Chicken & Waffles, French Toast, and Pancakes
    Kai J.

Polarizing location in a strip mall next to a barbershop-- locations like these are normally either elite or trash. This place though, was the former. Elite breakfast spot. Pancakes were flavorful with a nice texture. French toast was rich in taste. The waffle was solid, a bit too crispy, but tasted good. The hash browns didn't have great presentation but were sufficient. The chicken tenders were the star of the show, complimented by a barbecue sauce with the right blend of tang and smokiness. Water tasted top shelf as well. Service staff were attentive and quite hospitable. Nice little gem breakfast spot in Raleigh!

Only thing u can say that was good about this place is the service. I ordered the Corned beef hash and I was expecting it to better. But I absolutely could not stomach it. It looked like vomit and I did not like the taste. I took it home and fed it to my dog. I also ordered the Sausage gravy and it was also a disappointment...not flavorful at all. Store bought gravy tastes better than theirs. My daughter however did enjoy her pancakes. I took a bite and can confirm the Pancakes are good. My husband ordered an omelet. He did enjoy it....aside from the pieces of Kraft cheese on top.

We come here at least once a month, they are busy right before church and after. I had the corn beef hash again, but it wasn't fried as hard this time and I will ask for it to be fried harder next time. My friend loves their ham and always gets it. The eggs are always cooked to perfection.

This spot is in an unassuming strip mall. The have online ordering and delivery through Grub Hub This small cafe has a classic American diner menu - burgers, sandwiches, wraps and breakfast. They also have a few vegetarian options and southern classics like liver & onions. It seems like they have popular lunch specials with entree, side & drink for 9.99 The veggie burger & fries I got was really delicious! I was pleasantly surprised. It had great flavor and wasn't dry The staff were friendly and helpful The cafe has indoor seating only with booths and tables. Many of the patrons during the lunch hour were seniors - it seems to be popular with that age group

    Vegetarian omelet, grits and biscuit

I have been driving by this place for YEARS but finally went in for breakfast today. Seated quickly. Ordered the vegetarian omelet with grits and biscuit. Omelet was stuffed with veggies, had two slices of cheese melted on top and a queso like cheese in the middle. Grits were perfect consistency. Drinks are included with the breakfast combos! I ordered a Diet Coke because I am not a coffee drinker and it was included. Great service. Will be back!

Food is always good, service is fairly quick, staff make the environment welcoming - especially the lady who answers calls, takes payments.

You have to let the security at the desk no you're stoooing in for lunch at Truffles. There's decent seating, wood line view, and a television. It offers breakfast and lunch for the desk jockeys working there, which is convenient. They have your egg-and-meat type sandwiches for breakfast (toast, English muffin, or croissant) and sandwiches and salads for lunch, with a different soup on a rotating basis. They also offer a special every day, which a lot of my coworkers really enjoy. I heard a bunch of them rave about the veggie melt, which I still haven't had a chance to try! Anyway, there are your typical deli sandwiches, plus several mediterranean (vegetarian) options, which is great for me! There are a couple sides, like fruit salad, tabouli, and stuffed grape leaves. It's a pretty good deal, with sandwiches around $5-7. A cup of soup is just a few bucks! They also carry drinks and some snacks, and always have a couple baskets of brownies and bars to satisfy your nagging sweet tooth.

The day's special, chicken pastry, was far too salty. The butter beans lived up to their name. Their texture was buttery soft but they also were over salted. Deviled eggs weren't bad but the pickle brine used in the filling had a strong cinnamon note. The fried chicken was described to me as dry. Banana pudding, which came with the meal, was served pleasantly warm but had neither meringue nor whipped cream. We don't see many restaurants like this anymore - straightforward Southern home cooking, the kind you used to see at meat 'n threes all over NC. It's too bad that Big Ed's no longer seems to be doing their part in maintaining that legacy.

When I arrived to pickup my lunch order (breakfast for lunch), it still wasn't quite ready. Then when I got back to work, I discovered how they were able to expedite things after my arrival.
