I returned to dine at this location before its closing date scheduled for April 2026. The food was not hot, and there were 1-2 thin butterfly coconut shrimp in each taco. The jerk shrimp were very small, and the sauce was watery. The mango slush was delicious, but the Bahamarita drink was not sweet, and the alcohol had a bland taste. I did not enjoy the meal. On the other hand, service was great. The music was above as usual. I will miss this Caribbean, reggae-style restaurant. The jerk wings will definitely be missed. read more

While she's not what she once was, she's still a great option. Opted for Bahama Breeze for lunch plans. We originally were sat in a booth across from the bar, we requested another location (we were sat near the bar, but not directly across from the bar) and informed there were limited servers. This may explain why other Yelp reviews lamented service. I don't frequently order drinks, but I love Bahama Breeze's drinks. I ordered Mojito Cubano (my standard), and others Cloud 9. The drinks were "fine", but not up to the standard I've come to know and love from BB. Perhaps an off night, perhaps we should have sat in the booth by the bar (welp)!? We'll never know - not terrible, but not great. The food was solid and everyone was pleased with their meal. This isn't fine dining, and it is a chain. With that being said, we set our expectations accordingly. The pork chop has some type of brine this ensures it's seasoned and not dry. My only knock could be the asparagus depending on how well done your preference is. Service was fine - Questions were answered promptly, requests filled timely - no complaints. While the restaurant wasn't packed, there were several large parties. Good spot for crowds/solos/friends/couples if service, food, and drinks are on point. Chain Caribbean: 4.2 read more

I'm a sucker for themed restaurants and Bahama Breeze does not disappoint! My husband had mentioned coming here so I agreed, we've visited two more times since! There's tons of parking but it's really the decor that shines. It sounds SO weird to say that coming here makes me feel relaxed, like I'm on vacation. The front door has a pickup/drop off spot that gives valet at a resort vibe. The interior is breezy and decorated like an island resort. The tall ceilings and open concept plan is inviting. The staff have always been nice to us and welcoming. Sometimes service can be slow, however. The food is pretty good and the drinks have always been strong. I've always enjoyed the fish tacos here. Bahama Breeze is just a good time out and a much-needed break from reality by stepping away from busy Raleigh and walking into the peaceful Bahamas. read more

We stop here for a quick drink, our bartender Ian was wonderful! He served us promptly and was very kind - we felt welcome even though we weren't planning on grabbing food. We are looking forward to coming back, and hope we'll be under his service again! read more

For a first time, I will have to go back when they get it together . They had a limited menu for the night which is understandable seeing as though they're closing , it was also packed in there. The food was filling, wasn't bad. Sad they didn't have all the menu items for me to try. Waiter was coo! He was a vibe. It was also 5$ margarita Monday. We had two tables and separate waiters , the other table didn't get attention at all or told about the margarita special. What really got me was I asked the waiter to sing happy bday or do anything really and he said he could try , proceeded to ask the other waiter and the other waiter stated he didn't want to ruin anyone's birthday with singing ... idk for me it's like y'all could've did SOMETHING . Anything . I may visit a different location, this one was a little rough and the way everyone stood in the back instead of checking on tables was very telling . Hope to have a better experience before they close ! read more

Was in Raleigh and this place came up as a popular spot for the locals. The vibe was def of the Bahamas! Some employees were wearing fun camp shirts and the decor was vibrant and you could almost hear the waves crashing! We were greeted by Dejah who was fun and full of good suggestions! I ordered the Bahamarita with the spiked cactus juice shot on the side! They were both delicious! For an appetizer, we ordered the empanadas! They were flaky on the outside and filled with flavorful beef on the inside. They were served with sour cream and a mango salsa. SOOOOOOO good! The next time I'm in Raleigh, I will definitely make another stop in to Bahama Breeze! read more

