    Nice chicken and pork combination
    Tommy J.

Went here two days in a row. Was craving some chicken wings. And this place popped up on yelp. Not too far of a drive from lemon Valley, so I thought we're not try it. What we ordered: Day one: Chicken wings (teriyaki) Pancit Combo plate (chicken and pork) Day 2: Lumpia 2x loco moco The chicken wings were good. Combo plate both the chicken and pork were delicious . The pancit was kind of flavorless but spicy. My wife couldn't eat it because it was too spicy, when I tasted it, it just didn't have any real flavor other than a bit too salty and spicy. I do like spicy foods, but it was weird. Also, it was $30 for two loco moco and though they tasted good, I felt it was extremely expensive to have a hamburger patty and an egg on rice with gravy. So basically two eggs and two hamburger patties for $30... I did like the lumpia. The people are friendly. The Hawaiian barbecue and chicken wings were good. I will definitely come back for those. But even though the hamburger patty with egg and gravy had a good flavor, just really overpriced so I won't get that again.

Made the drive to see what hype was about and did not disappoint! Shack tots were hot, crispy, delish! Got the two protein combo with kalbi and shack chicken. Mac salad for the side for the combo. Got a side of poke because why not? And was a decent portion for a side! Everything came out hot (except the poke obviously) and can easily feed two people. Very casual vibe inside and they have merch you can purchase. The menu prices listed on here are not current. I think each item cost about $1 more now. Loved the service! The lady was super friendly and seems like she knew a lot of the regulars.

I've been to Aloha Shack 3 times and have always been impressed. First two times I got the Kahlua Pork nachos and the patty melt and they were both delicious. But this last time I got the kahlua pork tacos with cheese as the tortilla and it was PHENOMENAL. Eat it while it's hot and fresh. Cannot recommend enough. I also always get the special tator tots and dip it in the garlic mango buffalo sauce which is my favorite Buffalo sauce ever, island bbq sauce is also yummy. Lots of flavor here. Hawaiian vibes inside the shack and always friendly service.

Great food, the Mac and cheese is one of my favorites, the chicken wings have great flavor and the teriyaki chicken very moist and lots of flavor. The service is friendly. Cute Hawaiian decor, love the pictures of the Ohana, feel the love.

I really like this place. I had pancit and kalbi ribs. I also had a side of rice, mac salad, and cabbage salad. My husband shared his tots with me. The pancit was good but not my favorite but I loved everything else. I also got a hat that says samoan. Very nice anniversary dinner with my husband. The staff were very nice. The artwork was nice and the seating was ok. The restaurant was super freezing especially on a rainy day.

Came in on a Friday afternoon and the place was pretty empty. Came here specifically to try the lumpia because it had been so long since I had some. The Lumpia was decent but the real star was the chicken wings with ono sauce. Ono sauce is a mix of sriracha, honey, and sesame sauce and it was so delicious. Not too sweet and not too spicy. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful. My husband got the loco moco and he enjoyed that as well. If I'm ever in the area again I would for sure stop by for the wings!

Hidden gem! Resturaunt is very clean and was playing great music walking in. I ordered the pancit and it is probably the best pancit I've ever had and that's hard to say growing up on it. My wife's teriyaki vegetable chicken bowl was also delicious. Staff was showed much aloha! Will definitely return and have to try some awards winning wings. Don't miss out on this place. Much Mahalos to the owners of this shack

10/21/2023- Whew a long day trip, driving Donner Lake through 89 North to looping back around to 395.. Hungry as heck! So glad we stopped.. Ordered the teriyaki chicken with rice and Mac salad.. Always hits the spot!

This is my favorite Hawaiian BBQ in Reno. My favorite is the shack chicken. It's crunchy and has a wonderful sauce on it. For me, it's not too spicy. It comes with your choice of macaroni salad or cabbage salad. Haven't tried the cabbage salad because the macaroni is my favorite. I've always gotten takeout, so this the first time I've eaten here and it's pretty clean including the bathroom. Staff is pretty friendly even when we have takeout. Only bummer is they're closed on Sundays and Mondays. All in all I recommend this place highly.

Looking for a new lunch spot while on the job, Yelp pointed me in the right direction of Aloha Shack. There was actually a line of what looked like coworkers getting ready to place their order. Everything sounded amazing. I ordered the shack chicken and was torn between that and the Chicken Katsu or the chicken terriyaki. I had to order some lumpia too. I'm used to other Hawaiian places in town having Hawaaiian sodas as that hits the spot but they just had regular drinks. I ended up spending close to $30 (steep for a lunch) but everything was delicious. I place a tip but I guess since I got it to go I was called to the counter. I would definitely come back as the portions were heaping and everything tasted wonderful.

Lo and behold, L&L had a tray available to order and ready for pick up in an hour and a half. I was worried that it was too soon of a pick up but the cashier was able to place the order. I got there at the agreed time and the lumpia was ready to go. I ordered two of the large trays that was placed in one tray and was given two large bottles of sweet chili sauce. We were pretty hungry so we ordered some musubis, a mini loco moco, and a protein plate. As far as I can tell, the musubis aren't made with the mold so it can fall apart pretty easily but overall it was good. We got two katsu musubis and a Portuguese sausage musubi. All the other food was as delicious as I expected so no complaints from me. The place is small but clean. They share the same unit with a round tables pizza so it was pretty quiet in there. The order of lumpia was devoured before the night ended. Everyone enjoyed them and someone took one of the unused sweet chili bottles home! Guess that means it was very good!

Joe was wonderful and agreed to take on the task of providing the food for 60-80 friends and family members. I had a good friend pick up 7 large trays of food which included BBQ chicken, rice, spam fried rice, Mac salad, green salad mix (with wontons and dressing on the side) and potstickers. The food was ready on time and was able to be set up right before the reception began. The food was amazing and several attendees had never heard of or had Kenji's. The spam fried rice was the big hit and almost all of it was eaten. Several attendees were impressed with the quality and flavor of the food. Thankfully to my surprise, it was the reflection of the barbershop next door and the restaurant had patrons but not swamped! They include sesame seeds and julienne carrots to their mac salad, which I liked, but others may not. Several more people came in and ordered after me, so for a Thursday afternoon is was steady. I will definitely be back to try out more menu items.

I tried this place because i saw pictures of fish tacos on previous reviews. Much to my dismay,…read morethey were not on the menu and when i asked about them i was told that those were just a "seasonal" offering last year. Hmmm, isn't peak tourist season in tahoe the right time to have your seasonal offerings? Oh well i looked for something else. Honestly the menu is pretty scant for lunch. Only three sandwiches and one was a hamburger. I finally settled on the ahi poke tacos. I have had lots of poke in hawaii so i was skeptical being in tahoe but i must say they were good. Not great but i would order them again. The place has a hawaiian flair in the menu so i was hoping for maybe a katsu dish or more fresh fish options. I think fish tacos would be a slam dunk there but that's just me. The ambience is nice and i sat in the shade on the patio on one of the hottest days of the year and it was still quite pleasant. Parking is readily available (that's important in tahoe in the summer) and service was on point. It was a little pricey for lunch, being over $32 after tax and tip for tacos and a soda. They also charge 3% service charge for using a credit card which i did not see posted on any signs or menus. Disappointing to find hidden charges after the meal. Overall i would rate this 3.5 stars but half stars are not available.
