This is my second experience at this location. I have also been to the other location one time. I always get the same thing which is the red snapper I wish I could get it by itself without having any additional sides. The sides are not impressive. I would give the rice and peas a 5/10 and the cabbage 6/10. Also, this time the customer service was very much lacking and rude. The people behind the counter did not greet me or others when we came through the door and when you go to pay, they were very rude. I most likely will not be back.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a Golden Krust on this side of town since there aren't too many options for Jamaican food in this area. It's not a fancy place with several small tables & it's cafeteria style. The servers behind the counter were very efficient despite being pretty busy. Fair warning - the portions are HUGE! Everything we had was delicious. The curried goat and the oxtails were well stewed and tender. I opted for the callaloo and salt cod instead of the sautéed cabbage in my combo plate. It was pretty tasty although a bit on the salty side. We had enough leftovers for several meals!

Large oxtail. Rice and peas, cabbage. Can easily split with 2 people. Yum!

Service was good! Food was good! Portion size gooooood! I'd go again. I had a large oxtail plate. It was well worth the price. *I had a curry chicken patty, but I didn't like it. The filling was thick and weird. I usually love patties but I did not like this one. Everything else was good though.

    Yum!

Rating based on: consistency, cleanliness, quality, taste, and presentation $5-20 for a decent meal LISTEN UP GANG! Let me put y'all onto Golden Krust in Brier Creek - and this ain't just any review, this is coming from someone who used to have this spot on SPEED DIAL in NYC! Let's talk about them beef patties that got me in my feelings! The pastry dough? FLAKIER THAN YOUR EX'S PROMISES! We're talking about a luscious, impeccable hand-held piece of heaven stuffed with perfectly seasoned ground beef that's giving main DUNE character energy! The spice blend? BUSSIN' FR FR! Back in NY, ya boy used to demolish 3-4 of these bad boys with that ginger and pineapple juice combo that hits harder than your morning Colombian, coffee! NO CAP! Now peep the jerk chicken patty - this right here? This the one that got me writing poetry! It's more fire than my mixtape (respectfully)! The spice level is giving "just right" energy - not trying to kill you but enough to let you know it means business! This joint is so scrumptious, it's got me speaking in tongues! And don't sleep on that raisin pound cake! SHEEEESH! More moist than your skincare routine and paired with cheese? It's a combo nobody asked for but everybody needs! The Brier Creek location is staying true to the NY roots - clean enough to eat off the floor (but don't do that), and the ambience is fresher than your new haircut! I'm literally getting hungry writing this review - that's how serious this is! This spot is more consistent than your gym schedule in January! Five stars, and that's on PERIOD! If you know, you know, and if you don't know, now you know! Golden Krust got me out here acting up, and I ain't even sorry about it! Real talk - this spot is serving straight HEAT! Pull up and thank me later! Your taste buds will be doing the electric slide! P.S. - If you ain't tried the beef patty and ginger beer combo, what are you even doing with your life?

This place doesn't beat other local spots like "Where's the Jerk" but it was significantly faster. Other similar spots around here take around 1.5 to 2 hours to get your food and this spot took about 10 minutes, so I consider this a major win! We got some beef patties, a chicken patty, the fruit punch and a small braised oxtail platter. While I've seen other reviews say that the oxtail is a bit expensive, I personally felt that they gave a lot (even in the small portion) and the oxtail was perfectly cooked. The seating is limited but the takeout portions are the same as the dine-in portions so it's the perfect place to get takeout from. The punch is a must try; I drank it all in less than a minute. The beef patty was great and we both liked it more than the chicken one. Overall, love this addition to the Brier Creek area and can't wait to go back and try their jerk chicken!

The chicken taste old and refried. We usually never have an issue but today we were very disappointed.

I had no idea Golden Krust had actual restaurant locations -- I was excited to check it out! I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas, along with a spicy beef patty. The chicken was a bit on the dry side, but it was seasoned really well -- I'd give it a solid 7/10. The spicy beef patty was the standout 8/10: tender, flavorful, and wrapped in a nicely crisp, flaky crust. Overall, a satisfying meal!

We made the trek from the north side of town over and it was worth it. The place is immaculately clean and the menu is an extensive list of cuisine from all over the world. From Jamaica to Ghana and place in between. I know this could be a difficult balance to strike, but it was done well. I ordered the oxtails with rice and peace and plantains. The order was a nice size but I do feel the oxtails portion could have been bigger. Lots of sauce but not a lot of meat. The seasoning on it was very well done. Spicy but not too spicy. Well balanced. I enjoyed it along with my well portioned sides. The person with me got jollof rice and chicken. They said the rice was good and the grilled onion on top of the chicken was perfect. The chicken wasn't to their personal taste but looked well portioned and prepared. They also had a variety of bottled drinks to choose from like mango and hibiscus drinks. I would go back.

The meat really did taste as if it was refried or the grease was old. Definitely wasn't fresh. The macaroni and cheese was just noodles and cheese, no flavor. The yams were stringy. The turkey collards were the only thing I enjoyed. The "cake" was honestly a mini portion of a store bought pound cake. I felt totally ripped off when I could've dinned in elsewhere for a completely different experience for $30. The staff was very nonchalant when I introduced myself as a first time customer asking for suggestions. There aren't many designated soul food places in Raleigh and I feel like this is totally a missed opportunity and it's unfortunate because I drove almost 30 min each way just for them.

I let that go because the yams made up for it. The second night I got a fish sandwich. It was fresh. My son liked their Mac-n-cheese. I will definitely go back!
