Two Eggs with Bacon and Potatoes
Chuck H.

We had another delicious breakfast this morning...great food, endless coffee and wonderful, friendly service. Very reasonable prices too. Veggie omelette was huge, Cattleman's country ham spot on and not too salty, eggs and biscuits perfect as always! Also enjoy stepping back in time with the classic diner ambiance. Isn't it time for you to make a run for The Border!!!

Keep it simple! Eggs, bacon potatoes and a biscuit. The place does the simple breakfasts and lunches right. They offer a nice selection of omelettes and combo platters. The Polish omelet with the kielbasa is a favorite of mine, sometimes. My neighbors and I have become regulars on Saturday mornings. It's always a nice experience. The "cawfee" is endless and there is no rush here. It is truly a throwback greasy spoon restaurant that I kinda miss these days. And here is a tip, they open at 4am. If your in Wake Forest and want a simple and satisfying meal, definitely check them out.

Buckle up buttercup-this ain't no avocado toast flingin' fancy smancy first meal of the day place. If down home Americana needed a picture by it's definition in a dictionary or wikipedia this place would be a prime candidate. It's an old school dinner and lunch place that slings it old style. I'd best describe it as the kinda breakfast your grandma would make if she were alive. Eggs every which way Fried potatoes-you must get them! Pancakes Toast Breakfast meats Sausage gravy It's all there. Sensitive types should note, this is the kinda place one might expect to see Fox and Friends, Pete Hegseth doing a remote and interviewing people about what's so freaking messed up with this Country.... Service is fast, no frills and the team looks like they've been there since NIxon was in the White House, some may have even voted for him! Good breakfast food at fair prices, worth your time and moolah.

Old style, , classic, vintage ..... that's definitely what comes to mind when I think about Border. The next word that comes to mind is " cheap" !! Man I can't believe how cheap this place is ..... it was 4 of us having breakfast and the bill didn't even make it to $30. $30 is what I pay for 2 people at any other breakfast place. And what about the quality ? Was I blown away ? Nope, it was just ok though and if I would have had to pay more I would be complaining. So basically the quality was on par with the price. If you are looking for a modern, franchise looking breakfast place then don't go, you'll be disappointed. If you want to try breakfast at a place with a small town feel then give it a shot. Definitely an interesting place. Will I come often? Probably not because menu is pretty basic for me but I like to support local businesses so I'll visit once in a while.

First timer at this relic Wake Forest restaurant. Hubby wanted to go out to breakfast so off we went. Positives are the prices are lowest of any place I've seen. Servers are pretty awesome as well. It's seat yourself type of place, the decor looks original (as in 20+ years). I ordered a veggie omelette minus the shrooms and onions. It came with onions but not a big deal. My omelette however was extremely runny. The potatoes are boiled and then fried on grill. Everything lacked seasoning. Guess you get what you pay for. Under $20 for 2 meals without drinks. Wouldn't be in a hurry to return as I make my own killer omelette. Maybe lunch is more their forte?

The two of us eat at Over the Falls regularly and always enjoy it. I'm honestly surprised I hadn't written a review before. Lunch for two came to $65.80 + tax and tip, and there was more than enough food. I ordered one of my two favorites: the Ahi Tuna Pita (the other favorite is the blue cheese burger). I paired it with a side salad and blue cheese dressing, plus an unsweetened iced tea with lemon. My wife ordered The Barrel, their Philly cheesesteak, with a side of sweet potato fries. We also shared an order of house-made potato skins. It was far too much food, in a good way, and we took plenty home. Service was outstanding and truly a team effort. One moment stood out: when my wife hesitated to ask for sour cream for the potato skins, our server immediately said, "It's just 15 steps, let me get it for you." That small gesture made a big difference. The rest of the team was equally warm, friendly, and attentive. The ambiance works perfectly for us, lively, busy, and welcoming without feeling chaotic. I would be confident ordering virtually anything from the menu. We'll keep coming back.

