Made the drive to see what hype was about and did not disappoint! Shack tots were hot, crispy, delish! Got the two protein combo with kalbi and shack chicken. Mac salad for the side for the combo. Got a side of poke because why not? And was a decent portion for a side! Everything came out hot (except the poke obviously) and can easily feed two people. Very casual vibe inside and they have merch you can purchase. The menu prices listed on here are not current. I think each item cost about $1 more now. Loved the service! The lady was super friendly and seems like she knew a lot of the regulars.

I've been to Aloha Shack 3 times and have always been impressed. First two times I got the Kahlua Pork nachos and the patty melt and they were both delicious. But this last time I got the kahlua pork tacos with cheese as the tortilla and it was PHENOMENAL. Eat it while it's hot and fresh. Cannot recommend enough. I also always get the special tator tots and dip it in the garlic mango buffalo sauce which is my favorite Buffalo sauce ever, island bbq sauce is also yummy. Lots of flavor here. Hawaiian vibes inside the shack and always friendly service.

Great food, the Mac and cheese is one of my favorites, the chicken wings have great flavor and the teriyaki chicken very moist and lots of flavor. The service is friendly. Cute Hawaiian decor, love the pictures of the Ohana, feel the love.

I really like this place. I had pancit and kalbi ribs. I also had a side of rice, mac salad, and cabbage salad. My husband shared his tots with me. The pancit was good but not my favorite but I loved everything else. I also got a hat that says samoan. Very nice anniversary dinner with my husband. The staff were very nice. The artwork was nice and the seating was ok. The restaurant was super freezing especially on a rainy day.

Came in on a Friday afternoon and the place was pretty empty. Came here specifically to try the lumpia because it had been so long since I had some. The Lumpia was decent but the real star was the chicken wings with ono sauce. Ono sauce is a mix of sriracha, honey, and sesame sauce and it was so delicious. Not too sweet and not too spicy. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful. My husband got the loco moco and he enjoyed that as well. If I'm ever in the area again I would for sure stop by for the wings!

Hidden gem! Resturaunt is very clean and was playing great music walking in. I ordered the pancit and it is probably the best pancit I've ever had and that's hard to say growing up on it. My wife's teriyaki vegetable chicken bowl was also delicious. Staff was showed much aloha! Will definitely return and have to try some awards winning wings. Don't miss out on this place. Much Mahalos to the owners of this shack

This is my favorite Hawaiian BBQ in Reno. My favorite is the shack chicken. It's crunchy and has a wonderful sauce on it. For me, it's not too spicy. It comes with your choice of macaroni salad or cabbage salad. Haven't tried the cabbage salad because the macaroni is my favorite. I've always gotten takeout, so this the first time I've eaten here and it's pretty clean including the bathroom. Staff is pretty friendly even when we have takeout. Only bummer is they're closed on Sundays and Mondays. All in all I recommend this place highly.

Normally, when we come into Reno we always eat at our go to place. This time I felt like we should try something different. I suggested Hawaiian food. This place was off the beaten track but decided, based on reviews, it would be worth the drive. We arrived to find the place is more like a hole in the wall place. There was nobody there so we were hoping the reviews were true. Upon entering the place is pretty basic with some Hawaiian decor and an area where trophies were displayed. You walk up to a counter to order. We asked a few questions about what she recommended. We decided to give 3 things a try, the Chicken Katsu, The Shake Chicken and Teriyaki Chicken Veggie Bowl. Be prepared for your paying screen to ask for a tip but be aware you are walking up to place your order, getting your own drinks and bussing your own table. Tip or don't tip based on that. We sat down and waited. Food was ready in about 15 minutes. An employee brought our food in to go containers, brought napkins and forks. I've had Hawaiian food in different cities. My Katsu was very good but not the best I've tried. My husband liked his Shake Chicken, a generous portion given, but Hawaiian food isn't something he would ever suggest eating. My daughter's Teriyaki Chicken Bowl was great according to her. I actually didn't know that the Teriyaki Chicken bowl with veggies had rice at the bottom because I would have gotten that instead of the rice and macaroni salad that comes with the other entrees. We did have the employee ask how everything was which was nice. During our time there, there was at least 10 to go orders picked up and 2 other table of people sat down. I do recommend people in Reno, who want to try Hawaiian food, give this place a try. As for us, there are too many other places to try when we are in Reno unless we are in that area.

