Good Country Cooking This little country eatery always delivers. The Fried Flounder Lunch ($9.99 with 2 sides) hit the spot. The fish was lightly battered, crispy on the outside - flaky on the inside. The Potato Salad and Butter Beans tasted home-made and delicious. Service was prompt and efficient and came with a smile. No frills here - just good country cooking. read more

I absolutely adore the farmers kitchen! It is so cool. The concept is just great perfect for today's generation and others as well! Now let's talk about service! I love it can't say enough about it. You go in you order your food and it's up to you, where you sit whether it's inside or outside I love it! As for ambience, they allow dogs on the outside! Yes, it makes a difference to those of us that have dogs... There is nothing I can say besides it's a cool concept. I love the way you place your order and go about your business and they holler at you when it's ready to eat! read more

Service is great and friendly. The fried catfish on Tuesdays is very good and love the cheese steak! We also like having breakfast there. Good portions also. read more

I'm going to read in a four because of an 11 year old boy me and my dad used to go there a lot it was really good and really slow but it was good and I one time I looked in the back and it was really nasty so that was a setback so I changed my mind about a four I think of three and then but I'll keep it at 4 and I read a post saying they only change the grease one time in two weeks so but the food is good read more

First visit. Bought daily specials, hamburger steak and chicken casserole. Green beans, pickled beets, mashed potatoes, butterbeans, and okra. Everything cooked well. Okra crispy. They use salt with a light hand. read more

Staff is always very nice and good is always great!! Doesn't matter what you order it is going to be amazing.

We stopped for lunch and ordered the chicken salad. It tasted just like my grandma's. I had not had any chicken salad like this in over 20 years. It took me back. The hot, fresh potato chips were amazing. The restaurant was very busy but great service. Prices were great!!!! read more

Went back to this restaurant for dinner and it was really good. I had the flounder with 2 sides and my wife had the flounder and crab cake combo. Both were excellent and very filling. We took deserts to go and look forward to trying them later. I'm upgrading from 4.5 to 5 stars!!! read more

I love this place! It is exactly the local, feel like you're home, kind of restaurant. I have never had anything I don't love. The pancake is the best and the biscuits are amazing! I decided to stop here for a quick bite because I was coming though for business. The food was okay, but the potato salad tasted a little off. The service was good and quick. However it wasn't until I was checking out that I noticed that they have an 88 food grade. If I'm ever back in town, I'll eat at the subway. read more

The front of the house is clean thanks to certain waitresses. But if you got a glimpse behind the curtain. You would probably think twice before eating there. The owner is completely clueless and would rather sit at home. And Let her front of the house staff figure out what to do when something goes wrong or things are needed from the grocery store. Which puts them behind and takes away the attention they should be giving to their loyal customers. The kitchen staff are good people but don't care if they send out food properly or consistently. They have no pride in what they do or how they leave there work area. The Farmers Kitchen is lucky to have the health score they do. And the owner should open her eyes and appreciate the employees that do take pride in their work. And that go above and beyond to make sure the restaurant has what it needs to keep the dedicated customers coming back everyday. And learn how to thank those employees and appreciate them doing her job for her with no compensation. Instead of terminating them and lying about them just to please the person that will eventually be the reason why you loose the employees that do care and the customers that have kept the businesses open for all these years. read more

Great food especially Friday night prime rib. Service is good and very laid back atmosphere.

In town for business and decided to stop in for lunch. I decided to settle on their "BBQ" chicken remembering that "BBQ" here is a noun not a verb. Either way it's really baked chicken and I asked for their BBQ sauce on the side. I can honestly say it was probably some of the best baked chicken I have ever had. Also the restaurant is very comfortable and makes you feel like you are home. The server we had also was on top of her A game. She was excellent. read more

Love the service and the country cooking. Everything a small town needs. Over the top customer service.

Great, friendly service. We stopped for lunch on our way home to Chapel Hill, and enjoyed a delicious Reuben sandwich and finished with a heavenly piece of Turtle cheesecake. Worth a trip back for another meal. A hidden gem. read more

A few short hours ago, I was enjoying a late breakfast at The Farmer's Table. What a great name for a down home country restaurant located in rural Bunn, NC. Vast tobacco fields, real farmers and farm workers surround this area. The Farmer's Table has taken over a location previously occupied by a restaurant I never had the chance to visit. The interior appears to be completely renovated and the exterior considerably spruced up. Now when I pass by, it's not uncommon to see a line of people waiting at peak hours at dinner or breakfast. Now I know why. Most days they're open from 6AM to 2PM and twice a week they're open till 8PM for dinner. I finally arrived for a Sunday breakfast that, overall, I am most happy with. I didn't have to wait in line but, when I finally entered for the first time, I was met with cheerful greetings and continued cheerful service during my meal. This was not forced, fake, or disingenuous. I arrived around 9:15 AM. This is between their early morning opening rush and their late sleepers arrival. They have two dining areas. The front of the house is closer to the entrance and kitchen and decorated in a classic golden yellow while the rear is decorated in a warm sage green. Of course, I immediately pleaded for coffee and quickly received the elixir of life. It was pretty standard fare and was good but not notable. While drinking my coffee, I perused the breakfast menu. All sorts of eggs, omellettes, sausage, bacon , biscuits, pancakes etc... were available. I picked the most expensive dish with two eggs, sausage or bacon, hash browns or grits, biscuit or toast, and a pancake for $5.99. Needless to say, I felt like I won the lottery. Promptly but in a completely relaxed fashion, I received my breakfast. The eggs were cooked over easy as requested, the sausage was meaty and deliciously spicy, the pancake was good but not their forte, the hash browns were made from freshly shredded potatoes and grilled in butter giving them a crisp surface and a gentle softness. The biscuit...was wonderful. An unadulterated biscuit with nothing added gave me a chance to appreciate the tenderness and almost sweet salty buttery flavor that a real biscuit should have. I lingered after eating my meal not ready to leave as I enjoyed the homey relaxing ambiance. This was a most delicious experience! Dinner is next !!! read more

The food is great for a home cooked meal. The prices are great as well. Great for families and won't break the bank.

This place has awesome down home meals, and you can't beat the price or the simple and relaxing atmosphere. A rare find these days. Biggest pancakes you've ever seen, and a meat loaf that rivals my mother's recipe. Idk why some yelpers are saying this place is closed, its not. it's packed every breakfast lunch and dinner. read more

The quantity of food for the price is definitely worth it. I would highly recommend this place if you're nearby. read more

The Farmer's Table is a hidden gem in Bunn. You would never guess that the food in this small restaurant is so good. The decor is nice and the staff are very friendly. I wish they had longer hours! This is my family's favorite place to get food in town. The prices are reasonable and they often have specials. 10/26/11 update Had breakfast around 10am and this place was packed. People were waiting to get seats. Part of the problem is that there are not tables for two. They are all for 4 or more, so most tables where half empty. Food was great and the price was just right. read more
