Augustus Grill has blossomed into a first-rate restaurant that offers a wide variety of menu…read moreoptions at very reasonable prices. The indoor seating is limited - but comfortable. The spacious Deck is one of the best dining venues within miles. It's peaceful, scenic, bucolic and relaxing. Service is friendly and the dishes we have tried were well-prepared, innovative and delicious. The Grilled Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce ($21 with two sides) was as good as any I have had. The thick loin was pleasantly crunchy with a quick burst of tangy flavor. The inside was juicy, flaky and tender. The Roasted Mixed Vegetables were slightly undercooked, allowing the flavors of the Carrots, Cauliflower and Broccoli to stand out. The Potato Salad was OK, but I would have preferred something more zippy and zesty. The Chicken Salad Sandwich ($8.49 with one side) was smooth and creamy. The Toasted Multigrain Bread and Lemon Vinaigrette Dressing transformed this basic stand-by into something special. The Pasta Salad was a real winner. Unlike most bland pasta salads I have had, this one was nicely seasoned and brimming with flavor. We finished the evening with a generous slice of Cheesecake ($6) with a sweet but tangy Raspberry Jalapeño Sauce. Lunch with a grandson on the deck was a lot of fun for everybody. He had the Kids Meal ($6) which included a Hot Dog (he wanted it plain, of course), Bottle of Gatorade and Chips. We enjoyed the Pastrami Burger ($16.49 - with thin-sliced seared Pastrami, Cheddar Cheese, sliced Onion and Thousand Island Dressing) and the Hawaiian Burger ($14.49 - with grilled Pineapple, BBQ Sauce and Cheddar Cheese). The 1/3 pound burgers were served on a fresh Brioche Bun and included One Side. We can recommend either burger, but the one with Pastrami, was truly outstanding.

The food was great and made fresh. Service was amazing, Randi almost seemed to know what we wanted…read morebefore asking. And the view over over the golf course is stunning, especially at sunset.

Very average lunch - I wouldn't order my Swiss burger again, I would try something else…read more The young lady who took our order was very sweet. Very casual atmosphere, a lot of regulars here. Tight parking spaces and not many.

Finger-licking Good…read more This is a plain, no-frills, old-fashioned eatery serving up good, simple, home-cooked food with a smile in an old-west setting. The only concession made to frilly decor is the artificial yellow Marigold that crowns the paper towel holders on each table. The menu includes: Burgers and Sandwiches, Soups and Salads, Appetizers and Speciality Plates. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. Be sure to check out the Daily Lunch Specials. The only thing missing is a cold beer. The Thursday Special, 1/2 Pound Riblets, is exceptionally good. While the meat does not exactly fall off the bone and takes a little work, there is plenty of it and it's surprisingly tender. The BBQ sauce is a nice balance of sweet, heat and spice. The hand cut Fries are best when smothered in the self-serve Cheesy Sauce. Another special, Chop Steak with Onions & Peppers is another winner. It's more like a cube steak than a hamburger steak and has a distinct chargrill flavor. Remington's Cole Slaw is some of the best I have tried. The cabbage is fine-diced with a hint of sweetness and refreshingly crisp. The BBQ Plate is OK, but not the reason I go to Remingtons. The pulled pig is rather bland and lacks that unique Eastern NC BBQ tang. We particularly like the Geronimo Burger. This double patty monster weighs in at a substantial 1/2 pound with just the right amount of zesty Chili and sweet Cole Slaw. All burgers come on a large, soft but chewy, slightly sweet bun. The Buffalo Wings were meaty and tender enough, but the Teriyaki Glaze just didn't taste right (next visit I'll try the BBQ). I did like the BBQ Beans - slightly sweet and slightly tangy - a nice combination. Be sure to ask for the 10% Senior Citizen's or Veteran's Discount.

Great Wings and More…read more Mad Flavorz is hard to describe. First and foremost, it's a wing shop - a very good wing shop. The wings are big, chunky, meaty, tender and smothered in a variety of unusual (and unusually tasty) Flavorz. I highly recommend the bone-in Mad Flavorz Bourbon Wings - a lot of flavor with a balance of sweet, heat and tang. I'm running out of adjectives, so I will simply say that these are some of the best Wings I ever ate. As the name would imply, it's also a Lounge with a full service bar, relaxed atmosphere super friendly service and extensive list of beers. It doesn't get much better than a pile of world-class wings and an ice cold Red Stripe. We were impressed with the diversity of the menu - everything from Burgers and Hoagies to Salads and Seafood. The Coconut Shrimp was institutional but delicious. The Specialty Sides are as good as the Wings.. The French Toast & Chicken Tenders Plate was a mixed bag. The Toast was disappointing (not restaurant quality), but the three good-sized Chicken Tenders were nicely done - crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The Fish Whopper Sandwich lived up to its name. The very large filet was golden brown, crispy and served on a fresh soft bun. Add a side of perfectly fried Okra and you have a satisfying meal. The Jamaican Beef Patty - much like an oversized empanada - had a nice crispy shell filled with flavorful minced beef. It was extra tasty with a little of the Cajun Jamaican Jerk Sauce. My biggest issue with Mad Flavorz is that they are often out of several menu items and beers (Lobster Pops, Banana Pudding, Cheesecake, Red Stripe, Modello to mention a few). I hope this is a temporary situation. Having said that, I still very much enjoy eating at this somewhat quirky eatery.

Best wings around! Always go extra crispy if you like em like that. Def recommend it!read more
