Highly Recommend Sharks & Shooters! As new residents of…read moreRocky Mount, we were looking for a place where we could relax, meet people, and feel welcome. At first glance, you would never guess Sharks & Shooters is a bar--it looks more like a local legion or community gathering spot. But don't let appearances fool you! After trying a few other bars in the area, Sharks & Shooters quickly became our go-to spot. The biggest reason is the amazing atmosphere. From the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted with a warm welcome from Jess, Jen, Ang, and of course Quinn, depending on who's working. They are all fantastic, attentive, and genuinely make you feel like you're at home rather than just another customer. What really sets this place apart is not only the staff but also the people who come in. As newcomers to Rocky Mount, we weren't sure what to expect, but the regulars and locals have been incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's rare to find a place where both the staff and customers make you feel like part of the community from day one. One experience that truly shows how much they care was when we were having trouble getting an Uber home because the driver couldn't find where we lived (yes, lol!). Instead of just wishing us luck, the Sharks & Shooters team went above and beyond to make sure we got home safely. They helped us find a driver, Nick, who was absolutely fantastic. That level of kindness and customer care is hard to find these days and says a lot about the people who work there. If you're looking for a laid-back atmosphere, great service, friendly faces, and a place where everyone feels like family, Sharks & Shooters is the place to be. We're so glad we found it and look forward to many more visits. Thank you to Jess, Jen, Ang, Quinn, Nick, and everyone at Sharks & Shooters for making Rocky Mount feel a little more like home.

As a kid not thinking about bars I would pass this place and thought it was an indoor gun range. As an adult when I was back home a year or so ago, I was invited to meet up here and perplexed until I learned it was bar. Most recently I was home for the Thanksgiving holiday and after a few plates and family bonding, you want to hit a bar (I know it's not just me). Two or three other places weren't open so my friends and I settled on this place around midnight. I like that there's 2 separate areas with different playlists going on in each environment. You've got the bar and billiards hall up front for a bit of louder recreation. Then you also have the bar with the more lounge environment in the back room to relax and chat with your people over cheaply priced beers or cocktails (nice selection of non-bottom shelf liquors. The bartenders in the back are always pretty cool too. They enjoy being apart of the conversation which makes the atmosphere inviting. All in all it's a good spot. I see why they've been around for so long.

You can usually seat yourself, and the staff greets you promptly. They offer a full bar, house-brewed tea, rotating desserts, lunch and dinner options, and TVs with closed captioning so you can catch a game or trivia. Their seafood selection is excellent, with oysters and other items served fried, steamed, blackened, grilled, and more. They list the origin of their shrimp, clams, and oysters on the wall, and the chalkboard specials change depending on where the oysters were sourced that day. The "Greggah" lobster roll was perfection--a generous portion of chilled lobster in their signature sauce on a top-cut, buttery soft bun. The slaw served with it was creamy, cold, fresh, slightly sweet, and had the right tang. The sausage and potatoes side was one of the best staples from this restaurant group. A later snack of fried clam strips and fried oysters showed the same quality. Everything was freshly breaded, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. It came with hush puppies, coleslaw, and a house-made tartar sauce that was spot-on. Another visit included a house salad with homemade ranch and the double-decker crab cake sandwich--two fresh, in-house-made crab cakes stacked together with coleslaw on the side. It was outstanding. Consistently fresh seafood, friendly service, clean atmosphere, and reliable quality make this Shuckin' Shack location a solid choice whether you're in town briefly or a regular local.

I had steam shrimp, Mac and cheese, corn, and slaw. The shrimp had the shell on them. Some of the shrimp were not deveined. The old bay seasoning was just dump on the outside of the shell. None of the shrimp were seasoned throughout. The corn was dry. The Mac and cheese were decent. The teas were so sweet I had to ask for water to dilute the tea. The others is my dinner party had similar grievances. The overall consensus of the group I was with was that we're not returning. I do not recommend for food however if you want a place for drinks, I think this place could satisfy that desire.
