    Hot huny chik'n biscuit
    Hadja T.

This is the sister restaurant to Marian. As your vegetarian/pescetarian/vegan reviewer, this was a must try. This restaurant is listed as gastropub and that term perfectly describes the atmosphere. It has a casual, comfy vibe with a simple, but elevated quality to the food. Element is located in downtown Raleigh, near the Convention Center and has plenty of nearby paid parking garages. Our server was very pleasant. The music was at a comfortable level where it was heard, but allowed for conversation. We started with the mini Henny cinni rolls which were flaky with just enough sweet. We then ordered the chik'n and waffles and hot huny chik'n biscuit. Both dishes were delicious. The waffle was made of cornbread and did not disappoint. The biscuit was dense and moist. The chik'n was perfectly crisp and moist and just blended seamlessly with each dish. Not many places have great plant-based dishes that are worth revisiting. Element is worth a trip and anther trip and another trip.

    Carolina Vegetarian BBQ Sandwich

I ordered the Carolina Vegetarian BBQ sandwich without slaw with fries. Coming from TX I am trying to like NC BBQ Sauce. This one, however had a LOT of vinegar. I wonder if that's why they added the slaw? Overall, I enjoyed my meal. My mom got the Octoberfest Burger and states the sauerkraut really made the burger. Will probably order from here again!

"Welcome to The Herbivore's Hideout -- where plants are the main event, not just the garnish. They've banished bacon, ditched dairy, and said 'peas out' to all meat. Instead, their chefs work their veggie magic to turn humble roots and leafy greens into mouthwatering masterpieces. Vegetarians and Vegans come hungry and leave herbivorously enlightened!" Being a carnivore myself, I sit cautiously, scanning the menu like it's written in a foreign language--hoping for a slim chance of the steak, the chicken, the anything-that-used-to-moo? But as it states, the plants make the rules in this house. "Like a basil-scented hug from an Italian grandma who just discovered cashews -- their fluffy gnocchi arrived sitting in a pesto that doesn't do smooth talk, its cashew base creates more of a gritty and not so smooth and creamy texture. Each bite bursts with herbaceous brightness, mellow nuttiness, unfortunately the grit isn't for me. So leaf It to them, the only thing more vibrant than their veggies is their team. They serve smiles faster than you can say 'seitan,' and they bring the kind of energy you'd expect from people who've had three oat milk lattes and a kale smoothie. Cheers!

Been here a few times and love it! Element has a fantastic vegan menu perfect for vegans and non-vegans to enjoy. The gastropub is located in downtown Raleigh near the convention center. While attending conventions I like to walk here for lunch. I've sat at the patio bar and indoor tables. Each visit has left me happy, satisfied, and eager to return. Plus I appreciate their Animazement specials over Memorial Day weekend. Some of our favorites include the kale caesar salad with tofu, pretzel with queso and mustard, tonkatsu sando, and peanut butter cheesecake. The vibe is welcoming and relaxing. Service is usually good. Most recently Karlesha (may be misspelled) was our server and she was amazing! We could see she was serving multiple tables inside and out. Nonetheless she was attentive and took extra time to make our visit special. Our group had various dietary allergies and preferences and were able to order anything from the menu. This fact alone made for a laid back, enjoyable experience. Only things I'm not a fan of are the croutons (too plain for my taste) and the excessive ice used in the mocktails and cocktails. Overall, highly recommended place for a nutritious, filling meal!

Overall: A really fun place that definitely does plant-based food right. Great attention to detail in the dishes. Will be back soon to try other items! Food: I felt like the food here was great. With the premise of the food being plant-based, you can tell the decisions being made with each dish are very intentional. Something I really appreciate is the attention to texture in the dish. My gnocchi was a wonderful blend of ingredients that balanced sweet and savory, but also included ingredients that gave it a contrasting crunch or snap texture with each bite. I feel like gnocchi especially, is a very easy dish to make the texture of the dish all soft. Service: The service was great! I feel like the wait for food is a little bit longer on average compared to other places, but nothing crazy. Ambiance: This is a fun environment, the restaurant has large windows that let you see outside while you dine, and enjoy the city view. I didn't utilize them, but I also saw an self service beer situation in the back.

Visited Element Gastropub 4x in the span of 3 days and could not recommend it more! The drinks menu is spectacular. Loved the THC drinks but even the mocktails tasted so good. You can also take drinks to go and sip and stroll along Fayetteville St. For brunch, the Nojangles 3 Piece Supreme Stack was so delicious. The breakfast burrito was smaller than expected, but delicious. For dessert, the Apple Pie is a MUST GET. Overall, highly recommend for drinks or to grab a meal. Service is wonderful and staff is extremely friendly.