My family and I visited this restaurant on January 25, 2024 during happy hour. There were nine of us so our server put two tables together to accommodate us. This was my first time being there during happy hour. I was intrigued by their special of half off all appetizers during happy hour, so I ordered a few appetizers to try them out along with some Jerk Chicken Wings. Our food came out within a decent timeframe; however, my mother's order was missing. The server apparently did not write down my mom's order so she had to wait a while for her food while everyone had their food and had began to eat. The food was tasty, and the portions were okay. The crab and cheese dip was flavorful, and you can actually taste the crab meat. The yuca cheese sticks were crispy and enjoyable; I enjoyed the buffalo type sauce with it better than the ranch type sauce. The jerk wings were also pretty good. Not as I expected but they were still good; I was not a fan of the sauce that came with the jerk wings as it was a little powdery tasting to me. I am from the islands so for me this dish wasn't authentic, but it tasted well. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the ability to spend a little time together. read more

They were extremely busy the prior night (seating was a 5 hour wait time) so we went on a Saturday evening and wait time was an hour and 30 mins. They seated us with a server who did not want to serve us because she was ready to go but she did serve us after a little back and forth with the waiter. However because of that we ordered an appetizer and our food. We received our food and drinks first. The food was flavorful and the atmosphere was really nice, kind of cold if I may add. The server rarely came back and check on us, ran out of drinks a few times so we just decided to take it to go, lost interest. The bill was handed with the appetizer that never came out but when she went back to the kitchen it just was sitting there saying "hi, you forgot me" when you have a server that is ready to go and do not want to serve customer anymore please send them home, their performance speaks for itself. read more

I did curbside and my side that came with the ribs was missing and I also ordered another side which was rice and beans and the rice was hard from sitting or uncooked. The ribs were very tough so that lead me to believe there weren't done. I threw the whole meal away and went to Applebees and that was excellent. I called and was told I would get a refund and a manager would call me in a couple hours, didn't get a refund or a call from management. Bahama breeze just not the same as it use to be. This was absolutely the worst meal I have had this year! The restaurant was dirty and had a very bad smell to it. I ordered the steak with coconut shrimp mashed potatoes and broccoli. Steak was tiny with no flavor, shrimp was soggy and nothing to dip it in (menu stated it came with a sauce) mashed potatoes had this weird film over it, but the broccoli......was very good! I do however want to throw a shout out to the waitress she was absolutely AMAZING!!! Very attentive and courteous, she should be promoted to the location manager! Great time on $2.22 margarita day. I left boozy with one special margarita and the flight. The steak was seasoned so well and cooked how I wanted it. Skirt steak is easy to overbook. Food was absolutely amazing tasting, arrived quickly and portions were plentiful. Tuna Tostada Stack was delicious and Coconut Shrimp were nice and crunchy with an amazing sauce. Salmon and Jerk Chicken Pineapple bowl were tasty and delightful as well. Atmosphere was good. Normal raleigh area restaurant. Food service was quick but waitress was lacking the common sense to give freshly seated folks more than 30 seconds with the menu before pressing them to place their entire order, provide silverware, serve iced tea with more than two cubes of ice and follow up with the bar for TWO stray Mohitos...only one of which I received. Service is subjective so don't let our bad server experience deter you from enjoying this wonderful food! read more

Bahama breeze is a staple in Raleigh. I've been going for years. My most recent visit was a 10/ 10. We met for a quick girls night with drinks and appetizers. The atmosphere was great, the Bahama Mama was tasty but could've had more rum in it. Our waiter seemed to be attentive at first but then seemed to disappear after serving our food. Thought it was kind of strange that our side salad came 2 minutes before the main entrees so my salad sat until I was done eating the main course. My wife enjoyed her grilled salmon and the sides. I ordered the Filet and coconut shrimp with a side of fries. The fries were hot and crispy. The coconut shrimp and dip were great. Unfortunately, the filet was the toughest steak I've ever had for that cut! I had to ask the hostess get our server as he was no where to be found. When he did arrive at the table I explained to him the filet was really tough and I wasn't interested in eating it. He offered me to recook another or get the manager, I elected for another filet. It took about 10 minutes to another one and it was better than the first one but still tough for a filet! I did eat most of it but I've had better elsewhere! I was surprised the manager never came over, but I don't think he knew what was going on as when I went to pay for our meal, the waiter explained that the only way to get another filet was to key it in on a separate check for the table. I was further instructed to ignore it and only pay for the ticket with our meals and drink. I was waiting for someone to chase us down as we left since the top light on the tablet was still red. I would go back but I would not recommend the filet as it was not very good and tough! read more

