Today I ordered a large curry goat and I must say that I was more than satisfied. The goat was falling off the bone lean and well seasoned, rice and beans absorbed the curry gravy like a champ, cabbage and plantains staggered into mix like a divine combination. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE! We're here at 7:30, they close at 8. The older lady had an attitude and never spoke. We got a large plate that comes with two sides, cabbage and plantains. They're out of cabbage, so we asked if we could get the macaroni instead. She said no, with more attitude. We asked if it comes with 2 sides, and you're out of 1, can we substitute. She said no again. Mind you they have a full pan and a half of more macaroni (that looks old and dry, btw) there's no other customers and again, they close in 25 min. The experience was distasteful and unnecessary. Therefore we don't recommend and won't return again. As we were leaving out, someone told me, "They always have attitude in here." WOW. I brought my 12-year-old son here because he wanted to try a Jamaican beef patty, and the woman at the counter was unbelievably nasty, dismissive and unprofessional. One-word answers, constant attitude, and she treated a child like he was inconveniencing her. If you dislike dealing with customers that much, you belong in the back of the house, not representing the restaurant at the front counter. She should be ashamed of herself. An absolutely terrible first impression of this establishment. Thankfully, another gentleman stepped in, was gracious and professional, made the patties fresh, and salvaged my son's experience. Curry goat - tasty, good amount of heat, and not too bony Brown stew chicken - nothing really wrong, just not my favorite rendition locally. A little sweet tasting. Salt fish and ackee - on the breakfast menu but may be available later in the day. I'm not into salt fish, but it got good reviews. All meals ordered were Small and the servings were very generous. Meals come with rice and 2 sides. We opted for rice and peas, which were very flavorful, steamed cabbage, which needed a little salt, and fried plantains, which are what they are, which is to say sweet and delicious. The salt fish came with dumplings, which had a warm spice flavor. Escovitch fish is cooked to order and takes about 20 minutes so ordering ahead would be a good move. The Ox tails are delicious! Fall off the bone tender with great Jamaican flavor. Three stars for me only because the Mac n Cheese was very bland and small on top of a small portion. Chocolate cake was decent could've been more moist. The Ox tails made up for the other two. read more

I'm not a fan of anything too spicy or extreme on the heat level but Golden Krust's Chee-Zee Beef Patty was soooo good. Too good actually because I went and ordered another one! The perfect flaky crust and the delicious filling with the perfect amount of spice. Not too overpowering. Which I loved. We also ordered the Curried Chicken Roti ( eating soon! ) The workers were so friendly and patience with us as we ordered. They greeted us with a smile and helped us in a timely fashion. This location has plenty of seating, great music playing at a reasonable volume, plenty of parking, and two TVs as well playing a range of things. I've heard stories about golden crusts up north so I never even thought to try them once I moved down here. BOY was that a mistake lol. Me and my partner were running some errands and we wanted a nice bite to eat, golden crust was in the area and after checking the menu from our fellow yelpers we decided to head over there and grab some patties and a roti. We ordered a jerk chicken patty, cheeze Beef patty and a curried chicken roti. The roti is made to order so unknowingly we did a smart thing by ordering two Patties and a roti because once we were done with our patties our roti was coming right out. Those Patties were De-Lic-ious, if you are a fan of some heat you'll love the jerk chicken patty, the dough was crispy and flaky, the jerk mixture wasn't to wet that it messed the dough up it was delicious. The cheeze beef was amazing, the cheese was melted and mixed in with the beef so there was no bite that you didn't get cheeze beef. They were so good that we thought about getting two more patties but we waited and good thing we did. This chicken roti was amazing. The chicken just fell apart as you ate it, it was full of flavor like it's been stewing in the curry for hours, legit fall of the bone tender. This was perfect for us to share but you can easily get one for yourself as a meal. Chicken roti and some rice and beans and you'll have enough for leftovers for lunch the next day. I will for sure be a frequent customer as golden crust I have my eye set on trying a few more patties and a few more rotis and I know if it's anything like the food we had it's going to be really good. read more

Was a 5 but had to change it to a 3. The food still tastes great but the other aspects of the business is lacking. If you order online, do NOT order from their website because it does not give you all of the full options you should have. Like plantains...it is supposed to come with your meal but it is not selectable on their website sooooo...no plantains for you lol. The second reason for the 3 is this is the second time in a row that they have left off my beef patty. They charged me for it but keep forgetting to put one in my bag. Spent $67 and even gave them a tip for a pick up order and don't get what I paid for. To top it off, the patty wasn't even for me so another meal missing a component. Either I'll have to inspect my order or just choose another restaurant next time. Inspecting isn't made easy considering they plastic wrap your food to prevent spilling (which is great!) but you won't find out your disappointment until you get home. read more

The worst Jamaican food I have ever had. I lived in the DC/MD area for over 16 years and never had flavorless Jamaican food. My favorite place was the Jerk Pit in College Park, MD. Their Red Snapper was right every time. The Red Snapper I purchased from here was flavorless with a fishy element. I was glad I purchased some jerk sauce, just for it to be edible. The rice and peas were flavorless. I wonder if they even used coconut milk to make it. To add insult to injury, the plantains were not sweet. I do not understand how this place gets any business or stars. Again, the absolute worst Jamaican food I have ever had. I have made better at home and I am not Jamaican. read more
