I had ordered through the Lunchdrop website and I am very disappointed at the product. I order the Italian diablo and it was missing oil and vinegar that I requested. But more importantly I received the sandwich with the incorrect bread....Where is my sesame seed roll? Very sad as I usually love this place.

I'm all about an awesome sub shop! This spot is right when you turn in, by the entrance to the Harris Teeter garage. I ordered online, it said 35 minutes, but I arrived early and it was ready. If you order online just know your sandwiches will be in the bag, but you have to get all your a la cart sides and dessert items directly from the case. If I hadn't looked in the bag, I would have walked out without half of my order. I got the sharp Italian and it was delicious! I'm always a fan of Italian grinders and this one did not disappoint. I got the small size and it was stuffed full, definitely substantial. My husband got the chicken parm and his sandwich was much smaller. I'd personally stick with more of the deli cuts. I thought the sides were awesome. I loved the marinated mozzarella and the pasta salad was spot on. I also enjoyed the rice pudding for dessert. I look forward to grabbing subs here again!

I've been to Primo 3 times, and each sandwich has been on the money. I love the substantial, hearty sesame roll, and the quality of the ingredients seems pretty high for a chain. I've had three various versions of their Italian: The Sharp Italian, Italian Diablo, and the Old Italian. They've all been so good, it's gonna be hard to branch out past the solid Italian options. My wife got the Big T on a wrap, and really enjoyed it as well. Service was a little slow in the beginning, but I think they have it figured out now. Definitely a "to go" kind of spot, with a couple tables outside for a nice day. This is a phenomenal sandwich, and the menu has options for all.

Visited Primo Hoagie's for an Italian sandwich. While the sandwiches were decent enough on occasion, the overall experience was marred by consistently poor service. The staff often came across as rude, which detracted from the enjoyment of the meal. The ambiance is that of which you would expect from a Primohogies.

I've had mixed experiences here. The first 3 times were pretty decent. But the 4th was inedible. I tried contacting their customer service both on their website and then through twitter with no response. It's been a week and no response to my reasonable message to them about the problem I experienced. Having worked in kitchens and in the hospitality industry for the majority of my life, I'm familiar with a lot that goes on in a restaurant. The staff is always pretty friendly. The fridge is usually stocked with sides and such. Seems clean. So the front of the house seems in check. Back of the house/kitchen, not so much. I ordered a chicken parm sandwich. Pretty basic. And this hoagie is made using ingredients that they have on many other sandwiches. The problem: My chicken was more like jerky than a moist chicken cutlet. This wasn't from over-frying. This was from sitting after cooking for far too long. When I bit into my sandwich, I couldn't chew through it. Really disgusting. So perhaps stick with deli meat sandwiches here. I've not had a problem with those. They have tons of options. Lots of unique ones. I hope they figure out quality control. I'll probably try it again at some point, and if no issues I'll update the review. I want it to be awesome but they missed the mark.

The pumpkin arancini is a stroke of genius and should be the first thing you order! I had the sea bass (catch of the day) also unique, with olives and blistered tomatoes. Light, perfectly done & flavorful: exquisite. The ravioli with boar meat is an option too interesting to pass up, and it did not disappoint. The cocktail selection was solid- I was especially pleased to see a nod to classic cocktails that were expertly done. The wine list is unusual. When we inquired about it, the waiter said the owners of the restaurant, both sommeliers, continue to develop their list based on what is available due to tariffs and the related challenges with sourcing. So, for an Italian restaurant offering wine selections from Turkey and Chile, there were big shoes to fill, and the wines were lovely- for each dish we ordered. Cannoli for dessert (1?) was delicious. Next time we hope to try the key lime panna cota or other offerings, they looked straightforward on the menu, but I am certain they will be a post-dinner delight that reflects the thoughtfulness of the rest of the menu.

We also tried pork chop and it was not bad should probably try the flank steak instead. I had chocolate cannoli- the cream was rich but not overly sweet - very nice. Tiramisu was also more flavor than sweet which is what we love. Waiter was very attentive and helpful in suggesting dishes. Overall - if I don't count the mishap on seating - it was a good experience.

First of all, I implore anyone wanting to go, make reservations during peak hours! We entered through a big heavy wooden door into the quasi-dark atmosphere and were promptly seated, despite most of the tables being occupied. We were given a two top and started with chips and guacamole. I was impressed with the chips, they were a little extra thick, had tiny bubbles in them. Certainly a far departure from the typical thin, overly salty chip found at most restaurants and grocery stores. Excellent guac with a little pico and lime wedge on the side. I ordered the Baja bowl with shredded adobo chicken. The bowl had green rice, black beans, a whole lot of kale, tomatillo sauce, pickled red onions, crema, and cilantro. It needed a little more, so I added in some of the guac, a few chips I crumbled in my hands for some crunch, and some fresh lime juice. Noah did a good job keeping our water glasses full and he was quite friendly. However, the restroom situation is a bit difficult. There are two small unisex bathrooms, both of which have to be locked. There can't be more than one person in there at the same time, so plan accordingly. Granted, since there isn't much space in the restaurant, it's not as if they have a ton of options.

The Radiatore small pasta was delicious and satisfying while just the right size for lunch, adding chicken for a protein boost. My friend enjoyed the Chicken Parm Sando and Kardashian Chopped Salad. Good service in a surprisingly well decorated atmosphere, I would come back to Flour & Barrel for more Italian goodness! The Deets: I wanted to catch up with a friend over a weekday lunch and we scoped out Flour & Barrel in DTR to do just that. When entering in from the pretty nondescript exterior/entrance on the corner of North and Harrington Streets, it becomes a colorful well decorated bistro/bar type feeling inside which is welcoming. We were shown to our table next to one of the wide windows facing North St, I liked this table with lots of natural light and yes, I am a people watcher as well. The server took our drink orders and asked if we had any questions about the menu. The lunch menu is pretty succinct but well represented, offering focaccia sandwiches (sandos), small pastas (pasta handmade in-house), and salads. It also has a wine and craft beer selection also if needed. My friend went with the Chicken Parmesan Focaccia Sando (has pomodoro, mozzarella, and basil) with Kardashian Chopped Salad (made with romaine, salami, provolone, piquillo peppers, artichoke, and garbanzo) for a side while I chose the Radiatore small pasta selection. The Radiatore is described on the menu as "our version of carbonara but creamier / guanciale / egg" so naturally it caught my eye. I am usually pretty cut and dry about wanting carbonara to be the traditional type but since they stated upfront that this is their version, I was willing to give it a go. I am glad I did, as this pasta dish was great. The serving was the perfect size for lunch, plus I was able to add chicken to it as well. The sauce was creamy and delicious, going well with the al dente pasta. This meal was most satisfying and I would love to get this one again in the future. My friend really enjoyed the sando so much, he had originally planned to eat half and take the other half home...that didn't work out the way he planned as he devoured the whole sandwich there, it was that good. He also enjoyed the salad as well. Our server did well checking on us and making sure we had what we needed.