I have yet to eat something at Element I didn't enjoy. ALL the appetizers are good, as are the salads and burgers. BUT my absolute favorite thing to have there is the peanut butter cheesecake. Even when I've had a meal elsewhere, I will drive to Element for dessert. So yummy! And so rare to find.

Unfortunately my cheesecake had a piece of metal sticking out of it, and was moldy on the bottom. Would absolutely NOT recommend this restaurant--I had to call and ask for a refund and then call the health department. I was going to come back for dinner (this was just a snack), but I won't go to either of their businesses again.

Holy cow this place was delicious. Portions could have been a tiny bit larger, but was so yummy I'll be back. Service was great. Our server was super nice and on top of refills. The vibe is chill. Nothing super posh, etc.

Top tier vegan spot in Raleigh. Best chicken and waffles I ever had and I'm not even vegetarian or vegan. The chili was amazing. Fries were bangin. Super clean place. Service was great with Victoria.

Great first experience from a non vegan. I really enjoyed my meal I had the Carolina BBQ sandwich with malt vinegar fries. The flavors in the sandwich were amazing! The fries were perfect crisp and not oily. Wish there was more fries but I was honestly full after my meal. I had the pumptini cocktail which was okay (a little thick because of purée) and small portion. The pop peanut butter cheesecake was amazing! Creamy soft and tasted exactly like a butterfinger. If you served this to me without telling me it was vegan I wouldn't have known! Our server was amazing! She was knowledgeable on the menu and gave great recommendations. Order quickly though when they come to you because when they walk away it can take them a bit to circle back. The decor and ambiance were classy and on par with the vegan theme. Will deff come back and try other items.

    Pimento cheese rangoons

The service on this Saturday I went was good. The ambiance was super chill and quiet at this time. It was about 1:30 pm so not too busy downtown that day. There's plenty of outdoor seating which is nice and as I was there, I noticed they do allow pets in that area too. The cheese rangoons were definitely my favorite dish, so much so that I ordered a second order. The chick'n sandwich wasn't bad but nothing to run home to Mom about. I would return if in the area and the mood for vegan food.

Seriously, if you can't find a pour you like here, you may just need water instead. Started with the biscuits topped with crackling and house-made preserves, and honestly, that combo alone made me question why I don't eat more biscuits in life. Sweet, salty, buttery chaos in the best way. For the main, I went with the pork chop and greens. The chop leaned a little overcooked for me personally, but the sauce helped bring things back together and added good flavor. The greens had a nice little kick of heat, but I kept waiting for that deep smoky ham hock flavor to show up like an old Southern grandma entering the kitchen... and it never quite arrived. Overall though? Still a solid meal, strong whiskey program, cool atmosphere, and definitely worth checking out if you're in Raleigh looking for a bourbon-forward dinner spot. Travelin_Broke approved with a slight side-eye from the greens.

She was welcoming, attentive, and handled everything smoothly, even as a few more parties came in while she was the only one serving at the time. One thing I really appreciated was that she let us know upfront what items were out of stock before we even looked at the menu. That level of transparency is huge and makes the experience so much better. My son ordered a slider with fries from the kids' menu. It comes with just one slider, so I ordered a second, definitely the right call. He enjoyed it, and the fries were cooked well, just a little on the salty side for our taste (ketchup helped balance that out). I had the shrimp tacos. It's packed and perfect portion for lunch. The shrimp, pineapple slaw, and chipotle mayo was a nice mix. The restaurant was clean (including the bathrooms). The location is also a plus, super close to the Art Museum, which makes it a great stop before or after visiting. Overall enjoyable, and I'd come back, especially to try more of the menu and the drinks.

I was thrilled that most of the menu was available. They were just out of the banana pudding. So I got to try the pecan wings I read about with the white sauce. It was so good. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. Service was friendly and as soon as I finished my iced tea, another appeared. My wings were brought out first and it was a while for the rest of the meal as the restaurant was full. But they didn't rush me at all. I actually liked the space between the dishes, as I might not have been able to eat it all otherwise. I couldn't finish both biscuits and was even provided a container for the honey. I am going to miss Beasley's, but I'm glad I got a positive experience to remember the restaurant.

We started with a Caesar salad with dill pickle dressing, which sounds like it shouldn't work but absolutely does. Bright, fresh, and just different enough to be interesting without trying too hard.