Had not been here in over 20 years but met some coworkers for drinks and happy hour appetizers last week. We sat out on the spacious deck and pretended we were actually in the islands. They have an extensive cocktail menu and I couldn't decide so I ordered the cocktail flight -- a Bahama mama, one love and painkiller. Honestly, I liked them all but the painkiller, aptly named, was strongest. The crab dip was creamy and decadent. Coworkers enjoyed their wings and empanadas. Waitress was so patient with our split checks/paying for other people's drinks/forgetting who ordered what. Now that I've rediscovered this fun place I look forward to returning. read more

I went to Bahama Breeze after a long day of driving and work meetings. It was close to our hotel, and honestly, we were just exhausted and ready to get some rest. Upon entering, the restaurant certainly has a Caribbean feel. We were seated in a booth, and the seat was worn completely down. All the vinyl was just peeling off. Moreover, I'm almost 5'6, and the seat was so high that my feet didn't touch the ground - which is uncomfortable. The restaurant has lots of hard surfaces, so even on a Monday night, it was really loud. As for the food and drinks - I strongly suggest the Ultimate Margarita. It was wonderful. The coconut shrimp were excellent as well. There wasn't much fish on the fish tacos, and they were really bland. The rice and beans were fantastic. Our server was good. I probably won't return except maybe for margaritas and appetizers. read more

The worst dining experience we have had in Raleigh. The customer service was terrible, slow server and it took almost an hour to get our food. And when the food came the fish was dry and tasteless. Great place to curb your Caribbean appetite! Located on Wake Forest road with their own parking available all around in their own lot. I highly suggest coming for Happy Hour - Monday-Friday 4-6 PM or Late Night Sunday - Thursday 9PM - 10PM. During Happy Hour you are able to order a long list of appetizers for half-off. Service here is usually good, but as with any restaurant you'll have some not so great times. With that being said, I've never had a terrible experience here as far as service is concerned. The drinks are AMAZING! I've never had a bad drink here. They are flavorful and strong, but in a good way. You literally can't go wrong! My favorite dishes include: Firecracker Shrimp, Jamaican Jerk Wings, Grilled Chicken with Cilantro-Crema, Beef Empanadas, and the Jerk Chicken Pasta. They are always adding new dishes to the menu, so keep a lookout when you go for new additions. If you're in the area and enjoy Caribbean dishes and drinks, please check this out! read more

Ok let's say I am pleased to announce the spicy habanero bbq wings are back, hence the addition of one star, but not quite 5 stars yet. Want to know why? The answer is my drink. So, I saw an email that had a drink called kiwi-melon tropical ice which looked really good. Well don't get excited bc it's no longer available, but they do offer a kiwi melon martini. It's a frozen drink, but mine was anything but frozen when I received it. Not sure if it sat on the bar too long before it came to my table or if it was never frozen to begin with. I took one sip and realized I didn't like it. It was entirely too sweet. In the meantime I ordered the wings, which they have changed the name to classic chicken wings and just offer spicy habanero bbq as a flavor option, along with classic Buffalo and citrus mustard. My husband ordered the classic Buffalo which he swore was hotter than the habanero wings. I did inform the waitress that I didn't like the drink and she offered to replace it with something else. I ordered the mystic margarita which was a lot better but still kind of sweet. By this time my wings had arrived and I opted to order a house salad to complete my meal vs. an entree. My son ordered the chicken tenders with fries which must have been good because he ate everything but one tender bc he was full. Our waitress was very attentive and welcoming. She was also friendly and helpful. She pointed out you can view the drinks and menu items on the table kiosk which is a plus for me because I like to see what I'm ordering prior to actually ordering it. Overall this was a nice experience and I would return as long as they keep the habanero wings . read more

