Spending the day at the North Carolina Museum of Art was absolutely lovely and the best part was lunch at the Eat Cafe. You order at the counter then pick out your own table, either inside or outside. They then bring you your food. It was quick and everything came out exactly as we ordered. Lemme tell ya, this chicken salad croissant was AMAZING. So full of flavor and the croissant was buttery and the absolute perfect vehicle for the chicken salad. Accompanied with crispy fries, this meal was life giving. The vibes were just excellent here. We were able to eat and then relax at our table for over an hour. It wasn't busy, I guess since it was a Wednesday, so it was super comfy.

This little cafe is part of the North Carolina Museum of Art. My daughter and I went on Wednesday and it wasn't busy. You can, however, make reservations. I chose the tarragon chicken salad on croissant. It was so delicious! I'm diabetic so I didn't choose fries as my side but instead chose fresh fruit. The museum has an east building and a west building. We lunched in between. They also have salads and other light fare to choose from. This was convenient and a little jewel of a place to eat.

The smashburger was phenomenal!!! It had their special sauce, jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, and cheese on it. The burger was well seasoned and cooked just right with those smashburger crispy edges. The chicken tenders were also well seasoned, crispy, fresh, and actually tender to the bite. The fries had the perfect amount of salt and crisp and I didn't expect to get it, but my meal also came with a nice slice of texas toast. Overall, I left with a good first impression, and am definitely coming back next time I'm in Raleigh. Customer Service: Upon arrival, the owner introduced herself to me and welcomed me in. She was soooooo friendly!!! I appreciated her entrusting me to one of her cashiers for recommendations when I told her it was my first visit! He was down to earth and very outgoing when asking what I had a taste for and how hungry I was and advising how he hooks his food up! Needless to say, him recommending the special was the best idea! Ambiance: This place is casual, well-lit and inviting. It's next to the college campus so it's ideal for a group of friends meeting up in the evening or for lunch!

Some pasta dishes, some pizzas, all happy. Out the door was right at $414.00 which is super reasonable for such a crowd. 10/10 will be back

First of all, I implore anyone wanting to go, make reservations during peak hours! We entered through a big heavy wooden door into the quasi-dark atmosphere and were promptly seated, despite most of the tables being occupied. We were given a two top and started with chips and guacamole. I was impressed with the chips, they were a little extra thick, had tiny bubbles in them. Certainly a far departure from the typical thin, overly salty chip found at most restaurants and grocery stores. Excellent guac with a little pico and lime wedge on the side. I ordered the Baja bowl with shredded adobo chicken. The bowl had green rice, black beans, a whole lot of kale, tomatillo sauce, pickled red onions, crema, and cilantro. It needed a little more, so I added in some of the guac, a few chips I crumbled in my hands for some crunch, and some fresh lime juice. Noah did a good job keeping our water glasses full and he was quite friendly. However, the restroom situation is a bit difficult. There are two small unisex bathrooms, both of which have to be locked. There can't be more than one person in there at the same time, so plan accordingly. Granted, since there isn't much space in the restaurant, it's not as if they have a ton of options.
