Nice atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and it's interesting to watch people play pool and also to listen to some local music.

Bartenders are friendly and drinks are great. The place is plastered with posters of upcoming events. The interior is classic dive bar with red lights, beer signs, circle booths, wooden bar and jukebox. I love being able to slide into a booth and watch everyone else stroll in to the bar. I try to support the occasional pop-up food booth outside to keep them coming back.

We've celebrated birthdays, holidays, and taken new friends and old here. The perfect meet up, place for one/done or sit and stay a while. Good value, great Little Hill Mai Thai. During the holidays they have one of the best hot buttered rums I've ever had. Most recently, we've enjoyed their live karaoke (you get to perform with a live band) which makes for a pretty epic experience, the addition of local bands performing in the back of the bar, and the pop up Double Barrel BBQ with the amazing Lorenzo cookin' it up (yes to the smash burger, grilled cheese, and chocolate chip dipped cookie). Dimmed lighting, curtained photo booth, booth/bar stool seating..simply the best. Recently popped in and noticed new napkins with their logo and pretty menus with new creative cocktails/fun, localish names. Looking forward to the future of this bar, rock on!

Dive Bar somehow pulls off the impossible: it's a neighborhood hangout, a tourist attraction, a…read moredance floor, and a people-watching safari all at once. If you've read some of the one-star reviews, you'll notice a recurring theme: people are deeply offended that a bar contains loud music, dancing, crowds, and occasionally someone who has enjoyed the concept of "happy hour" a little too enthusiastically. That's a bit like giving the ocean one star because it's wet. What really makes Dive Bar special is the staff. After spending enough time there, I've gotten to know almost everyone by name--including the security crew. They are exactly what great security should be: friendly, welcoming, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure everyone has a good time. And when someone decides the evening should revolve around them instead of the other hundred people trying to enjoy themselves, they handle it firmly, calmly, and without drama. Keeping a place fun sometimes means escorting an asshole to the exit, and they do it with remarkable professionalism. The bartenders keep things moving even when it's packed. The servers somehow manage to stay upbeat in the middle of controlled chaos. Everyone seems to understand that hospitality isn't just about serving drinks--it's about creating an atmosphere where strangers can relax, laugh, dance, and forget the outside world for a while. Dive Bar also captures something uniquely Sacramento. It's a little weird, a little flashy, wonderfully unpretentious, and right in the heart of K Street. You never know who you'll meet or what conversation you'll stumble into. College students, professionals, tourists, retirees, regulars--everyone mixes together because everyone is there for the same reason: to have fun. If you're looking for a quiet library, this isn't it. If you're looking for one of the liveliest places in Sacramento to dance, be silly, celebrate life, and remember that adults are allowed to have fun, Dive Bar absolutely delivers.

For a lesbian couple small town bars are not always the most welcoming places. We showed up around midnight, after a movie. There were about 6 other patrons. I headed for the ladies room. Some guy at the bar was like," hey that's the ladies room!" I stuck my head out the door and said," I know, thanks." When I came out he apologized for his mistake, bought me a shot and the rest is history. Every night at Ed's we always meet interesting people. What makes Ed's stand out isn't just the drinks--it's the people. The crowd is incredibly diverse, and there's this genuine sense of community that you don't find everywhere. Folks from all walks of life come together here, and the unspoken rule is simple: be kind and respectful. If you do that, you'll feel right at home. It's rare to find a place that feels this welcoming, inclusive, and authentic. Ed's isn't just a bar--it's an experience and a community. Can't recommend it enough.