It's been about 4 years since the last time, I tried the food here and since I was hosting about 10 people at my home, I wanted to serve something simple and cost effective. My goto for this is Chinese food. I ordered chicken chow mein and stir fried mixed vegetables. It came in two trays and enough from probably closer to 15 people. So portions were good but the total bill was between $120-$130 about what I've come to expect here in Reno. Let's just say, I've traveled to several countries in Asia and lived most of my life in Northern CA eating quite a bit of Chinese food. This doesn't make my an expert but it would be fair to say, I am quite familiar with what is considered mainstream traditional Chinese cooking. But let's get to the food, with the caveat that I realize that everyone's preferences can vary widely when it comes to food. So my opinion is based on what one would find in Hong Kong and San Francisco. The chicken chow mein had all the correct ingredients, long noodles that were slightly thicker than say spaghetti, had the correct amount of softness without being mushy. Chicken was presented in slices and appeared to be white meat, there was some white onions thrown in there for some texture and flavor. Normally when I order chow mein, it isn't served with a brown "gravy". Not that this dish was swimming in it, but think of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Replace the red with medium dark brown and you get the picture. Now my guests who are Reno locals, thought it was great and flavorful. I would agree with the flavor part but it was much too saucy for my tastes. Would I try Chin Chin again for noodles? I'm not sure but the owner did state, they can make dishes any way I like, so perhaps I'll order off menu next time. The stir fried mixed vegetables is where I was most disappointed. Let's start with the ingredients. All were sliced in 2-3 inch pieces, which included button mushrooms, zuchinni, bamboo shoots, brocolli, carrots, and onions. This dish could have passed for a savory vegetable stew. There was a lot of gravy, so much so, that it colored all the vegetables brown, except for the carrots. The sauce had a slight "twang" to it, almost vinegar or worchester-like. Not my thing, I could not taste the individual flavors of the vegetables because of how heavy the sauce was. The brocolli was over cooked where the flowerette parts were pale. I prefer my vegetables to be just cooked, almost snappy. I would not order this dish again. No comments on the restaurant itself as both times I tried it, was for take out. So bottomline, would I try Chin Chin again? Yes but I will be very specific on how I would like my order prepared. Maybe for their lunch special.

The menu is full of cups of meat and not found at the other KBBQ restaurant and generally speaking quality is there on all of it. We enjoyed the birthday celebration here the other night, and discovered a few new favorites, including the pork GALBI, which is delicious, sweet, tender cuts of lean pork marinated in the sweet sowing which grows up wonderfully and delivers a nice char. I also am a huge fan of the Sydney slice of beef tongue that cooks chicken. Did that in a little bit of sesame oil salt or add a bit of the seasoning spice from your condiment tray and throw that in lettuce or radish wrap, and you are set. They also offer a couple of specialty cuts at dinner only like the thousand stripe and premium GALBI, which is a crosscut beef short rib. I personally think their short rib is the best in town as it comes out nicely marinated and extremely tender with just the right amount of fat versus some of the others that I've tried which have a substantial amount of fat versus meat. There was also a specialty cut of fatty pork that I cannot remember the Korean Nemo, but that took a long time to cook, even though it was in sliced, but then result was this delightfully crispy piece of meat that could be eaten on its own or added to another wrap that you were creating and was quite enjoyable. The reason for decreasing into four stars is just service. That's where the other KBBQ has this place beat. Part of a we were seated at two tables right next to each other and for some reason, it seemed one table received more attention than the other and after a point it seemed that the server just stopped coming back altogether, and they also forgot items multiple times throughout the meal left water glasses on filled and didn't clear place on the act. Normally not a big deal but you're consuming so much as a larger party and you're dealing with brought meat. You are putting your diners at risk for not helping to make sure that we maintain a clean and sanitary dining experience. Even to the end of the meal, the server did not come back to see if we wanted to order more food or bring us a check and I had to get up and go to the front to ask for it. Lastly, I was shocked that they did not have any hot sake in the restaurant to order nor did they offer any type of dessert either included or for purchase. We came to celebrate a birthday and can't be the only people that stop here for special occasions, so I would assume that there are people that want that when they're dying here and it was just surprising to hear that. Again, this is a great Korean barbecue spot and then I will certainly return to you and hope that the service experience improved so that the dining experience overall is that much better.

It is pretty clean , organized , and easy to navigate certain sections. I also like that the restaurant is right next door if you are hungry and want to grab a meal. However I do think their selection is pretty limited with the basic: sinigang ang baboy and Longinisa with garlic fried rice. Also keep in mind if you are getting the sinigang it is about $17. Like I said, probably the closest store you will get to a seafood city and pretty well stocked of items. I do recommend checking this one out .
