Hands down, my favorite hot yoga studio! As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is so zen and…read moresmells like eucalyptus all around. I will forever choose to go here! Bathrooms are clean. They have a nice patio to wait for your class to start or cool down after. They offer free cold eucalyptus soaked face/hand towels. They offer a wide variety of classes from beginner to advanced. Their instructors are sooo inspiring and supportive! They don't play about mental health and fitness. TIP: it's hotter here than other studio's so if you've never tried hot yoga, I would try other places first to get acclimated, then come on over to Hot 8. What I don't like: while it's visibly clean and decluttered, I sometimes question how much they actually prioritize sanitation. Especially with all the heat/moisture/sweat, I can only hope that they are using high quality and safe equipment to ensure a clean environment. TIP: DO NOT borrow or rent the mat towels!!!! They smell so moldy. U can smell them like 3 people down from you! Gross. The prices are a little up there. Techinically they are average prices, but I hope there comes a day that it becomes more affordable. Yoga should be accessible to all. For those of us who bring their own workout materials, all you're paying for is for the instructor to call out the moves and a little extra to help keep the power on. Considering that this can be practiced at home, I'm not sure why it needs to cost so much.

Yoga continues to be such an intimate lil' world. The Guide: Reza Samadhi * Heated OLY Flow We began with the breath: Five-count inhale. Six-count exhale. Reza gave us our point of focus: The breath. We moved slowly. Smoothly. Fluidly. Long poses invited us to deepen the breath. Flying transitions reminded us to keep breathing... until it felt like gliding. Eventually, we came down. In Seated Butterfly, Reza offered one more reminder: "Lean into your deepening." And then... that moment when something understood in the mind is experienced in the body. Lean into what's ready to open. Finally, ripe and ready for Savasana. Music off. Silence. The Tribe Callie's welcome made arriving easy. Two lives from the Midwest somehow meeting inside a yoga studio in Pasadena. The Space & Place One Life Yoga sits above the street. Up the stairs, messages appeared: Increase energy. Improve concentration. At the top, the studio opens into: White walls. Dark wood floors. Exposed ceiling beams. Plants spilling from windows and shelves. Chairs gathered around fresh flowers. And Ganesha waiting just outside the yoga room. Summary We moved. We breathed. We deepened. The Shift "Lean into your deepening." There it was: A teaching moving from thought into experience. ‍ Yoga Field Note: Practice turns knowing into being.

At first I was excited since I live nearby and planned to start yoga as a self care practice. The lady who initially called me when I signed up urged me to start asap. I notified her that I was still sorting through my schedule as this is the first month of the school year so it's a bit busy on my end. She wasn't friendly so this made me want to put it off for even longer. Mind you, the trial doesn't start until the day I come in for my first session so I was under the impression that I had time. 3 weeks later, my trial that has been already paid for has "expired". I called and emailed, still no response. I'll be doing a charge back on my card since this is bad business practice. Even worse, when I had called them it's either the phone doesn't get answered or the guy who did answer was clueless about which direction I should take. Will not be recommending to anyone and hopefully I get my money back.

Nothing beats the intelligence of the Iyengar system, imho! I will say that Paul has a unique way of balancing his precise knowledge with a very spacious accommodation, which is TRULY the art of an engaged teacher. However, there are other instructors here (I won't name names) that unfortunately trigger my sympathetic nervous system with their tone, and overuse of the word "should." As much as I try to get past this, my breath and body just become tight, and I don't move as freely with overly managed instruction. Yoga House could be one of the last studios on the Eastside that uphold the integrity of a yogic learning environment. As a yogi of 25 years, and an instructor myself, I recommend the Iyengar classes to anyone working to heal injuries and those who want to deepen their practice. It's not a miracle, but a more serious approach to yoga can be transformative, on many levels.

Tara Yoga is exactly what I was looking for!…read more I've stopped working out when covid hit so I was looking for a smaller, boutique yoga studio to ease back into it. Tara Yoga is not like Yogaworks, which is more cookie-cutter taught by many instructors. This studio only offers a handful of classes a day, which to me, are conveniently scheduled, and are mostly taught by the owner, Tara. Classes can range from as little as 3 people to as many as 15, depending on the class you choose. During smaller classes, we can request what we'd like to work on, which I truly enjoy as it feels very personalized. Smaller classes are great after a 2-year work out hiatus. I absolutely love how Tara begins and ends her classes. She includes a calming chant, sometimes with instruments, and it feels very soothing for me to connect with the room. Payments and classes registration are all done online through the Mind Body app, which is easy and seamless. Classes are reasonably priced, and many types of subscriptions to choose from. I love coming here, finally found my "one" yoga studio!

BE AWARE OF THIS BUSINESS AND THE OWNER. UPDATE: Owner responded under this comment claiming that she does not offer refunds and that it was stated in her studio policy. For us THERE WAS NO STUDIO POLICY SHOWN AND WE DID NOT SIGN ANYTHING. We were also not gone for a month, she did not notify us of her absence so we waited outside over 10 minutes for class and then emailed her to ask why she didn't show up. The week after was the holidays so my girls had winter break for two weeks. However, I told her exactly when we will resume in which she did not disagree with and then when we showed up on 1/6, she doubled booked. I will not be backing up on this because she promised a refund.