We had reservations at 9pm however , we arrived at 8pm and they seated us promptly. Our server was Amazing and very knowledgeable about the menu. She even joked with us because a guy in our party loves Shirley Temples. LOL My only gripe was the time it took to get the appetizers, drinks , and main course. I can see why this place only has a couple stars. For starters it took over two hours for a table. I understand it's busy, and understaffed but it gave the impression this was not the first time. Especially with "none of the employees showed up today" comment. The food wasn't fresh, I didn't even eat anything due to it's bland taste, and cold interior. The new fries they brought. Which weren't "warmed up" like everything else. Managed to be edible, but lacking salt. Service was alright, nothing to tell your friends about. Im truly disappointed. Even the kids that were with my party didn't finish anything. This place needs structure in the kitchen, on the floor, with the staffing department, and in the restroom! I suggest hiring seasoned staff, maybe not kids pretending to be adults , who can communicate with better mannerisms. I hope that they can fix these issues because this is the only Bahama Breeze I've known in this kind of situation. read more

So here it was, time for the bi-weekly dinner with my mom & we wanted to break out of our rut of the 'usual' places we end up at for dinner. Many moons ago when we were still living in PA, we used to go to Bahama Breeze but as time went on & we all went our separate ways, we hadn't revisited this restaurant in a while. Well, my mom & I decided to give them another go as we were both craving yummy rum drinks. We had made an early reservation so we'd have plenty of time for other activities on our Saturday evening. We got to the restaurant a little before 4:30 and it was PACKED. There were a lot of people waiting both outside in the heat and inside, all waiting to be seated. This struck us a little odd because the place was just about empty. There were a lot of open seats. We were told that we'd have to wait before they could seat us so we decided to go to the bar & get the evening started. The bar area was VERY busy yet the bar staff were so very friendly. In fact, EVERYONE at the bar was very friendly. I started chatting with some lovely ladies who told me they were regulars. Our drinks came & man....so yummy! Finally, they were ready to seat us in an empty part of the restaurant. It didn't stay empty for very long! I was a little confused at the seating issue because at each table, they have those computers where you could order your meal or drinks so they didn't really need to wait for wait staff. The only area that they'd need extra staff would be for the lovely patio area (can't wait till it cools off a little to enjoy this space!!). Our server was simply adorable. She was seriously friendly and very bubbly. Again, I am AWFUL with names which is a shame because she really deserves props here. We put in our order and received a few surprises. My mom ordered a small glass of wine (they give you options of 6oz or 12 oz) and what arrived was a VERY generous pour much larger than the expected 6oz. Bonus! Next surprise was in my order. I ordered the blackened mahi mahi tacos but only wanted 2 because the drink I ordered was very filling. When my meal arrived, they gave me 3 tacos. When we checked our bill however, we found that we were billed for the 6oz of wine & the 2 tacos. The meal itself was simply fantastic. In all the years I've eaten at this place, I can't recall a single bad one. I'm sure that the current situation is due to Covid and the Great Resignation that has been going on. They must be having trouble in hiring enough help right now. If it weren't for the fact that we had to wait a bit, this would have been the perfect evening. We both decided that we will definitely have to re-acquaint ourselves with our old friend Bahama Breeze. read more

Ordered takeout from Bahama Breeze a few days ago and was not disappointed! It's been several years since the last time we have dined here, so we ordered the beef empanadas, firecracker shrimp, and calypso shrimp linguine. Beef empanadas: I remember having these before and they are still just as delicious! The flavor of the filling is great and the pastry is nice and crispy on the outside. Firecracker shrimp: If you are a fan of Bonefish Grill's bang bang shrimp, then you will LOVE the firecracker shrimp here! The fried shrimp goes super well with the sriracha aioli type of sauce, and I could have honestly eaten this entire thing as my meal. Calypso shrimp linguine: What I really enjoyed about this pasta dish was that it's not super heavy and there's no cream sauce to make you feel way too full after just a few bites. There were also a good number of shrimp in this dish and it held up well even as leftovers the following day. read more

This place--at least this location--is absolutely terrible. The service is bad and the food is nearly inedible. It took our server over thirty minutes to even come to our table. The cocktails, at least the one they remembered to bring us, was basically juice and no liquor. The place itself wasn't the tidiest either. Tables were left with food on them well after the patrons left. I am mind blown how this establishment is even rated this high. This location is making the chain look back.
