prepared in a way that would make us come back for many more return visits. A neighborhood gem that everyone can enjoy!

A Last-Minute Yelp Find That Delivered! Heading home from…read moreSan Francisco, we decided to stop for pasta. A last minute Yelp search led us to Creekwood in Berkeley, and luckily, I was able to secure a reservation inside. What a great find! Creekwood is in a residential neighborhood, which I love, although parking can definitely be a challenge. The exterior is architecturally pleasing, with clean lines and a fresh, modern look. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess with a huge welcome and an equally huge smile. The restaurant has a cozy bar area, outside seating, and an estimated seating capacity of 50 guests. Inside, there is a combination of banquettes and tables that can be configured to accommodate different party sizes. The interior was extremely clean, visually appealing, comfortable and inviting. The bathroom was also extremely clean. Our server Malia was personable and offered great suggestions, as did several other staff members. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly and welcoming. We started with the corn chowder and burrata. The chowder arrived a little under-temperature for my liking, but the flavor was excellent. The burrata was plentiful, paired with tomatoes that were absolutely bursting with flavor. The burrata and tomatoes complemented each other beautifully, and there was just the right amount of dressing. My tablemate ordered the Margherita pizza, which arrived at the perfect temperature. Thin crust, fresh basil and great flavor it was exactly what a Margherita pizza should be. I was craving a meat based pasta with red sauce, but that wasn't on the menu. So I ordered the pappardelle with mushrooms and asked if they could prepare it with a red sauce. They were happy to accommodate me. It arrived at the perfect temperature, with beautifully cooked pasta and an orchestra of flavors. The depth and texture of the mushrooms gave me the satisfying, meaty texture I was craving. I would absolutely order this dish again! One of the highlights of our visit was meeting Greg, the owner, who was circulating throughout the restaurant and talking with his guests. We were first-timers, but clearly, many of his diners were what I like to call "repeat offenders." in the best way. Greg shared some of the history of Creekwood and explained that his goal was to create a true neighborhood restaurant and gathering place. I would say he has definitely accomplished that. He also mentioned that he is considering adding a happy hour, which would be a wonderful addition. They do have Coctails, beer and wine although I did not partake this time. Greg told us about one couple who has visited for brunch more than 149 times! Now THAT is a referral! If I lived in the neighborhood, I have no doubt I would become a repeat offender myself. Sometimes the best restaurant discoveries are the ones you make at the last minute. Creekwood was definitely a successful Yelp selection, and one I'm happy to recommend. Bravo Greg, Chef and Creekwood Family well done and we shall see you soon. GIve Creekwood a try you won't be disappointed.

Ravioli di Aragosta 5outta5 Delicious. Italian cuisine is starting to grow on me more & more. Biancoverde is a must try! #GoTaste&See

Overall, the food is decent. Service can be slow I guess during lunch hours. Nice ambiance and they have live music in the evenings. Nothing to really write home about, I just really was disappointed in the inability to pick up timely...
