Y'all, we are SICK of Sysco/US Foods restaurants with powdered eggs, rehydrated taters, onions,…read moregravy (?!) and frozen/chef mike picking up the slack for what could be done in literally a cast Iron Skillet. Rather than going to the local places, including golden trough, shcmenny's, no-iron-nor-skillet, we ventured to this little greasy spoon and dare I say, it's legit but is NOT greasy?! Apologies, I was too hungry to get a pic of the menu but I can assure you it is solid. Walk in, order from the menu board overhead the cashier then seat yourself. Salad bar (not pictured) was well loved. We ordered two home style plates with coffee and a side of gravy for each and came in just under $35 with tip. COFFEE was great. Not a fan of the fact they didn't have real whole milk or cold half and half available but not once did any of the staff NOT ask if we needed topped off or more coffee. The sausage patties were solid. They had a bit of a hamburger taste to them so there could be some flat top cleaning that is in order. Eggs were real eggs. The biscuit I wouldn't write home about and the gravy was clearly a powdered mix that had been churched up with the aforementioned hamburger and sausage grease, hit with some pepper and slapped in a 4 oz bowl. Made for a good condiment. Speaking of condiments, everything was clean to the touch. Table, sugar packet holder, napkin dispenser, salt & pepper, the tables, the chairs. The restaurant itself did not throw off "truck stop" vibes although the scenery from the crystal clear windows was the only reminder we were, indeed, at a truck stop. I asked for hot sauce, they only had Texas Pete. YMMV on that and it's OK. Everything else I asked for was spot on fantastic. If they had a breakfast buffet with this caliber of food available, this would be THE place to stop on I95 in NC and attract the locals, too. It beats any breakfast I've had in ENC by a country mile. Kickin myself for not trying this place before. Biscuits are meh and not a fan of tipping at POS when ordering before even being served. Will order hashbrowns with onions next time and only one side of gravy because it's not REAL gravy but does make for a nice meal. And yes, there will be a next time.

I understand as if you aren't seated when they open, you can expect a 90-minute to two-hour wait. I was hoping to get the Chicken Pot Pie this time and thought my prior visit was just off. I was thrilled that most of the menu was available. They were just out of the banana pudding. So I got to try the pecan wings I read about with the white sauce. It was so good. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. Service was friendly and as soon as I finished my iced tea, another appeared. My wings were brought out first and it was a while for the rest of the meal as the restaurant was full. But they didn't rush me at all. I actually liked the space between the dishes, as I might not have been able to eat it all otherwise. I couldn't finish both biscuits and was even provided a container for the honey. I am going to miss Beasley's, but I'm glad I got a positive experience to remember the restaurant.

On Wednesday's they were doing all gluten-free menu and it was amazing...no crazy unreasonable upcharges, just honest menu pricing and great food. As of this review they are the #2 most reviewed place in Raleigh only behind the Pit. When we went last week for a farewell dinner it took us 3 weeks to get in. We got turned away 2 other times. The place was always packed and busy yet cozy and calm with great service. Hopefully they relocate or put some of the items from the menu at Pooles. Fuquay could use a nice place like this and it would be way cheaper than Raleigh! Best of luck to the staff in the future as they all look for work.

She didn't say is there anything I can get you or anything the entire time. He put his pymt with the ticket and put it on the edge of the table, I hadn't been in a while so I forgot we would pay on the way out. She was cleaning the floor near us and slid our ticket/pymt farther on our table, as if it was in her way, again he's confused so he said this is ready and she let him know to pay up front. I have never experienced such a nasty waitress at this restaurant and because of this I probably will never go back. I don't like not feeling comfortable and welcomed in a place where my money and time is going into. I started to complain before I left but in reality I don't think it would have mattered, and we left a tip not as much as we would have if she was more pleasant. I don't know whether she was having a bad day, a long day or to take it personal but I can't deal with attitude like that and won't take a chance on it again. This man drove a hour to experience this was just unbelievable!!!!
