This was my first visit to this location. I do not know Raleigh well, so I had a little bit of a hard time finding the entrance, but got there ok. There is plenty of parking around the building that it shares with a Butcher Shop store. The location was clean and bright and the menu was easy to read. I did visit the bathroom and it was clean as well. The service was not as good as my location....I had to stand for a bit before the girl acknowledged me and even though I told her I was a reward member, she did not mention I got a free drink. My location would have told me....but I will go to my location before the end of the month to eat and get my drink then. I had just eaten at a nearby location, but went in for cake. They had both kinds, the red velvet and the white chocolate. I chose the white chocolate this time and intended to take it home and share it....well, it was near 5:00 and the traffic was terrible going back to Fuquay, so at a stop light I decided to try it. CSC was giving out a free scoop of their basic chicken salad to each customer, no purchase necessary. They mince the chicken so finely; it was delicious. Definitely returned to Chicken Salad Chick, as I was back in town. Had the Chick( Lauryns Lemon) on white bread. The chicken salad was very fresh as were the accompanying vegetables. The chicken salad could have used more lemon flavor as it was lacking but again, was still delicious. My chicken poblano soup was excellent as it had just enough spices and chicken. Unfortunately, I was too hungry and ate my lunch without taking any pictures. My companions enjoyed their chicken salad plates and sandwiches. I found it to be more of a quick snack vs an actual dinner as it was light but satisfying. Service was quick & prompt but that didn't compromise the integrity of the food. Chicken Salad Chick recently opened in Raleigh, NC so that means no more drives to Cary for chicken or egg salad. It is behind where the McDonald's was on Lake Boone. I didn't plan to stop on the second day opened but when driving home I decided to stop. I wasn't sure what the parking situation would be but it wasn't too bad. The outside seating and dumpsters do take up some of the parking spots. The staff is friendly and someone is near the registers to greet you. There are menus near the door too. I'm not sure I like this layout of the restaurant though as when you walk in you walk into the dining area here and nowhere to view the menu without disturbing those eating. Then after ordering to go you basically wait in the dining area too so you are right near those dining in. I ordered egg salad and the three chicken salads with fruit. Then got the grape salad with both meals. I did get a free water bottle for the second day giveaway. They have different giveaways all week. read more

First timer: I'd driven past so many times, I thought I'd give it a try. The food was pretty good. 8/10. The choices for chicken salad are vast and the restaurant inside was cute and comfortable. But the soup quantity (serving size) was insulting. The cup wasn't close to being filled and when my tiny spoon hit the false bottom, I was actually shocked - the shallowest bottom I've ever seen (proportionally to the container). I could actually tip the "full" cup without spilling and see the bottom, so the tiny container wasn't even half filled. The false bottom was 1/4 inch up from the bottom edge of the outside wall. The colors on the outside mislead because the colors go well below the false bottom and the white ring left on the outside is so much smaller than the actual distance the false bottom is from the bottom. I estimate the total soup to be about 8 teaspoons. Ridiculous. read more

I was looking forward to trying this because I had heard about it from different sources. However, two stars for three reasons: One, I was shocked at how expensive it is. $7.50 for a small container they claim is for two people, but a hungry adult could easily polish off. The large container is over $12 I believe. I tried three different kinds. My second objection is that while they were all decent, none of them were outstanding in any way. I've had better chicken salad from a variety of sources. Frankly, I was expecting a "wow" factor and was surprised that it just wasn't there. And I'm not that fussy! The third reason is the deal killer for me; the ingredients include high fructose corn syrup as well as corn syrup. First, neither of these ingredients are really good for you (do your research). But I was very disappointed that they felt they need to add sweetness to a food that doesn't need it. That happens a lot, and it's a sad commentary on American tastes. I usually avoid HFC but I made an exception this time. But I won't again. read more

Went to the Raleigh location a week after they opened. I got there at 11:45am on Monday, the second week after opening. By the time I checked out, people were piling in. Very popular already. I was greeted by what appeared to be managers. Very helpful. I went to the prepared foods section and grabbed a couple of chicken salads and a pimento cheese. Went to the checkout where the employees were just as helpful and pleasant as the first individuals I encountered. Somehow I thought I read that you could buy bread, like a loaf or something. I asked and was told yes. I was offered white, wheat or croissants. I said white. Then the employee asked for how many sandwiches. I said 4 sandwiches. She then packed just 4 slices of white bread into a plastic baggie and charged me a dollar per slice. I guess bread is not something to order. It all felt awkward. Pros- Food is very good. It's nice to have so many chicken salads, pimento cheese and egg salad...plus lots of side options available instead of fast food. Really cute establishment. Feels comforting inside and I like the packaging and logos. Cons - A lot of construction in the parking lot. Not the restaurant's fault, but annoying. Staff were super friendly, and my food was delivered very promptly! I loved how the owner came to my table to ensure that my food and dining experience were good. Today I tried the white chocolate cake- I am typically not a cake fan, but I must say, that cake is AMAZING! So moist and luscious ~ the cream cheese frosting totally sealed the deal with its sumptuous tangy taste that balanced out the sweetness of the cake perfectly! Decor was really cute and southern porch style and the workers were friendly and helpful. The chicken salad was absolutely delicious and I wish we had these up north!
