First time trying Alpaca. I ordered the Arroz Chaufa. It was good but if you are looking a dish with a lot of meat you may want to try something different, however, I personally enjoyed the dish. For two dinners and one drink it was around $35.00. The atmosphere is casual but if you are cold natured, remember to bring a sweater or long sleeve shirt. Someone at my gym told me this place was a must try & IT IS!! Ughh I'm such a sucker for good food! I could eat this bowl EVERYDAY! Ordered the lomo saltado which was good. But the yellow sauce was basically mayonnaise that is yellow. Disappointing. Green sauce was better but definitely need to work on the ingredients to both for sauces to be more authentically Peruvian. Also I noticed the menu offers beans and tortilla. Peru doesn't have tortillas and beans isn't a staple at all let alone the ones offered here. People are already ignorant on the different Latin American countries so this doesn't help especially since it doesn't say Mexican and Peruvian restaurant. Let's not propagate the ignorance. First time as a Peruvian I see this food availability at a restaurant saying it's only Peruvian. They didn't receive three stars because well it's a Peruvian restaurant and the lomo was good so I gave it four stars. read more

My sister suggested we dine in this spot since she had been to another location in North Carolina. Alpaca Peruvian Charcoal Chicken offers quite a few dishes. I went for the 1/4 dark meat chicken with two sides. The two sides I chose were the rice and beans and the maduros. The chicken was nice and moist. It was seasoned well and can be paired with their green or yellow sauces. The yellow sauce is very mild where as the green sauce is on the spicy side. It has a good amount of heat but not enough to be grabbing a drink. The rice must be made with a broth since it had some flavor even on its own. With the beans it was a great combo. The maduros had just enough sweetness. The chi cha morada (purple corn drink) was delicious. It is mixed with some spices to give it a mulled drink feel. The employees were all very nice. I liked that the facility had both high chairs and booster chairs. The booster chair was used for my daughter was very clean. Wish there were locations outside of North Carolina, but I guess we will have to come back whenever we are visiting the state. read more

As someone that enjoys Alpaca - I came with high hopes and didn't leave disappointed! The food was fresh and hot. The restaurant was clean and the service was excellent. Being that we are used to the restaurant we had a pretty good understanding of the menu and pricing. I would say for this location - you get a good amount of food for the cost. MEH!! This restaurant has a lot of potential. The first time we visited it was really good food, however the staff is lacking in service and the condiment sauce was empty and the area was dirty. The food was good and it was hot. The second time it was ok but, not like before. The service was fair but food was not hot and not as tasty, still out of sauces and still a filthy area. The finale time we went the staff was goofing off and playing around, food was cold. My wife ordered the potato's ,,they had to cook them and said they would bring them out! Well, they never did and I had to go back to the line to get her item. Oops, sorry we forgot. The food was cold and same issue with sauce bar. I am not going back, as I see this place slowly going down. Rating could be a 2.5. I gave them some benefit. Like I said, great potential but poorly run. read more
