Delicious! Love the jerk chicken and the sauce (that comes on the side) is fire! This trip was to introduce a few folks new to the area and lunch was an awesome way to do it. This location has a wonder lunch special Monday - Friday from 11-2:30pm. The curry chicken, oxtails and beef patties all are tasty A must try when in Raleigh. Plenty of parking and the customer service is good.

Dat gyal and I were craving some Caribbean food, and finding good, authentic Jamaican cuisine in this area can be challenging. However, I must say, the food here exceeded our expectations. The chicken was tender and flavorful, though I felt it could have used a bit more jerk seasoning. The mac and cheese paired perfectly with the rice. My friend had the oxtail and loved it at first bite, but she found the meat tougher as she continued eating. One highlight was the beef patty we shared on the way home--we were both disappointed we only got one because it was so delicious."

Ordered via uber eats the jerk and curry chicken sampler with sides of plantain and macaroni and cheese. Beyond delicious. Fast service. Hefty portion.

So this is a "Large" brown Stew Chicken. I'll start with the portions. There was very little chicken on the plate. I have been to MANY Jamaican restaurants. On a "Large" plate, there is plenty enough for 2 or more meals. I was clearly able to eat this in one setting. The food also lacked flavor. I had to add salt 3X while eating. I also added some jerk sauce to the chicken. Definitely another first for Jamaican food. Overall, I could have cooked better food at home. I will not be going back

So glad this is part of my community. Jamaican Grille ox tail can't be beat. I have never found a 100% health rate but they do nothing half ass. Congrats to being a pilar of Jamaican cuisine.

Good beef patties. Oxtail was tasty but could have been more tender and benefit from adding a broad bean. Nice service.

Ask the Community - Jamaican Grille

Do they have any vegan or vegetarian options?

The sides are beans and rice and cabbage with carrots in it. I think they have fish too if you are one that incorporates that in your vegetarian diet sometimes. Not sure of 100% vegan.

We made the trek from the north side of town over and it was worth it. The place is immaculately clean and the menu is an extensive list of cuisine from all over the world. From Jamaica to Ghana and place in between. I know this could be a difficult balance to strike, but it was done well. I ordered the oxtails with rice and peace and plantains. The order was a nice size but I do feel the oxtails portion could have been bigger. Lots of sauce but not a lot of meat. The seasoning on it was very well done. Spicy but not too spicy. Well balanced. I enjoyed it along with my well portioned sides. The person with me got jollof rice and chicken. They said the rice was good and the grilled onion on top of the chicken was perfect. The chicken wasn't to their personal taste but looked well portioned and prepared. They also had a variety of bottled drinks to choose from like mango and hibiscus drinks. I would go back.

The meat really did taste as if it was refried or the grease was old. Definitely wasn't fresh. The macaroni and cheese was just noodles and cheese, no flavor. The yams were stringy. The turkey collards were the only thing I enjoyed. The "cake" was honestly a mini portion of a store bought pound cake. I felt totally ripped off when I could've dinned in elsewhere for a completely different experience for $30. The staff was very nonchalant when I introduced myself as a first time customer asking for suggestions. There aren't many designated soul food places in Raleigh and I feel like this is totally a missed opportunity and it's unfortunate because I drove almost 30 min each way just for them.