Our server, Dawn, was easily one best servers I've had in a long time. Knowledgeable about the menu, made a point to explain everything and no questions were too obscure. We had a variety of dishes, and out of everything the pork schnitzel wasn't really a schnitzel if you've ever had one in Germany, it was more like a breaded, fried bone-in pork chop, really good but not a traditional schnitzel. The asparagus, the risotto, the pasta, the chicken were all absolutely superior. The stars were the appetizers, especially the kung pao fried Brussels, those are a meal by themselves, some of the best I've ever had! The fried burrata cheese, worth the drive to Wake Forest. Their Cherry cobbler one word: YUM! The Farm Table is a roomy restaurant with tables well suited for family style dining and while a bit loud, certainly not uncomfortably so Totally recommended and thank me later for those Brussel Sprouts!

We had one app (tuna poke nachos if you must know) that were very good, but everything else was sort of mid. The ideas are good...execution comes across a bit flaccid. No bold flavors, only bold ideas. Draft beer selection was definitely good. Mixed drinks tasted fresh (no sour mix etc) and the ambience was welcoming and chill. Staff were all nice. Place seemed clean. Flavor Score: 3 Experience Overall : 4

After running errands, we drove just six minutes to El Chapin, a Guatemalan restaurant. Forget Tex-Mex--this is a completely different Latin cuisine experience. The two of us spent $76 (including tax and tip), but we intentionally ordered extra to take home leftovers. Parking was easy, right out front, and the restaurant itself is spacious. Since we arrived just a few minutes after opening, we had the place to ourselves at first and were seated immediately. Service was prompt and very helpful--the server even suggested we might have ordered too much food (he was right, but we didn't mind!). Here's what we tried: Plato Chorizo y Longaniza - a sausage platter with salad, rice, refried black beans, and two delicious housemade corn tortillas. Pollo Adobado - marinated chicken with rice, salad, refried black beans and two housemade corn tortillas . Ceviche de Camarón - fresh and tangy, though light on shrimp, which tasted a bit tough Fried Plantains - perfectly done, sweet, and satisfying. Plus, I had an unsweetened iced tea with lemon. The highlights for me were the flavorful rice (with vegetables mixed in, including carrots and squash), the marinated chicken, and the sausages. The plantains were also excellent. The ceviche had great flavor but could've used more shrimp. The only miss for me was the salad--generous in portion but iceberg-based, so a bit bland. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, not heavy or greasy, and we left with enough for another one or two meals. We'll definitely be back.

It was served well done. When asked "how is everything" by the bartender/server as he rushed by I replied "it's okay" and he didn't break stride before moving on to the next table. - a different server came by after awhile and asked if we needed to go boxes. I declined and said the beef was overcooked. The server walked away. - a third person came over and said "I heard you were not satisfied with your meal". I explained that it was not served as advertised. He then asked "what would you like me to do about this"? I find this an odd question - no apology for the beef being over cooked, no offer to comp the item, he never introduced himself. - I chose not to answer the question. He then came back with the bill and let us know that he comped the over cooked sandwich (which included one side on the menu) but "only charged you for the side" Yes, my review is overly detailed and may come across as whiny. However, our party of four honestly felt like the staff didn't care if we were there or not. They also forgot my dining companion's grilled chicken on her grilled chicken Caesar. I honestly hope they improve and become part of the neighborhood but our family will not return. Ps - I really like pickled onions and didn't see anything on the menu served with pickled onions.

You MUST sample several of his creations, and take a moment to see the incredible brewery that is a huge part of the experience - his wife Lynn gave us a quick and amazing tour of the brewery, see pics. I had the Viking Burger, a carnivorian delight made from elk, bison, boar and wagyu meats and a half Norwegian salad that had us swooning with pleasure - a full salad would be a satisfying main vegetarian entree. Paul's Wisconsin Brat was so good, gonna hafta to have that during our next visit.
